    Very cool interview. Mick is a great musician. Always loved the typical vocal screams in Uriah Heep and Deep Purple (and later Judas Priest) which became a main influence on our songs \m/

    he MORE than holds his own here. & elsewhere. they're not one of my top 10 fave bands but mick is thoughtful, humble, philosophical & intelligent. so, after seeing this, i'm gonna go deeper into Uriah Heep than i've gone before & listen for more & keep a VERY mind. because of this excellent & thoughtful interview.

    It’s a bit scary if you look at the frontside of the Sweet Freedom album, every member has passed in that exact order… Only Mick is left and he’s the lat one, at the right.

    I was a UH fan until Byron left. I tried the first albums with Lawton and they weren't bad but something was missing. Then I saw them on German television where fat middle aged ladies with thick glasses where dancing on their music. Commercially that may be oke but it hadn't anything to do with my idea of rock&roll. I saw them a few years ago in small theater here in the Netherlands and they preformed as if it was their last gig ever. Very good!

    JoHN Wetton was David's good mate, he left UH because they fired David Byron, how come these rumours are brought
    ?

      John in fact said he loved David as a friend, kept in touch and went to his funeral. It was Ken who couldn't co-exist with David. But really, management never let these guys slow down, when in fact they should have taken a sabbatical after Wonderworld and tried to book David and Gary into rehab. Who knows?One of the great "what if's" in rock and roll.

    Mick get rid of BERNIE SHAW. HE CAN'T SING! RE-unite with Ken Hensley! Bernie Shaw does one thing really well. He butchers, David Byron "era" songs. After "Fred" David Byron in #2 all time of rock vocalist(historically)

    • @Triton63
      @Triton63 Před 6 lety +5

      Uriah Heep is living the dream and you're living in the past and missing out big time. Bernie Shaw is great. I don't think you have given him a chance because of that living into the past thing.

    • @ropesauce
      @ropesauce Před 6 lety +3

      Bernie Shaw is a amazing vocalist. Just seen them and was blown away by how hard these old guys rock! Bernie at 61 still has a incredibly powerful voice.

    • @stephensdygert7600
      @stephensdygert7600 Před 6 lety +3

      Jeffrey Dwyer I guess Sanctuary and BMG records are living in the past "thing". The first seven albums by Uriah Heep out sold all their other albums combined.They are re-issuing the whole catalogue. Bernie Shaw should be arrested! Guilty of musical butchery, in his unsuccessful attempts to sing Byron songs. Ask Mick Box why they do all those songs from the past "thing". Because they're the best songs the band has ever composed. With possibly the greatest rock singer of all time. Second to Freddy Mercury! Bernie Shaw SUCKS!!!!! When I watched the live at ko ko bluray. I felt like throwing up when he tried to sing "sunrise" from Magician's Birthday or "July Morning" from Look at yourself. Amongst other Byron gems. Rumor has it if Bernie Shaw ever attempts to sing "come away melinda" He would get the death penalty for musical blasphemy!

    • @Triton63
      @Triton63 Před 6 lety +3

      Stephens Dygert You're an official asshat with that comment about Bernie Shaw! If you don't like him, that's fine. It doesn't mean he SUCKS.I like him. David Byron drank himself to death. That rots but at least Musk and the guys still Rock'n'Roll for us. With all the illegal downloading that a big surprise. Where's you data for that boast by the way? Why should I believe some troll? I think "fans" like you suck! It's a different world for music now. It's all about touring and merchandise.
      Why do musicians always get RIPPED OFF? First managers and record companies now their fucking fans!!

    • @stephensdygert7600
      @stephensdygert7600 Před 6 lety +1

      Jeffrey Dwyer what are you talking about. Freddy Mercury died of Aides. Byron died of alcohol related issues, thats unfortunate. You you have no credibility when you start name calling. What is it with people like yourself. You people love to throw the word "troll" around, just because you disagree with someone elses opion. Little Advice, "Look at Yourself" like the song says.
