    Range report
    I just bought a CR920P last week and shot it yesterday.
    CR920P
    150 rounds of 124gr. FMJ
    200 rounds of 115gr. FMJ
    70 rounds of various hollow points
    The gun was bone dry from the factory, so I lubed it properly. I ran the gun fast to get it as hot as I could and to see how easy it was to get the front sight back on target. In that respect, the comp seems to work well. The gun is less snappy under recoil than a Glock 43 or Sig P365.
    Zero malfunctions.
    I really like this gun.

      Great to hear! Its an extremely smooth shooter. It does like a higher pressure round to function properly. Glad you like it!

      @gunpowderandprotein3444 the 124gr was Am Eagle and the 115gr was Herters (loaded by Winchester). I have no idea what pressures they load to. I was surprised I got through 420 rounds with no malfunctions based on what I've seen and read. I was expecting it to be finicky at first.
      I've always preferred carrying a larger gun like my Glock 19, or more recently, the Shadow Systems MR920L. However, with the 13 round magazine, I don't feel like I'm making much of a compromise when I carry the CR920P.

    I had mine out today. 1st range day with it, 300 rounds of cheap white box and some +p HP rounds and "zero" malfunctions, it shot extremely well, and I thought I shot it even better than my P365XL, so far it was a fun day with it.

    My first ten rounds through my CR920P failed to eject. I was devastated. Tried different brands of 115GR and still would not eject. I switched to 124GR and Jesus. One of the best shooting guns ever. Not one malfunction after 500 rounds. I switched back to some Aguila 115GR and had a malfunction after the second round. Definitely using higher end 124GR.

    Glad it worked out for you. I had a number of FTFs on my CR920P the first range day. Stored the gun with the slide back and racked it a bunch of times before the next time out and never had another FTF. (I did have premature slide lock due to a faulty slide release lever, but that was fixed with a quick swap). I think the springs come stiff out of the factory, and with the compensator it makes a difference. Slide might not be cycling back 100%. Once the spring softens it runs smoother.

    Love my Hellcat RDP. Had it for 2 years now and it came with 7 mags (gear up event) and the shield dot so it was a great edc choice at the time. Awesome to have so many options right now. Thanks for the review.

    Mine is doing the same thing with 115 through 147. It hates 147. Multiple brands as well. It’s loosening up , it just seems very tight, at 250 rounds

    @GunInsights Před rokem +1

    Here's what I discovered having put 800rds through it with 5 different mags: the SS RSA seems to be about 19lbs, whereas the G43X is 17lbs. I had tons of problems for my first 7-8 mags, but it went away; however, it started back again when I used new mags. I switched to a Glock 43X OEM RSA and the stovepipes all completely stopped. So I think it's a bit oversprung for the comp and some ammo (I mostly shoot Fed AE 124 and S&B 124, with SOME AE115 and S&B115).
    I'm even going to try a 15# RSA, but I think the safest bet is an OEM Glock one.

      The CR920 is my favorite micro-9, but the 920P is so much softer that I ended up sticking with it just because I love shooting it. I did NOT like the jams/failures, but I really think switching to a Glock OEM RSA is good insurance against failures, just like using good ammo. I'm sure it'll do fine with 115, but am currently just feeding it 124 for now.

    I had the same issues as you with bulk ammo (not junk, brass case, usa made, not reman, and every other polymer gun I own runs it fine). When I ran 124gr nato, it ran better. I’m hopeful it’ll break in enough to not be as picky. Having ammo options is critical, especially if there is a shortage.

    • @gunpowderandprotein3444
      @gunpowderandprotein3444  Před rokem +3

      I absolutely agree. That's why I make a point to show those malfunctions. I went back and shot bulk and it still didn't shoot after the gun was far broken in. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!!

      @@Jay_812i will say once I ran a good amount of rounds through you could tell it functioned smoother. It may be worth running some more through to see. It won't lose anymore value doing so

      I have the 920P and my SO has the Hellcat RDP. I've shot them back to back. While the RDP shoots flatter and faster than the basic Hellcat, it doesn't hold a candle to the CR920P. The Hellcat's comp feels more violent and punchy than the CR's push.

  • @everyday3ah
    @everyday3ah Před 9 měsíci +1

    Has it gotten better or are you still having issues. I just bought one and have had a ton of failure to feeds in the first 400 rounds. All premium ammo.

    • @gunpowderandprotein3444
      @gunpowderandprotein3444  Před 9 měsíci

      It has gotten better yes. If you continue to have issues especially after a good amount of rounds reach out to shadow and let them know of the problem. If you're using good ammo issues shouldn't continue after 400 rounds.

    Does your compensator look roughed up down inside the cavity? After the break in period, i thought mine looked a little different. Never had a comped pistold before the CR920P

    • @gunpowderandprotein3444
      @gunpowderandprotein3444  Před rokem

      Not necessarily, it just has some residue build up which is to be expected. I have that with my other comp firearms as well

    • @Davidmoore-xy6wu
      @Davidmoore-xy6wu Před rokem

      Powder and any material shed from round fired will end up in the compensators port get break cleaner and a que tip and you can take care of most of it if your a clean gun snob you can get a plastic or brass pick and go it at with the pick and more cleaner your (the comp after 1000s of rounds will start to erode away and get pitted from the rounds fired , the cleaner the ammo the less this will happen ) hope this helps
