*FUN FACT:* The 'Br' and 'Ba' in Breaking Bad stand for elements Bromine and Barium. Bromine is a chemical used in the synthesis of Methylamine, which eventually is used to make Crystal Meth. Barium is a chemical used in radioactive contrasting, and something that Walt would've had to drink to diagnose and map his cancer.
Personally, this intro is just there for most of the show but then near the end, when they pull out the full version, this short 18 second song becomes so much more impactful and the buildup feels worth it
paulTHEboss Agreed, within 18 seconds this opening thrusts you into the atmosphere and world of Breaking Bad, proving superior to a long intro. The only exception for me is the 1 min 40 sec opening credits in "The Wire."
I actually would appreciate a longer intro but breaking bad's short intro is good enough to set the mood. My favourite intro however is The Sopranos intro.
Fun fact: When making the intro, Vince Gilligan only used normal letters instead of element symbols, but then two periodic tables came flying in and replaced the start of each word with the elements Bromine and Barium. Their acting was so good that they kept it in.
I remember that day, May the 17th of 2021. I decided start watching Breaking Bad, I knew nothing about this show, but holy crap, I wasn't expecting a show of this quality. This will be forever the best TV show I have ever seen, a truly masterpiece that only show up once in generations. Thank you Vince Gilligan.
Seriously, usually whenever I watch a show, I always skip the intro, even the catchiest ones I still skip them. But for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, these intros are basically un skippable for me.
Severus of Antioch It's so damn addicting. It was so hard for me not to do what you did. I really wanted to make it last at least a couple weeks because i knew it was only a once in a lifetime kind of show. Took so much self disciple haha. I strongly encourage you go watch Better Call Saul. I just started it after some reluctancy but really love it. It honestly feels like Im watching Breaking Bad again, it has that feel to it. Bob Odenkirk is such a great actor. Little slower, less action but ultimately just as good in my opinion. Give it a try
Severus of Antioch There are some rumors going around that another spinoff called "The Rise of Gus" could be in the making. Giancarlo Esposito (Gus) said he is all for it but I'm not sure how realistic it is for another one. WOuld be great I'm sure, though. Btw about to finish season 1 of BCS

A couple months ago, I had never watched a show before, nor was I really interested. I then found out this awesome website which was basically Netflix for free, and I decided to watch Breaking Bad and see where it lead me, as I had heard a lot of good things about the popular series. When Walter took the pieces of the plate out from the trash and pieced them back together, my jaw literally dropped. That was the moment when I realised this series was something truly special, and was also the start of a unhealthy binge watching spree. Best decision I have ever made.
@@RealCristianoPenaldo mine was a very unhealthy binge as well😂 I remember staying up until 7am watching all of season 3. I lowkey miss it. Some scenes I was standing in front of the TV watching it. I don’t know if there will ever be a show like that where I am that into it
There is nothing more powerful, than that scene of Walt at the bar, reminiscing on his crazy life, and as the theme is building up in the background, Gretchen and Elliott appear on TV and hurt his pride. As the police arrive and the theme reaches its climax, he vanishes, ready for one final ride.. as Heisenberg. So awesome.

Fawaz Shaikh thank you for finally clearing this up for me. I always watch it late at night and dismissed the difference in intros as me going crazy! I now have proof that they do actually differ hehe
But to be honest I'm glad it was short - bittersweet. Too many shows drag on unnecessarily, when they should have finished seasons ago, and then unfortunately turn to shit.
I love the whole schedule with words, and then it only takes two for each two words, and the smoke that comes afterwords for Breaking Bad and then Created By Vince Gilligan. Awesome intro, and best show ever!
The lengths of the intro basically tell you all you need to know about the series. Game of Thrones is just going to drag on and on forever, even if the source material's author doesn't. Breaking Bad never used more words than needed.
I love how in every intro credit scene says “created by Vince Gilligan” implying that he, in fact, is the creator of the series, which is a reference to every episode. Subtle details. Bravo Vince.
