Indeed very nice video. Thanks to you, I can now show to my friends how was our journey. We did Auden's col Trek about 2 weeks before you (started from Gangotri on 19th May 2015 and crossed Auden's Col on 25th May 2015). We were the first team to cross Auden's Col this year. I can now see from this video what all changed in just 2 weeks. There were no fresh snow while going from Nala camp to Rudugaira BC. After we got down from Auden's Col, we did not use any rope while walking on Khatling.
No wonder Audens col and mayali pass is the holy grail of Indian himalayan trekking. One day. Loved the video. You guys are heroes!!
Thanks a lot
We did Audens Col in Sept Oct 2013. Didn't do Mayali Pass - this is an excellent video Medhavi! Very well done!
I read about some of the groups encountering serious snow on the Col and on Khatling - We were very lucky with glorious weather, reached Rudugaira and it started snowing but the next morning was fantastic - clear all day and we felt we were in a meadow with glorious views of the peaks all around.
Nalla Camp was also beautiful, no snow.
The real snow started after Rudugaira, closer to Audens Base Camp. Going down from Auden's to Khatling was tougher because the snow was less, but started snowing on the way to Khatling Camp. Khatling was totally full of snow and we were roped up, but fantastic day and brilliant trek.
We were benighted from Khatling to the snout but got there around 8:00PM!
All in all it was a fantastic trek!
You've done an excellent job with the video!!
Thanks a lot Abhay! I had done this in June, and it snowed almost everyday, like I showed in the video. Any season, this trek gives a wonderful experience I'm sure!
Awesome to watch. I am sure you folks had a great time. Surely it's on my list. Thanks and share more.
Thank you. We, we had a wonderful time. We did Kalindi Khal in 2016, I'll share that the next.
Hi Pamposh, good to see you here. Hope all is well with you and your family.
Such a fantastic trek. On my wish list. Though with age and deteriorating body, have curbed my passion drastically but today you reignited it. Thanks a ton. Let me get back to my fitness and start again what I love.

Thank you for those encouraging words!
Wow, that's so beautiful, the moonlit trail, the treks I have done don't even compare to this one.
Thank you. This is my all-time favorite trek!
@@MedhaviDavda too bad I wouldn't be able to do it anytime soon.. Dislocated my ankle on my last trekk..
Tremendous video. Awesome. I hope one day I'll also go there.
Thank you. All the best :)
+Abhay Raj Kapoor Thanks Abhay. I can imagine what you are talking about, can you share your pictures with me? For me Auden's Col was all about snow! It was our choice to do it in June to make crossing Khatling Glacier easier, but the climbs were very difficult. A very different experience it was. Mayali pass was equally tough, just that we were more acclimatized then.
Medhavi it's a great,👍 good job
Thank you so much
Excellent, congratulations
+ajoysodani Thanks a lot Sir :)
you guyz are awesome ... keep it up
+Akash Vats Thank you!
Salute to the indomitable spirit, Ms. Madhvi Davda 👍
We, 2 friends, are going for this trek in June 2022
Can this trek be done individually without help of trek organisers? Do you encounter any wild animals during the trek?
@@santhoshbhat7918, this trek can be done with the help of experienced guides n porters but the permit is made available to registered companies only. So, the guide will have to make all the things done. If you intend to go with individual guides, make sure that he has completed this trek earlier, a number of times and is having good company of porters/assisting guides.
@@deepindersingh5186bhai iska pta kese lgega or inka contact kaha milega?
Would love to take this trek.! The last time I trekked was from Gangotri to Gaumukh and back in one day. It feels awesome when you push yourself to your limits
:) Take this trek only after you have done atleast a couple of high-altitude treks of medium-difficult grade.
Medhavi Davda yes. I have to build up more endurance. I'm planning to trek for 250+ kms coming September-October covering Yamunotri, Gaumukh, Panch Kedar, Valley of flowers.. I don't intend to take this trek any soon. However could you please suggest me some high altitude treks in Uttrakhand before I could undertake this?
Regards
Medhavi Davda Thanks a lot :D
Brilliant vedio ..kindly update me current cost for this treck ma’m..

