  • #Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) is the single query language to explore, query, combine and process ALL of your observability data stored in Grail.
Whether its identifying problem hotspots in your infrastructure, extracting business data from your logs or quickly accessing all relevant observability data for a particular application, container or host: Those and many other questions can be answered through DQL.
Watch this tutorial where Peter Zahrer, Principal Product Manager at Dynatrace, walks us through DQL by giving hands-on examples on common use cases. He is crafting DQLs from scratch and explains every step along the way!

Is there a planned LLM or integration with an AI chatbot that will allow you to create DQL queries with regular language? Thank you!

Hi. At our Perform User Conference in February this year we already showed that leveraging LLMs and Chat is something we are actively looking into. check out the mainstrage sessions!

Thanks. Are you planning on backporting some of these new functionalities into existing Dynatrace tools?

    • @grabnerandi

Hi. There are no plans and there is also no need to backport because all these capabilities will become availalbe by default to our customers

@@grabnerandi Thanks, so this is basically a more customizable replacement of old features

@@kucera_jan Hi. I wouldnt call it a replacement but rather an evolutionary step forward in how to analyze all your observablity data that is stored in Dynatrace Grail

@@grabnerandi Yes, but the old tools are destined for legacy when comparing features that become available. We will see in practice, thank you.

this is a demo, not a guide. if you want a guide, this guy actually explains the commands in decent detail czcams.com/video/RAtId3P8C6I/video.html. You need a least some experience with DQL before watching this video
