I am old enough to remember the original Knight Rider series on TV, I was also excited when I heard they were rebooting it too. Wasn't overly keen on the vehicle switch but, when i started watching the reboot I did enjoy it. I loved the OG music too, but I also love the remixed music of the 2008 version too. Anyone who is a real fan will appreciate it regardless. Just a pity they didn't give it a season two as I would have watched it. 😎

Although technology wise KITT has advanced a lot but it seems the gadgets weren't pathbreaking. Remember What the original KITT ( two thousand) did was project the future. I am sure if you check CZcams in the old series he used to state, "I am the car of the future". In this one they didn't show any advanced system or prototype related to automotive technology as a part of his gadget assembly.
Fun Fact: that drum beat sample at 0:15 is Beat 27 from Industrial Toolkit. It's also been used in the Half-Life 1 track "Hard Technology Rock". (Please don't ask how I noticed this, I just did lol)
The pilot film was bad, but the series itself is pure technical awesomeness. It's a shame they only made 19 episodes. I still hope for the "Germany effect" like it was on the very first Knight Rider when all the Germans watching it made protests to continue it. :)
Ayyy, I remember I was a snotty 14 years old little brat when this show came out. The old-timers all dissed on it at the time and I always had this second hand guilt because of that In retrospect the show had that sweet sweet late 2000s cheesy edge, meaning that in the most positive sense.

Coincidentally, James Gunn, director of The Suicide Squad, said he was interested and even David Hasselhoff himself was excited and agreed with James, but apparently what stopped them was that the rights to the series are in the hands of someone who doesn't really like negotiating well.
I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in making a retro styled intro, the car and music from the Modern Knight Rider and the camera shots and stuff from the original show, that would make a freakin epic Modern Knight Rider intro
There's a detail I just noticed and I liked it. When KITT activates attack mode the cobra on the rear badge from a side view turns facing us with its hood open, like its ready to strike
If I'm not mistaken, that's also a reference to the old Shelby GT500 (best known as Eleanor from Gone in 60 Seconds with Nicholas Cage). I also think the long taillights KITT gets in Attack Mode are also a reference.
The drum at 0:14 is also present in the original theme. It's hard to notice unless you're an enthusiast, but Christopher is probably a hardcore enthusiast. Of course it can't beat the original, but I can feel a lot of respect for it, and I don't dislike this theme either.

Dont get me wrong, this version of KR wasn't bad, but it really wasnt THAT good either, I like Kilmer as KITT, I like the mustang, but seriously, WTF was with the shape-shifting-modes nonsense, It was a bad idea in the original, and terrible here.
