  • Hello and welcome to badger workshop. I decided to make a new stand for my AXMINSTER CRAFT AC1950B BANDSAW. The stand will hold some of my Stanley organiser boxes.

    Nice work. I will soon be locating a shop in a 10 ft X 6 ft shed and almost everything will be on casters to be moved outside and used under a roof extension on a neighboring building. I am exploring many ideas of how to do this and yours will be useful. thanks.

    Not sure why anyone would give this video a thumbs down??? A very good simple shop project, easy to understand and which any aspiring woodworker could easily achieve. Well done Matt.

    Howdy from Texas. I do enjoy your videos. You are so multi talented. I was wondering if you could do a video sometime to show how to make a leather flyswat. One of copper wire and leather perforated swatter. Also, a nice video of how to make clamps, and jigs for woodworking, and also for bending wire. Thanks for sharing!!

    That worked a treat. Great use of what would otherwise be 'dead' space :)

    I have the same bandsaw (bought 3 months before yours) and have been planning the same thing but with a door to keep out dust, and I have some scrap plywood. I have no excuse now. Regards from Great Lumley.

    Another enjoyable video. Bravo on using up leftover materials. You have reinforced my resolve to save 'scrap' material for one day....

    Good project and use of space. I'm just at the conception stage of my workshop build I'm planning. My work shop will be quite a bit smaller but hopefully your videos can give me some ideas. Thanks.

    Excellent👍The key points are it meets all your needs and for the most part used scrap materials.

    Love it! My favorite kind of project...easy peasy, scrap wood, casters, functional and it cost $0! Well done!

    Spot on, much better height. Never understood why they make bandsaws so low.

    Great video as usual, good idea to use up scraps . I had the same problem with my table saw, so I changed the fixed wheels to swivel wheels. This makes it a lot easier to move around the workshop.

    It looks better than your previous stand (although it has better joints ) because of the paint , i think darker wood looks more expensive !!!! Cool job!!!!!!

    My thoughts exactly size wise, another advantage is it will add some weight with all the tools stored underneath
    and help absorb any vibrations when in use. Big improvement in a small workshop to gain lost storage space. Tony

    Hi
    So I’ve just followed your Amazon link for the Wolfcraft corner clamps. Just do you know it brought up similar items by GYPINKLORY, not Wolfcraft.
    You’re welcome 😉

    Nice, higher work height for you must be better for your back too. 👌🏽
    Added storage and more manoeuvrability with 4 swivel castors, this thing rocks! 👍🏽

    Hi Matt, good use of scrap material and utilisation of redundant space. I might be worth a look at the C of G of your bandsaw. It looks a little too far forward on the base for best stability.

    Great video as usual Matt. I couldn't see the counter sink bits you use on any affiliate links, do you have one I could use, please?

  • @theflyingspaghettimonster3252

    Does anyone know how this joinery method (glued butt joint reinforced with screws) compares to pocket holes? Also, will the plywood shelves split if constructed in this way if heavier loads were put on the shelves?

    Hi matt, hate to ask you this but can't find an email to contact you on... its regarding the grey colour paint/stain that you finished the outside of your workshop with, it looks great... what's it called an where did you get it ? Big thx in advance

  • @frankblack1481
    @frankblack1481 Před 3 lety

    Perfect project. I, too, hate ‘dead space’ in my little shop so this is perfect.
    P.S: Sorry to be ‘that’ guy, but the
    Top screws that are plugged are ,technically, ‘counterbored’ not countersunk. All the wood screws on the sides are countersunk because of the screw head type.

  • @cliffphillips9952

    Matt. I have the same table saw as you but I didn't get the sliding table as I wasn't sure if I would use it and space is limited in my shop. It also had some bad reviews, how oo you find it and what depth material can you use with it.

      There is nothing wrong with using up scrap materials on a shop project

    • @mikedeman5351
      @mikedeman5351 Před 3 lety +3

      I disagree, David. It is a waste of time, energy and materials to make something more elaborate than is necessary. Not everything needs to be fine furniture grade, it just needs to be fit for purpose. I like when I see that a project where the maker understands this concept.

    • @davecoleuk
      @davecoleuk Před 3 lety +1

      @@Badgerworkshop actually it was nothing to do with using scrap, that is admirable and something we all try to do.
      It was more the drill and plug the top and bottom but not bother with the shelves, slap on the ink finish which looked like a single coat and was really patchy.
      More thought in to the shelves, I didn't see you glue those, not the way you thumped that shelf in to place. These are held with three to four screws per side in to a piece of plywood will not have much strength.
      The cardboard back is the sort of thing you'd expect from a very cheap piece of flat pack furniture where you would never see how ugly the back is.
      In the past you'd have rebated the back and finished it nicely, made a much better job of rebating the shelves. It isn't over kill it is producing something you can be proud of, yes it is just in your shed but you're producing a video to show your skill and this video didn't do that.

    • @Badgerworkshop
      @Badgerworkshop  Před 3 lety +4

      As I said in the video it was a finish I did not use and wanted to use up. All the parts were scrap with paint on and holes in. It will last for years. It’s a stand for a tool. Some project need time and money spent on them. Some just have to work.
