    hello and thanks for the video. can we use this option on the mixer even if the channels from the stage travel on s-link? I'm talking about solid effects for the voice like an insert pedal. will I have to choose an aux and a free input in local?

    The eq and compressor do not work after the insert , correct? In other words whatever comes after the insert gets cancelled?

    Hi André
    If i use the stagebox, can i also insert an external effect to the local input?
    For example: Acoustic Guitar Input Channel 1 Stagebox and External Compressor Input Channel 1 SQ5 direct

      Hi Marko,
      you can use any in/out as inserts, so that´s a yes.
      Cheers,
      André

    Great video ! Can you also add multiple inserts for the same channel ? Series / parallel ?

    • @AndreSchaier
      @AndreSchaier  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Frederic,
      No, there is only one insertpoint in the SQ. Avantis and DLive both have two. But as a workaround you could send that channel to a group and use the group insert as second insert. And if you use a Matrix as MasterOut you could even use the MainLR Bus and insert something there.
      All your other channels could now be send to different groups and from there directly to your MasterOut Matrix. That would give you 3 possible insertpoints...
      Hope that helps!
      Cheers,
      André

    Is there an insert point on the master bus? Thanks

    • @AndreSchaier
      @AndreSchaier  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Scott,
      yes, there is! You can, for example, insert the multiband compressor on the mainLR. That´s what I like to do.
      Cheers

    What if you want to insert stereo outboard on a group or bus? Does the console automatically adjust the insert point for that? I’ve only seen tutorials on inserting mono outboard.

      Hey Jeff,
      I´m not in front of my mixer right now, but I´m pretty sure, that when an inputchannel or an outputbus is configured to stereo, the insertpoint is stereo as well!
      Hope that helps

    how about latency compensation in this situation? thanx! im suscribed!

    • @AndreSchaier
      @AndreSchaier  Před 3 lety

      Hi Andres,
      the SQ has no build in delay compensation. But you only need that, if you insert something on two identical signal path, for example: If you have two identical drum groups. One gets the insert, the other one not. In that case you would most probably end up with bad sounding comb filter effects.
      Hope, that helps a bit!
      Cheers,
      André

      Hi Tom,
      do you mean the internal FX units or outboard gear? And could you please rephrase your question a little bit? I´m not quite sure I understand what you want to know...

      @@AndreSchaier hi Andre Thanks for your reply yes sorry I did mean outboard gear through the sends and returns on the desk SQ6

      @@tomtoms862 Hi Tom, how to insert a comp or such on a channel or group can be seen in the video. If you want to have a reverb or delay inserted, you could use an AUX Bus as send to the outboard FX unit. Go to the I/O screen and set Output->MixOut of that AUX Bus to a free output on the SQ (for example output 1).
      Connect Output 1 of the SQ with the Input of you outboard FX unit. Connect the outputs of your FX unit back to a free input on the SQ. Those inputs are now the returns of your chosen effect.
