I can definitely see why the series tanked. Too much flash, not enough substance. The original KITT kept it simple, but VERY effective and very classic.
Not to mention, that the Knight Industries Car was programmed to protect human life, especialy the driver's one. And we can clearly see at 3:13 that the car now definitly would've killed his opponent with those machineguns. And there the authors are wondering why the fans of the original series didn't like that new one

While the original customized Pontiac Firebird will always stay as the ideal K.I.T.T. car, I quite enjoyed the Mustang Shelby GT500KR. It just makes more sense to have K.I.T.T. be a regular, albeit a special kind of vehicle instead of a custom one of a kind (well not really lol) black wedge of awesomeness. Probably should've kept the transformations just to the Attack Mode and even then, I would've preferred the smaller-winged, more subtle version from the pilot instead. K.A.R.R. was awesome though and genuinely made me feel scared as a kid.

This show wasn't great or ground breaking but it was pretty decent and they atleast didn't do a reboot but a continuation. Even showing 2 of the trans am KITTs in the garage. I just wish it made a cameo in the show at some point too would of been cool. It had potential but people bitch about change. Sure the KARR transforming thing was too Transformers for me but it wasn't as bad as people make it out to be and if it had been branded as something else and not used KITT etc but been about an A.I spy car I'm sure people would of eaten it up. The cgi was sub par though but again the plot and everything else wasn't that badly done or thought out. I like it. I like both of them.
