Through all this supposed "hysteria" being caused by the music video, I'm actually kind of glad. Aiden's finally getting notariety for their work, in kind of a humorous way. I'm a Christian, but I'm not self righteous. The music Aiden makes is an art, not a depiction of church burning. They didn't show those depictions for "demonic reasons," they did it for a purpose. That aggression is what makes Aiden such an amazing band.

Ive been a fan of AFI since i was 7. They've been around for so long. Aiden has been influenced by AFI. I recommend checking out Black Sails In The Sunset, The Art Of Drowning, and Sing The Sorrow by AFI. Those are my favorite albums by them.

We're seeing now the results of this "magnificent cure" of religion. Humans can't seem to eradicate the need for religion in themselves. They fill it with something else. They have an incessant need for an ideology, and a group to go along with it. The need for a deity in this equation doesn't seem to be there, but a need for a Devil does seem to be there. Religious ideologies may cause barbarous extremism the world over. However, when you hear an American man screaming, "this is for healthcare," as he violently shoots and attempts to murder senators he views as ideological enemies, you may realize my point. I prefer we stay worshipping celestial dictators, over those the "enlightened progressives" are starting to coronate on earth. A lot of people don't like these guys anymore cuz they don't write music like the first two albums. Those were great but they grew into a real hardcore punk band and for my money, I've been to alot of shows and nobody brings it like AIDEN. As long as wil is on the Mike this band wil forever kick ass!
I came here after reading an article about an atheist-themed festival at Fort Bragg. I was upset to hear someone was planing on glorifying the burning of churches (I am not christian) but this song is not about hate it is about the hate hidden by the large organized religions and the damage they have caused to mankind. Glad I checked it out, good band, good message.
I think a lot of people are missing that this video isn't about hating religion, but about the terrible things religious people do to OTHER RELIGIOUS PEOPLE. what christians do to muslims, muslims do to jews, and so on, the terrible things people do in the name of religion, or because their religion told them to. it's pointing out how they are all doing bad/wrong. And how we need to get away from that. used to listen to Aiden years ago, but fell out, found them again, as an Atheist, so happy!

Yeah about 4 years ago my cousin introduced me to them and the first song I heard was "knife blood nightmare". But "The Last Sunrise" has to be my top still. :) but I still consider them dark punk instead of emo which is what most of the kids label them as, but there instrumental parts are definitely derived from alternative/punk/hardcore etc.
And the awesome part is... i am 12 and i get this point but some people dont ~.~ they just need to open their eyes and notice there are people of different religions etc.. but they are still good people, and it pisses me off how people dont even give them a chance before judging them..
I see the emphasis having slower tempo gives their songs, I think they should release an album of all of these songs plus newer versions of their older ones, fast-paced. It would be great.. lol
