The brothers did a nice install and only one bug was harmed in the process 😂🤣😅 You nailed it with " lack of care " You care enough to make sure your work is quality so you have a good reputation so much that customers ask for you to do their work. He obviously didn't care.
👍🙏
Mike is not going to find a stand-up older Hvac guy. Finding young men and training them and treating them like family is how his business has thrived. The problem with finding an older technician is he will not like Peter or Daniel trying to show them anything. It's an age thing. So any new hires will have to be same age as Peter or Daniel or younger.
Reputation and Work Ethic are Obviously Important to You and it’s a Great Asset nowadays. Keep up the Strong 💪 Efforts because you’re in Short Supply. 👍🙏
I have the same furnace, Lennox Whisper Heat G20, 75000 BTU, built in 1989. My father in-law had it installed in 1990. We bought the house from him 6 years ago, the furnace has never given us or him a problem in 34 years of service 👍
Whisper heats were notorious for cracked heat exchanges because they used their dura-curved design. The damper was the first thing to open on a call for heat and had an end switch to prove it opened. Very odd unit.
Awesome video. Been a long time viewer of Mikey pipes and have enjoyed your videos as much if not more for your calm demeanor in explaining things but never taking anything away from your boss who is funny as well as very educational as you are sir. But I give you great credit to being honest enough to show the faults and bullsh*t one as*hol# can cause and you documenting it on video which gives great credit to the company you work for as being true, absolutely true professionals in your trade. Thank you for work, educating the public, and entertainment your videos provide to the world.
I think you may have installed the plenum upside down. The flange was supposed to adapt duct to furnace. Normally the vinyl flex connector is installed above the plenum. Just installed 2 new HVAC systems yesterday. We are a small 3 man operation with over 42 years field experience. Keep up the great work Daniel and Peter. Mikey is very lucky to find guys like you. I can see you guys running Pipe Doctor New York location very soon when Mikey makes the big move to Florida. Cheers !!
Peter, Daniel, and Mikey owners.
No the ductwork only fit one way. Different measurements. I didn’t measure it out. I didn’t sell the job.
Those Lennox G20 Whisper Heat furnaces were one of a kind. They were 80% efficient but were natural draft. The nice thing about them was they didn't require the chimney have stainless steel liner. The damper door would open on a call for heat similar to a boiler flue damper. Overall they were pretty reliable, but a little hard to work on the pilot assembly.
Yes, a lot of those were installed in the Midwest to avoid flue liners? I’m assuming somebody’s coming back to install a flue liner on Daniel’s job 🤷🏻♂️.
I applaud your work ethic Daniel!
Kind of Funny you treating this like an alien furnace:)… in the Midwest we see those all day long… was just like my old one!
Have fun getting that filter out. Lol
Fun fact: I live in Rhode Island and East Providence is 10 min away from the Taco water heater company here in Cranston, Rhode Island. 😎
You’re close to amtrol as well….
with the cost of parts for the weil mclain ultra boilers you may as well buy two and use the second one for parts.
Installed the switch box in front of your filter rack… been there before… nice install boys 👍
A Lennox Whisper Heat !!
Man I installed a ton of those in the early 90's here in Houston,,, and they really were whisper quiet,, you could BARELY hear them light and the quality was excellent..
That's when Lennox really built a hell of a piece of equipment !!
Thankful for those Campbell brothers 😊
ahh the error was the switch placement. Good catch!
I would of put that furnace on a 12inch box. It helps with return air and would of helped you with your plenum. You do very nice work!
The next size up ( Rheem / Ruud ) requires a lift box for the return. I don’t believe the hundred thousand BTU model requires a lift box. It does require a flue liner for that Masonary Chimney or a dilution air kit (only if the chimney passes the seven times rule).
Yes the good old Whisper heat. They were beasts!
trust me , they are not. horrible. design.
Good help is hard to find....but clearly you guys already know that 😂
The electrical switch makes it hard for the home owners to change the air filter
Yep. Had to move it.
my sister in laws house had a huge furnace on a tiny 1200 square foot house I put in one half as large and it was still more than enough her farthest away bedrooms never got warm because the heat never ran long enough with that monster, and somebody had thermostat set for hot water heat with anticipator setting all the way in wrong direction.
I usually pull the heat exchangers out on the big Lennox Whisper Heats. Saves your ass with tight stairwells in expensive homes
Jesus I’ve never seen anyone do that before… that’s scary
There is a lot of type of areas in plumbing so not every plumber with 10 years experience has installed heating equipment his error was not saying that he didn’t know
Those whisper heats crack at the first turn in the heat exchanger. Look at it from the burner side.
Bill , you are correct . Small cracks can always be found at the first turn of the heat exchanger on these older units, much like the old Lennox G8s. They normally don’t cause much air disturbance or problems but a crack is a crack .
