In my humble and almost insignificant opinion, we (humans) have tried to explain something that maybe is out of rationality and far from our comprehension, even with our most powerful tool, our logical thought. At the same time, and without any other source of explanation apart from logic, GOD is the creator of beauty, a structured system and at the same time an apparent chaos. A beauty that gives us the nature of people and things that open up an infinite opportunity for learning, a structured system under our limited capacity of analysis by logic and finally a chaos that perhaps, in a more fractal view, might bring us to an explanation that we (humans) have been intensively striving to reach. The problem is that we (humans) are not able to deal with a giant number of variables in a system called “chaotic” (Earth at the first glance and Universe in a much wider perspective). To sum up, the fantastic unexplained power of a GOD and ITS existence is not an easy task, which brings many explanation about the whole existence. Maybe logic, currently, is not powerful enough or wider enough to guide us for answers.

For me agnosticism concerning the existence of a God is perfectly fine. I have no problem with not knowing. Would I like to know? Sure. But I also feel that if there truly is a God who actually cares whether I know, then it's clearly up to that God to make itself known to me. It's not up to me to determine if God exists. Only God has the omniscience and omnipotence to make that happen. I surely do not.
What I can be quite sure of is that some specific religious paradigms describe a "God" that makes no sense to me. In fact, I'm convinced that their descriptions of God are clearly false due to the obvious self-contradictory nature of their descriptions. These include all of the Abrahamic descriptions of God. In other words, I'm convinced that if there is a God it's not the God describe in the Torah, Bible or Qur'an. If a God exists, it's far more likely to be described more correctly by various Eastern mystical religious paradigms such as Buddhism, or Taoism, or others. However, I don't even find those descriptions of God compelling.
So if there is a God, it's clearly up to he/she/it to reveal itself to me. It's not up to me to reveal myself to God. That would clearly be ridiculous. So it's a question that only God can answer. I'm simply not in a position to answer the question. I'm forced to be agnostic (i.e. without sufficient information to answer the question). And I have no problem with this. Apparently, if there is a God, God wants me to be agnostic. Otherwise God would reveal himself to me. Pretty simple if you ask me.

I really like your first paragraph. Even though I consider myself a "questioning" Christian, I pretty much agree with your statements in your first paragraph. I like your honesty about how you feel and how you approach assumptions and questions. The only statement you make for which I have an opposite feeling is your statement "I have no problem with not knowing." I myself get frustrated with NOT KNOWING when it comes to my perceptions/definitions of God. And I get frustrated when I believe something about God and another person believes something completely different that I do. I wonder why people have such different views of God? I guess the various cultures have a lot to do with it. Plus how people experience things in life. Right?

@@petertalgaard6540 You clearly do not understand the theological problem here. This isn't about me needing a God. I have no need for a God. If a magical God exist who would bestow me with wonderful supernatural gifts such as eternal life, then it's up to him to do that. It's not up to me to demand that he does it. It would make no sense for it to be up to me since I'm not the one who is omnipotent and omniscient.
The Abrahamic religions (i.e. Judaism, Islam, and Christianity) demand that you must acknowledge God. But that's because they claim to have a God who is so mean, cruel, and hateful, that he'll supposedly do mean things to you if you fail to acknowledge him. That situation is actually the hallmark of false cult.
All that needs to be true is that God is a nicer person than me. If that's true, then I don't need to acknowledge or ask God for anything, God will just be nice to me because, like me, he's naturally nice.
You say, "I know he will not enter if not invited". A psychologist can explain to you precisely why you believe that. Especially if there was a point in your life where it was extremely important to you to believe that a God exists.
But no truly benevolent God would ever insist on such a thing. So it's not a theologically sound principle.

Leviticus 4-31 'Then he shall remove all its fat, just as the fat was removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall offer it up in smoke on the altar for a *soothing aroma to the LORD* . Thus the priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.
Genesis 8-21 And the *LORD was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice* and said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things.

Leviticus 1-9 You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest is to burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, *an aroma pleasing to the LORD* .

