- William Reckless was just three when he was struck down by sepsis in January 2020. After a three-month battle in hospital, the sepsis caused irreversible damage, resulting in William having both of his legs and nine of his fingers amputated. Four years on and William has just undertaken a mammoth four-mile challenge - walking a full two miles on his prosthetic legs and then cycling another two miles using a hand bike - raising nearly £8,000 for Nottingham Hospital charities. Now, as a nominee for the Just Giving Awards, we meet the inspiring eight-year-old William alongside his mum Gemma, dad Mike and sister Georgia.
