Great video, please do a follow up video to show us how you got on.
Thanks Pat! All fixed and filmed, just need to edit it and upload, I expect it will be some time early next week. Thanks for watching!
Great vid
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
My preference (assuming the cable damage is below the backbox) would be to chop out a new backbox below to hold some terminals and replace the burnt end. Cover with a blanking plate.
Yep that is a good idea and had been one of my plans, depending on how bad the damage was. Unfortunately it wasn’t an option that would work, as you’ll see in the follow up video next week. Thanks for watching!
Couldn't see if there was a grommet on one of the backboxes, I'm sure its there!
Yep there is, probably just not that easy to see on the video. Thanks for watching!!
I would have expected the RCD to trip and not just the MCB as the RCD should detect earth faults.
I'm not qualified and just curious as a theoretical question why is your MCB triped with over current and not the RCD with Earth fault? Is you earth cable continuity ok?
They both tripped every time actually, the rcd switch just doesn’t fall as far as the mcbs, so in the video might not have looked like it tripped, but I assure you both did! Thanks for watching!
Tripped circuit = RCD
Vertical screw heads = OCD 😅
Haha yes it is a little OCD, thanks for watching!
@@TheDiligentDIYer1759and a level for the socket as well. Totally approve👍
Why not just guess!!! Very dangerous for a DIY?
Thanks for sharing your opinion
