- A San Francisco mom is asking for urgency and accountability after a man allegedly yelled racist anti-Asian remarks on a Muni bus and even took out a stun gun at one point. Jocelyn Moran reports.

I love how whenever it’s attacks against Asian people it’s only ever just “allegedly”, or not labeled as hate crime.
The suspect has to be proven "guilty" in a court of law in order for "allegedly" to no longer be used. if the the suspect is not convicted yet, the charges are described as "alleged".
It is never alleged when somebody makes a derogatory comment about BLMs.

i grew up and took buses all my life in sf. theres many unhappy people (adults) who are angry and they tell us to go home to our
country. they do it on the 30 bus. its always been that way in SF. its just more blatant and
frequent now. its always easier to blame

Nothing's going to change here. I was surrounded and attacked by 12-16 of the usual suspects. Nothing was done. This was during an anti-Asian thing back when I was in high school. They attacked elderly Asian folks then went on to the younger ones. They even attempted to toss an Asian kid out the window. Bus driver didn't do anything.
Are we supposed to guess the suspect description? Where’s the surveillance video? Way to go, SF PC Squad. Guess they’re not taking it too seriously since no one is allowed to see it.

Possibly, although the guy I personally witnesed who had done something similar was white. Seems like many types pull this crap in SF, each of them clearly off their rockers. Not sure if there's just a single individual doing any of this. All of it is bad, though.

Parents need to teach their kids better.
My friend (Asian female) told me there were dudes that would leer at them in their school uniforms and sometimes whack off on the bus. Have to find a way to guide kids to make their own decisions and protect their own safety.
Sounds bad, but kids need to learn how to Jason Bourne their surroundings. Make a quick evaluation and come up with decision paths if something weird happens. Generations that grew up as kids without phones were way more aware of their immediate surroundings.

Like I said, observe every situation / person. Determine the danger level. And, come up with a next step (escape plan).
I grew up in suburbs of Baltimore and moved to SF after college. But when I was 18, I worked and stayed in Baltimore a bit late at night. I always had to be aware of my immediate surroundings. Not SF fake danger. Random shooting danger.

She gave a great interview, was poised, intelligent, and gave a clear perspective of the situation
I hope justice is served and her son and the other people affected gets the help they deserve

He described the man with the Taser as being African American, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 115 to 120 pounds and has close cropped hair. He wore a red leather jacket, skinny black jeans and black-framed glasses.
Share the video and let the public find the person to stop this type of hate crime. It is something that the public can do and you literally have a bus load of witnesses so please put politics aside and do the right thing to protect everyone in the city.
If the person they're referring to is the same one I came across months ago, he was also yelling racial slurs among other things to an Asian man I rode the bus with. Not only that, but he verbally announced he would pull his trousers down (and I think he unfortunately did but I dared not look because of the glaringly obvious) and had also threatened to pull a knife on anyone who stared at him too long around the same time.
Let's just say I'm glad I won't be dorming in the city for college anymore.
There so many cra cras in SF...even when u mind ur own business....they come out of nowhere to bother regular ppl just minding own business ....regular ppl prolly working butts off to survive the cost of living and paying tax to keep these lowlife hanging around that aren't even contributing to society😢

Something like this unfortunately happened to me and my friend recently. On the 29 coming from stonestown, anti-Asian slurs were yelled at us by a hispanic guy I’m assuming. Luckily it was just words from them, no conflict was involved. Nevertheless, this needs to be dealt with.

Since living in Idaho I've noticed that since me and most people here are white, the opportunities for hate and good ole racist behavior are severely lacking. We just didn't know how good we had it in the bay area until we left.

Every kid (non-wealthy) in a major USA city that goes to a school out of their neighborhood will take public transportation ie magnet schools, private schools, etc.

Idealism vs realism. We SHOULD be able to have our children be safe on public transportation, but we cannot live in the land of “what should be”. We must live in the land of what IS.

Muni is a public entity paid for by taxpayer dollars. They have no right or business or authority to deny release of the video.
Those involved in denying the release of the video shall be removed from there job positions. They can go work out in the real world where they have to earn a living in the private sector