It’s interesting how religious thought obscures the truth hidden in plain sight. A truth that is simple, elegant, includes everything and excludes nothing. Obviously, we’re all part of a Grand Mystery, so to contemplate whether God exists, or not, seems to be a bit of a distraction. A more poignant question may be, “Why, whatever existed prior to the Big Bang, did IT spontaneously divide itself into the wild, crazy, random unpredictability of creation?” Adding this line of enquiry has the potential to align our religious, spiritual and scientific narratives, and to assist humanity, once and for all, to inform us of our role in creation.

To me the concept of god is just supporting pillar to the promotion of a religion belief. To get followers to believe in their teachings, they must have a all mighty figure to promote.. a God. Someone or something they cannot question. Of course, in western religious concept it differs greatly from oriental concept in the aspect of beliefs but basically the god or gods are superior entities and need to follow their teachings...basically goodness pertaining to life.

@@rizwanrafeek3811 I would to reply to your posting. Let me reiterate my position. I am agnostic. I see no convincing evidence for the existence of any God, especially the Abrahamic God. However I am a truth seeker. The idea of a God torturing a human being in fire because the person doesn't worship him, I find morally repugnant to see the least. I do not believe either The Bible or The Koran is the word of God for obvious reasons.
Now to get to the heart of the matter.
" Christian sees God as Father".
You say and I quote " That is a false concept of God, there is no such of attribute of God exists". End of quote. Says who ?? Interestingly when Muslims engage in dawa to convert Christians to Islam, they make the point that they also believe in Jesus. However when Muslim dawa merchants present there dawa message to Christians they are less than honest. For example are you aware that Jesus called God "Father" 65 times in the gospel Matthew, Mark and Luke . He called God "Father" at least 100 times in the gospel of John. When the disciples asked Jesus how they should pray, He said in Matthew 6 :9---13 " This then is how you should pray, " Our Father in Heaven". If as a Muslim you claim to follow Jesus why don't address God as Father when you pray to him?
Now let us now look at Judaism and what the prophets believed. The Prophet Malachi wrote and I quote " Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us......? 2 :10 Isaiah 63 :16 and I quote " Doubtless thou art our Father". In first Chronicles it says "......Blessed are you Lord , God of Israel Our Father from eternity to eternity". Incidently, this was later included in the morning service in the synagogue. So you have no basis for saying that the the concept of God is false and no such attribute of God exists. Btw, when Jews and Christians address God as Father, it is not in a literal sense. It is a figure of speech. It is to convey God's love for mankind.
"Muslims see God as a slave master and he or she as a slave".
I quoted the Islamic scholar NoumanAli Khan from his talk given 5 years ago entitled " Why is the Koran in arabic". This is what he says and I will highlight it. I appears to me that you havnt listened to his entire talk. I will give you three statements from that talk. I will highlight the first statements. He says " BUT THE ENTIRE PREMISE OF THE KORAN IS THAT YOU ARE A SLAVE .HE IS THE MASTER WHICH MEANS YOU COULD NOT BE IN A LOWER POSITION OF WEAKNESS". End of quote. Also he goes on to say " And they're losing the fundamental premise with which we approach the Koran We are slave. He is master. He also says " The Koran is actually putting us not in a position of a consumer but in the position of a slave". Nowhere does he talk about where in the Koran about God's love is 70 times greater than that of a mother. I believe this is a hadith. That hadith contradicts the Koran. The whole reason for his talk is tell Muslims that they they should not be questioning why Allah revealed the Koran in Arabic because they are slaves and he is the master. One last quote from talk to prove my point. He says " I don't have to explain to you the benefits of the Arabic language. That's why Allah choose Arabic or look how beautiful the Arabic language is. And Allah made it easy and all.Thats All secondary man. You're the slave. Who are you to ask dude"? When I listen to talks like this I am not surprised so many Muslims are leaving Islam. I don't think I will be converting to Islam any time soon. What do you think?