Virender dear, me too planning for Auden's Col in 2022
Awesome Trek,Wanna do that trek
Thank you. All the best
Amazing video! I wonder what camera you used to shoot the video clips, considering this was back in 2015 the quality is quite decent.
Hey, thanks a bunch. That's a great observation, i used #PanasonicLumix FZ200, a couple of shots are from gopro3.
brilliant
Thank you
Thanks Achintya. We had heard that some Bengali group had done the trek just before us, but didn't go to Mayali pass. I guess that was your group. Didn't know we would connect here if not there. And we did face a lot of snow, we used the rope on Khatling as a safety measure from the crevasses hidden under the fresh snow. We faced snow from day1.
Medhavi Davda Yes you are right. It was our group. Though we had plan for Mayali pass, we finally abandoned that after spending a horrible night (with out food and water ) below Auden's col. We were stuck in heavy snow storm after reaching Auden's col. Seeing your video I can now justify our Guide's decision of cancelling the Mayali pass. We got down through Ghuttu. We took same 11 days, but the experience from chowki to Ghuttu was a very nice one (green vegetatation, beauty of Bhilangana valley, staying in the small villages) as we almost got bored of snow after crossing Khatling.
You can see our pics here: plus.google.com/u/0/photos/108395677336544197861/albums
Achintya Kundu Hey, I just checked your pictures. I can mark the striking difference in the snow level then and later with us. Where exactly did you spend that horrible night? After descending from Auden's Col or on the top itself? Mayali Pass had heavy snow, it was a very tough task for our team to open the route. We encountered heavy snow till Kedarnath
Medhavi Davda Yes... after getting down from Auden's col, attempting Mayali Pass in that heavy snow becomes challenging even for the Guide & Porters. Nice to see that your team still finished both the Passes together. Let me put my experience of the horrible night here:
Horrible night at Khatling in Snow storm: It was 11.30am when we started climbing down from Auden's Col using rope. It was very windy and soon the snow storm started. Our Guide and half the Porters were the last to climb down. As their hands started to feel numbed, our Guide ordered all to get down asap. He said to the porters to leave all luggages (had food, cooking stove & utensils, few tents and some of our excess luggages) on top of Auden's Col and get down to save life. It was 2.30pm when everybody got down. A few Porters who got down at the beginning were carrying some of the tents and each of us were carrying sleeping bag & mat on our backpacks. As soon as Guide got down (the last person) he ordered to pitch the tents immediately instead of going further on Khatling in that snow storm. So basically our Khatling camp was just below Auden's Col. GPS showed the camp altitude as 5300meter. Snow storm continued till evening but snow fall did not stop till next morning. We managed with the available tents (4 people in 2 men tent and 6 people in 3 men tents). Without food and water we survived just by reminding ourselves about how Indian Army is guarding Siachen area. Could not sleep much as we had to periodically clear the deposited snow on top our tents. Next day morning around 10.30am weather became little better. Our guide and his assistant went back to Auden's Col and brough back all the items we left on Auden's Col. Finally at 12.30pm we just had a cup of soupy noodles and started running (yes literally running) on Khatling glacier. After crossing Khatling we kept on walking till 7pm when we reached a camp site where we saw some sign of life (some vegetation).
Achintya Kundu OMG!! What an experience!!!!! But I can imagine how it would have felt.
We too faced snow storm when we were on top of Auden's Col, and for an hour there was no visibility and we all were scared to death thinking about the frost bites! Luckily the weather cleared while we were descending. And we got back to life!
Medhavi Davda Just saw even India Hikes has shared your video in FB. I think it will inspire many (specially ladies who fear to go on advenure alone) to experience Himalaya atleast once in their lifetme. Btw, read your travel blog on McleodGanj. Very good write-up about the place. I am going there in October for Bara Bhangal Trek.
Bravo
Thank u
Hello ma’am
Wanted to ask if u did basic mountaineering course prior to this trek ..because this trek also have few technical sections…
Great mayali
Top vid of kohphiphi
Appreciated Ji
Thank u
Hello mam, from which trekking company we can book this trek and no of days of this trek. I'm eagerly waiting for your reply. Thanku
How much this trek cost you? any guide number through which we can go
Per head kharcha kitna hua....pls rply
How many cost on this treak
Hi Medhavi, this is stunning and truly inspiring video.
As it is one of the toughest Himalayan high pass trek, so want to know does it require to have any prior Basic/Advance Mountaineering skills to make myself technically strong before doing this trek? If you kindly share your experience.
Thanks. This trek isn't technical, you only need to use rope for descending. you don't need to do a mountaineering course if there is someone who can fix the rope for u (ideally the guide / trek lead)
Thanks
wonderful video..trek looks awesome ..would love to join your group incase if you have plans to trek this year ..:)
Thank you. I haven't sorted out my treks for this year yet!
Medhavi , first would like to congratulate you for such an incredible achievement. We are a group of 5 would like to do this trek in the first week of October. Pls suggest if it is doable in that time ??? Also needed to know about the guide. What you have achieved must have happened with a good guide. Pls help us with that also and also needed to know the approximate cost per head for this trek...
+Shuvro Bhattacharjee Thanks a lot. I'll connect with you on FB (I saw ur friend req) and talk to u there in a day or 2. Just transiting back from another adventure.
That guy skiing without the skis is real OP. 😅12:52

Which is the best month to do this trek and which trek organiser do u suggest..looks lovely.
June is the best month. I had done it with www.grandadventuresindia.com. Highly recommend them!
I echo Shyam Butani’s comment. I too have done Roopkund and even clambered up to Junar Gali. Audens Col is something I’ve been dreaming of doing. Please let us know which crew did you do this trek with? Contact details please.
siddheshwar wahi that's great. I've shared the details in the description of this video. Please check

Hi Medhavi ! Thanks for the Video and really appreciate your taste for the adrenaline. We are planning to go to this trek as well. Could you give us the details of the people who helped you for Trekking ? Was it India Hikes?

Hey ma'am nice video😊. Have you done bmc course? Is is necessary to do mountaneering course before climbing mountain?
Hi Hema, I haven't done BMC. It is not necessary to do the course if you are climbing with technical guides who have done the course. Also, if you are climbing very technical mountains, you should consider doing the course.
Through which group did u trek ??Had gone through your blog thumbs up to you !!
Thank you
loved it!!
Thank you
U did splinded job. But i haven't seen lake mussoorie tall that is before mayali pass. Which u called maser. Please carrier only necessary gear. Instead of chair should carry crampons. Be remember keep Himalaya clean. Thanks🙏🙇
Thank you Rakesh. It is Masar Tal.
Hey u have done this trek with which company!?
www.grandadventuresindia.com
stuck in my mind now. can I do this alone??? if I get to know about tracks and all? and mid Oct is favourable season to trek?
can't do it alone unless u are technically trained to cross crevasses. Can't be done in oct. Please go through the blog www.ravenouslegs.com/blog/audens-col-trek
Medhavi Davda thank you. yeah sure, I'll go through this, but as I am reading a lot about this, many sites have included Oct in best season to trek. idk, I rather trust you than sites. thanks again. :)
How many crevasses did you guys dotch?
