- Emmy-winning writer Cord Jefferson (Succession, The Good Place, Watchmen) sat down for a long talk about his new film, American Fiction with his friend and collaborator Mike Schur. An adaptation of Percival Everett’s novel Erasure, the film satirizes the commodification of Black artists - in a directorial debut for Jefferson that was highly lauded following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

AF is the best US feature in at least the past 5 years, maybe 10.
That said, the nugget from this interview was CJ's relationship with Percival Everett. That PE granted the rights for 6 months FOR FREE... that energy needs to be promo'd in our world.
Was waiting to hear them talk about adaptation, it felt like he took a lot of inspiration from that film
Have watched a ton of American Fiction Q&As. This one is the crème de la crème. Kudos Mike Shur. I don’t need to watch any others.