Where did Billy Grassie get this idea from that God is not the father of anyone or anything ?????????
Billy Grassie is not muslim but through logical subtraction, Billy Grassie has come to understanding God is not a father, that is exactly the position of God of the Quran and the God of the Torah.
_"For example are you aware that Jesus called God "Father" 65 times in the gospel Matthew, Mark and Luke . "_
You seriously believe, Muslims believe in the NT as the words of the God as God revealed revelation???????? NO.
Not to mention NT also says Jesus never called his own Mother as Mom, instead, Jesus of NT called his Mother as 'woman', violation to Ten Commandments (one of the Commandment).
We don't believe real Jesus (pbuh) ever did something like that to his Mother.
_"Now let us now look at Judaism and what the prophets believed. The Prophet Malachi wrote and I quote " Have we not all one Father? "_
No Jews or Muslims believe that the God of the Torah literally begotten a son like creations do on Earth, whereas in the Christians believe so, Christians say that "Jesus is the only begotten son, who is also divine". This is the problematic belief for Jews and Muslims.
_" "Muslims see God as a slave master and he or she as a slave"_
That is in service to God. God have power over everything and in the OT Jews were called servant of God, ask me for quotation.

That is not all we can do; we can all wonder. But what will lead us to the truth?

    'Read' God says 'read'.

He also tells you to 'say'.

Reading and speaking are two very important acts we humans do all the time.

When you say, you believe it; otherwise you can't say. When you think about it, that is when it is not yet believed.

You only say things you believe in - unless you want to lie about it.

Sometimes, you can't even say what you believe in. For example in politics, you have to refrain from saying what you believe in - unless you have the proof.

When you go to your doctor, you say your symptoms. Then, the doctor can diagnose what may cause your symptoms. The doctor may believe the cause of your problem when he sees the result of your test.

Saying and believing are two separate acts. However, usually seeing is believing. But reading is a better thing to do.

You should only believe in black and white - first. You can then see the color too.

God exists, but He is in the form of A SPIRIT. The almighty God had a problem: He knew the future and that was a bad thing. We could talk about many hypothetical futures, but eventually ONLY ONE WELL DETERMINED future will come TRUE. Well, God knew that ONE future. But, if that future is the one which will really become true, then God had just to LET IT UNFOLD exactly like it is, He was NOT supposed TO CHANGE IT: God CANNOT DO ANY MISTAKES in his knowledge of the future ! Even worse, that ONE future INCLUDED ALL FUTURE GODS ACTIONS, this means that GOD WOULD BE OBLIGED to take EXACTLY ALL THOSE ACTIONS. What was the SOLUTION to this problem ? When in a remote past God knew the WHOLE future, He simply COMMANDED his power "SO IT SHALL BE (but without me)". That's all. By doing so, God avoided LATER OBLIGATIONS to PERSONALLY and EXACTLY take all the God's actions set out in that WELL-DETERMINED future. God cannot be "obliged" to do things !!! God's work was OVER, He was immediately FREE from any other duty, He would even be free to GO AWAY! This means that God is NOT here now and that the God's words are automatically spoken by his power (a thing) alone. Since we hear the God's words but NOBODY is here, we say that God is a spirit ("God is a spirit" John 4, 24). He is the "Spirit of God". This means the almighty God ONLY dwells in that remote past ("the world has not known you") and nobody ever saw Him. Thus, the almighty God is absent, just his power is here. Jesus in heaven indeed sits only next to THE POWER of God. But God - due to his power - even from that remote past is able to reach us now.

Thanks for your question. God is a conscience being, therefore you can address God as HE, in Islam God is not a male or female.

Narrator at 3-52 says Christians "'God' is Greater, more Perfect", however as far as Islam is concerned there is no perfection in the God, should God demanded killing Jesus(pbuh) for his blood or manslaughter for mercy and salvation, because 'God' Himself has to *frame* the evil killing blameless prophet of God i.e. Jesus (pbuh), 'God' Himself has to *honor* the evil killing blameless prophet of God, 'God' Himself has to *endorse* the evil killing blameless prophet of God, 'God' Himself has to *participate* in the evil killing blameless prophet of God, and 'God' Himself has to *accept* the evil killing blameless prophet of God, I know in my heart none of these is valid before the God or stands before the God. Isn't it mentioned in the Christian's "holy-book" God tempt no one to commit evil????????????????????
Should God forgives those who turn to HIM in whole sincerity, it never violates God's majestic nature.
Thank God I am a Muslim, *I love the notion God saved Jesus* (pbuh) from humiliation, torture, nakedness and near death ordeal from enemies of God and enemies of Jesus (pbuh), just like God saved many prophets from near death ordeal, but Christians generally don't like the idea saving Jesus, as you know not killing Jesus (pbuh) means no salvation waiting for Christians.

