Dolomiti Superski
Holders of a Dolomiti Superski pass can use the lifts and slopes in Kronplatz. The area is connected to other resorts in the region. For example, the Piculin cable car opened in 2007 gives visitors access to the Sellaronda resort. A ski bus shuttle service running every 20 minutes connects Kronplatz to Alta Badia.
FAQ's
Q: Is Kronplatz good for beginners?
A: No, not really. Best suited to intermediate or advanced skiers
Q: Is Kronplatz snow sure?
A: In this day and age, what is snowsure? So, given the investment in snow-making here and in the Dolomites, generally speaking, I'd have to say 'yes'!
Q: Is kronplatz part of Dolomiti Superski?
A: Yes! You can buy a ski pass for Kronplatz or the Dolomiti Superski. To access other ski areas you can either take the ski bus from Piculin to Sponata (Alta Badia which runs every 20min - check times) or you can take the ski train from Percha to Sexton which is about 40 mins and is definitely worth the trip!
Q: Where is Kronplatz Italy?
A: Google Maps Link: goo.gl/maps/npasfxzHUWqCtcWg9 Kronplatz sits pretty much on the Italian-Austria border and is easy to get to from Innsbruck, Verona or Venice.
brilliant! Most Black runs on most mountains in the US are all moguled-out. I hate moguls. I can ski them fine, I just loathe them. Long groomed cruisers are my #1 favorite!
You definitely need to come to the Dolomites!
W❤️W! That’s Awesome And Incredible Adventure! Cheers!🥂❤️✨
We skied it yesterday in fresh powder. Visibility wasn't the best but it was a amazing ski down!
Awesome slope it seems 😮
It is and just one of the awesome slopes on Kronplatz!
Friggin beauty. On a pair of FIS GS ski that will be a hoot.
Always a blast!
great video, loved the commentary, TY
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wooow 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice! ... :)
Grazie very much Ivo!
Nice video, good to meet you on the chairlift at La Villa last week, best conditions and weather all week.
Ciao David! Yes indeed. Come back real soon!
Love this slope!
Me too!
At beginning you said fresh tracks? I see fresh courderoy groomers. No disrespect intended, it looks like a great run.
Super intro to Kronplatz. Where best to stay (thinking long weekend)?
such a great run. loved it. One of many on the ski safari venture programme. so sad I won't be doing it again this coming january
There's always next year Susan!
Me my self have gone to kronplaz multiple times. And I love the blacks here in italy
We love them too! Piculin is our favourite though.
Me to
Sorry for the late response
Beautiful video! I am curious to ask, why you don't consider Kronplatz as good for beginners? I am 38 years old and started skiing 8 years ago, but didn't collect more than 30 ski days in total so I consider myself a beginner. I was 2 days in Kronplatz in march this year and was completely blown away how good this ski resort is. I have never ever seen such nice, wide blue slopes as there. For me as a beginner skier those were 2 best days of skiing so far.
How would you rate this Sylvester slope? From 1 to 10 of all black slopes you skied so far, would you say it is on the easier or tougher side? I have never ever skied any black slope and eventualy I want to try one and would take one that is not so hard. Since I will be back in Kronplatz this winter maybe I will try one :)
if you want to try that slope, do as they did, do it first thing in the morning when its groomed. Corduroy !! it will make it far easier. if it gets moguley... it will be a real challenge. so stick to black groomed runs. first off in the morning is when you want to hit it. good luck.
Did I say that? Well, if I did, I am wrong! Kronplatz is like any ski great area, it has runs for everyone!
Could you ski Sylvester? As Jim says above, as slow, steady and thoughtful approach early in the day before the masses have made their impact and I am sure that you could do it. There are different lines to follow, so just take your tie, enjoy it and let me know when you've done it!
Actually you missed a little piece of the Sylvester slope, included two nice littel black wall, one of those inside the wood. That is actually a beautifull part of the slope. Instead, you went by the esiest variant of the slope, slowing down streight from the pic of the mountain
Hello Matteo, we started our run from Rifugio CAI where we had stayed. I am not aware of the varient that you mention. The goal is to film the main slope so that people can see what it's like. Thanks for your comment. I'll look out for this when I'm there in a few weeks time.
What month you were skiing? Was it crowdy?
This was filmed in December 2021 and we were the first down starting at around 08:30, so we had the freshly groomed piste all to ourselves - magic!
Хочу так же кататься, как эта бабуля!
Hey! That granny is my wife! And she's a great skier! ❤️
