for those who want their guitar to sound like this:
set your guitar's tone knob to like 75%, and switch to the neck pickup (if its a humbucker in the neck). amp settings should be around 2 o clock for the bass, 11oclock for the mids, 10 o clock for the treble
do you recommend a certain guitar? or any guitar with a humbucker in the neck?
I'd do the opposite honestly. I scoop the mids, I would use 10 bass, mid 3-5, treble 6-7 gain 8

probably because Serj doesn't use a technique, he is straight up raw. While its unhealthy it sounds the best imo, because its the realest of real. Thing is tho he doesn't do this anymore. Understandable without a technique for screams, but I would wish he at least gets lessons now and gets heavy again, his new singing style gets on my nerves.
@@joshuafult84 Love to hate you said lamb of god. I loved their vocals until I jammed with an excellent cover band and heard the singer almost match the tones. I was like, wow, bro. He's liked it a lot of processing and showed me his setup. It was almost like autodyne for metal. It sounds killer, but I doubt Serj has any processing and could fill a room with his voice. I tried that dude set up, and it's a safety net bc I didn't have to project at nearly the volume I assumed. Thus, I could change the attack of my vocals way easier around my natural tones..... ps I still warm up with ashes of the wake, and if the bug gets me, I still can play every song off that album. Such a stand on its own feet record reminds me of la exorcists groove

I listen to a lot of extreme metal, but it doesn’t get madder than this.
They’re genuinely mad with righteous anger in this song, it’s more powerful than any “flesh-churning” deathmetal.

this version is just too polished. studio version has much more crushing guitar tone and Serj also did a lot better job with his insane growls in studio version. in here, i miss many of them.

Now though I be belting out some system lyrics from their more obscure songs and people I work worth surprisingly often know the songs and we jam for a sec, not as often as I'd like but it happens and it's awesome. 2:32 ...in the late 90s when you had to spend a considerable amount of time downloading a 30 second video clip. I saw this track from 2:32 and was convinced, went out and bought the album, I was hooked on SOAD immediately. Fantastic album.

This a really underrated track, most of their songs from this album were very forgotten.
The very first concert I went to as a teenager was to see System of a Down, still hands down one of the best shows I have been to. SOAD's and Serj's music changed my way of thinking. Woke me up to how the world really is.

Sera "War?" es una canción de la banda de nu metal System of a Down. Se encuentra en su álbum debut al que le dan título, System of a Down. En el EP Sugar (1999) aparece una versión en vivo de la misma.
La temática de la canción es que la humanidad hace guerras por riquezas y otros beneficios materiales a través de los siglos e inventa razones para ello; una de las primeras razones es que Dios los mandó a la guerra. La lírica del tema da a entender que la guerra contra el comunismo y el terrorismo solo tiene como fin la dominación del mundo.
En el folleto del álbum, se observa aparentemente a la banda diciendo: «Nosotros primero combatimos a los paganos en nombre de la religión, luego al comunismo, y ahora en nombre de las drogas y el terrorismo» y que «nuestras excusas para la dominación global siempre cambian.»