Dammmm Daniel you have firing privileges bestowed upon you…you’re like mikes foreman….that’s a lead hammer isn’t it….yesss the pimp robe I’m never gunna stop mentioning it
My neighbor has the Whisper Heat. I think her's is mid 80's? On that furance install you did, I noticed the gas valve was missing and also, I see you have the power switchn right in front of the slot for the air fitler, and no filter in the slot.
That furnace has to be newer than 1979. 1979 was the first year for those yellow-ish energy labels on gas appliances. My guess is very late 1990s. I had a building with a gas steam boiler from ''94 -- -- 1894, it did what it needed to do in a multifamily building; the only problem was it was covered in about four inches of crunchy asbestos plaster, I didn't want to touch it.
100 % that lennox is cracked. ur not looking at the right location. they tend to crack on the back side of the hex.. look into the combustion burner and look at the bends at the back. cracks happen mostly closest to the return side.
In his mind he was like im not going let a kid fire me.😂Dude...the guy literally told Peter he left alot of stones unturned? Wth?..he didn't like you guys 😅
The “Whisper Heat” was a rated 80 per cent due to spark ignition ( that was a colossal failure ) first generation. Lennox had a recall on the ignition system and paid contractors to replace the ignition module two years after its debut. Once the repair was made it was a very good unit.👍👍🇨🇦
At 8:20 you mentioned you fixed the error that you had previously mentioned. What was it lol i keep looking but not catching. At first i thought it was no gas cock, then i was thinking electrical infront of the filter, now im just left curious af lol. Nice install though 👍🏽
Keep up the good work Daniel. make the trades great again brother. Smash the like and subscribe.
Sweet hammer
SO he was old enough to know he was going to get fired. He knew
Don't worry, crickets are harmless
That wasn’t a cricket
About how many of your recommendations to replace a unit go through where they replace the entire unit?
Unfortunately, a brand new unit will not last near as long as this one did
It’s Difficult, if Not Impossible, to Find Someone who gives a Damn and is Willing to Earn their Paycheck. What is it going to take to get them to Understand ? 🤔👎
You got so many new guys. Which one is which? lol
Is there a video of that new guy ?
No
Lennox Whisper Heat manufactured in February of 1994. Great furnace but getting old.
Dude get into a union shop u seem to know what you’re doing….. make the jump to 638 u won’t regret it
For the furnace replacement, a service switch is still required since the breaker panel is in pissing distance?
Was the error was that you blocked the filter with the power switch ??
Yes
@@DCHVAC Lol
Good vid but……we’re you at the playboy mansion after work or??? 🎉
bud!!!!you definitely have canvas connector backwards
you gonna to have to reverse you'll may be overheating the canvas being so close to the heat exchanger
I didn’t have the ductwork made. It wouldn’t fit the other way.
And it’s not gonna overheat, we see it all the time
Ahhh man...that bug squash was so awful. Ahhh Peter
lol 🤢
flip your plenum adapter around.....cut the furnace flange off the old ductwork and drive and S the canvas there....new furnace flange down on new furnace......whats with all the B vent equipment in NY? no upsales to 636? What happened with the new plumbing guy wth the nickname? the funny one
now i see the dimensions are off.....very weird indeed
They’re two different measurements, canvas wouldn’t fit the plenum.
@DCHVAC ya I saw that after I opened my big mouth.......proceed
Where you on Mikey pipes or trained by him
I work for him, I went to school for HVAC he didn’t train me.
161 thumbs up
No way. How old was he?
How long did that furnace job take?
4 hours cause Peter had to drive to the supply house to get everything we needed
I spot no rubber grommet on gas line going into furnace
😂😂😂
dan ,your lucky you don't work on oil you would really see screwed up jobs
who quit ? Dover?
Peter
Whats the name of your company if you don't mind me asking I'm in the bronx loong for work willing to learn and adapt
We’re not looking for employees from the Bronx. We’re on Long Island.
Was the new hire the Douv guy?
No. Peter.
#1🎉😂😂😂😂
Who is the fired guy?
The “other” peter.
Peter the bad
Lennox whisper heat
Not bad furnace but getting old
Filter block
Yup
40 year olds know what they want. They having some midlife crisis😅
Second
i dont want to work for your boss
If that’s truly the case then you must be a garbage plumber with no pride in your work, or no work ethic.
I was going to fire him - for reasons that I concluded.
If mike had been there with him, seen first hand what he did, I’m sure he would have fired him much sooner.
It only took me so long to realize how retarded he was because I lack the years of knowledge and experience he has.
you better be carful some bleeding hart democrat might turn you in for killing that bug.
Where are Mikey’s videos?
Must got the bat flu or looking for Josh at work lol
He had one today. Zone valve, therm wire fix.
DC has better content. Does a great job and takes care of customers in a pleasant manner. That's the way a service business is supposed to be run.
1994 not too bad