It is an insult to an injury, when Jews rebel against God, plot to kill Jesus and then you Christians turn around and say it was the will of God and God planned the killing Jesus for your salvation is an an insult to an injury.

The irony is that according to the father of analytical psychology wether you are an atheist, agnostic, deist, panentheist, panpsychist, pantheist or theist etc what we all share is an hierarchy of values and what ever is at the top of that hierarchy of values functions as “God” for you. It may be a “god” that you don’t believe in or a “God” that you can’t name but it is irrelevant. Because the fact is that what ever you think about this concept, highest value, ground of all being/God/that of which nothing greater can be conceived at the top of your hierarchy of values has very little impact on how your “god” is acting in you!!
Equally, the irony is that there are plenty of creation myths and “gods” to choose from, especially if you’re a strictly reductive materialist, atheist or philosophical naturalist. There’s the god of the Big Bounce, The Bubble universe god, The god of the eternal Steady State universe used to be quite popular until the “Big Bang” came along and burst that bubble. There’s also the Black Hole universe god, Simulation universe god, Flat Earth universe, Plasma electric universe god, The gods of Electric light Orchestra universe etc. Not to mention the god of the mystical, magical, invisible multiverse!!
The list of gods of relativism/ atheism goes on but some of us just go one god of relativism/atheism further by believing that a random, accidental, meaningless, blind, mindless, pitiless, merciless, cosmic god of mishaps and random atoms and brain chemicals creating the illusion of stable patterns and regularities just did it.
Basically, militant atheists deny one less god of relativism than theists do. Militant atheists don't believe in the 2,999 gods of relativism/atheism in the whole of the scientific literature and history because they have been debunked by science as it is a constantly changing landscape regarding what (is) not what (ought) to be!! And theists don't believe in just one more god of atheism/relativism!! Theists don’t believe in just one more god of what (is).
    Gotcha!! drum roll, kerching (Applause).
The fact is that the “natural sciences” can’t prove anything as they are provisional and can only infer. It’s a constantly changing landscape regarding what (is) not what (ought) to be!! This is why Dawkins appeal to the “natural science’s ” in matters of epistemology, metaphysics, meta ethics and meta logic is comedy gold and is hilarious!!
“You can not get an (ought) out of an (is)” - (David Hume).
Equally, the irony and the absurdity is that some of us just go (one god of pond slime evolved to an higher order) further that magically created truth, that is magically created value claims, ought claims, the prescriptive laws of logic, the uniformity of nature, conscious agents and free will, that is rationality itself, inductive reasoning, identity over time, empiricism, the one and the many, the myth of the given etc!!
The list of metaphysical presupposition’s and immaterial, invariant conceptual realities, that is transcendental categories goes on!! None of which can be grounded in the sub set of science known as the “natural sciences”.
“Science progresses funeral by funeral” (Max Planck).

God is only known by experience. Experience is not a feeling. It is knowing. Read SWAMI Vivekananda (there were no Hindus in this episode). Read Lillian Dewaters’ post- enlightenment writings- Light of the Eternat, Who Am I, etc. The answers are not in the ivy covered walls of academia. You must experience god; when you experience god, you will know, and your knowledge will be beyond rational articulation. You know you exist, but you absolutely cannot prove it or articulate how you know it. But it is the only thing you know first hand, beyond the mediation of the senses. In the same way, you will know that God exists. This is the promise of the mystics. There are many paths, but academia is not one. Academics have second hand knowledge. God can only be known first hand.

You are afraid of religion and your fear is quite normal... Religious people misinterpreted the concepts and Teachings. As you can't understand the science and scientific concepts without learning them by yourself by mere conversation with scientists you don't understand religious beliefs. There are only few of religions, study them by yourself with true intention that if truth reveals it self you will accept it without any fear of surrender And hesitation
