  • A deep dive into the realm of Tarot and oracle decks we do not understand. In my personal spiritual practice with cartomancy, I am looking for systems I can rely on, but also: I'm finding answers just because the cards reflect who I am on the inside. How exactly does this strange phenomenon occur? Who knows?
    Why do I like to challenge myself in this sometimes frustrating way? Do I secretly enjoy NOT KNOWING? The less I know, the better?

    Happy new year to you too! Interesting topics. My personal opinion is the system teaches me how to use the deck, similiar as the other energy tools such as runes, salt, tea leaf or 3-coins for I ching. Learning tarot can be technical study nowdays without being psychic, while psychic people might not know how to use Tarot but still can tap into intuition to know what's coming. "The book of ordinary oracles" by Lon Milo Q has amazing insight of this. I do enjoy Tarot for bringing me fun and joys or giving energy boost for my friends/clients. I don't use Tarot for my own questions or decision. For me, more I learnt about this system, less complicated I understand it is, our "logic" mind sometimes play tricks by processing information based on what we "see" and what we've learnt rather than trusting we are psychic. My personal opinion is the deck reflects creator's spiritual awareness and their energy, not be the same as mine. Our spiritual awareness shifts and evolves through our lifetime, such as the same book or song I read/listen years ago can bring me totally new dimensional feeling later on. Just letting time unfold all mystical truth, enjoy your tarot jouney, it is fun!

      I love how you explained that and it resonated with something I like to say: as we change, evolve, learn, so do the cards. Their meanings change over time!

    Interesting video, I t intrigued me. I do believe some study is important to the craft it seems to lay a foundation for me. I then try to loosen everything up to find my way in the sound,coulor texture ect kinda like improve dance (I was a dancer years ago, ballet helped me achieve my potential in modern dance as a dancer and choreography. Pina Baush and Martha Graham were my jam.
    I sort of see tarot in this way.
    Moving with the cards, the person I am reading for and myself.
    I love decks that I dont understand as they give me the most room to move and feel my way through the darkness.
    Okay, I will stop now as I could go on for a long time.

    Tarot is always an eternal learning, looking, a-ha moments and enlightening. From Marseille which is so much more than a 2d image to the Dakini which takes you visually on a ride to a destination quite different. To study is a gift, to have intuitive insight is a gift.
    It is like going to an art gallery and several floors of immersive experience. We would all walk away with something different.

    To me the images on cards have been learning tools; give me the name of a card and at this point and I can do a reading. The images do give you other things to help expand on a reading with colors and directionality, etc. and they can help a querant 'get' it. Non-traditional deck images are challenging and sometimes get me out of a traditional groove--I think of The Guardian Tarot, for example. Happy 2024 to you!

      That’s so hard to put my finger on exactly!
      I find the art really powerful and yet restful for my eyes? I like that it’s historical feeling but like a different history where esoterica didn’t fall out of favour? I like the blend of influence from different mythologies and philosophical and alchemical ideas and the idea of the fifth element of aether/spirit feels like something I’ve been missing (I know some people read the majors as the fifth element but I don’t totally connect to that).
      That’s a big rambly answer to say basically it just grabbed my heart out of my chest and I needed to study it haha.

    I'm curious about what you think of open readings, as in the methods of Enrique Enriquez, Camelia Elias or Yoav Ben-Dov? Most examples are Marseille here, but Serge Pirotte, for example, has a lot of open readings with RWS. I want some grounded meanings personally, but in approaches like these, it is very interesting how study is not about a system of meanings of cards, but how you find meanings in a tableau of images. Such methods helped me a lot with reading the Thoth Tarot and Hermetic Tarot, oddly enough.

    • @AstralLadyTarot
      @AstralLadyTarot  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I say yes to those methods! I use them in my readings too, but I love to combine those types of techniques with more card to card styles. This, in my experience, is actually very intuitive. You do get the intuitve hits directly from the cards but it is much more free. I definitely use those. I do enjoy them more when it’s adding to a reading, and not the base of the reading

    The Voyager Tarot is one of my decks I do not fully understand. It's a wonderful reader for me. I see myself most often in collage decks. A variety of images that exist from seperate spaces, fragmented pieces of reality that form a cohesive piece of art, complete. That somehow just works. While remaining mysterious to me.
    The Voyager Tarot is a deck I love. Finding the image or images in the cards that zoom to the forefront during a reading, giving me a sample of my story. Making me come back to it again and again, attempting to gain the entire story. To understand it/myself better. Brain burners, gotta love them.

    • @AstralLadyTarot
      @AstralLadyTarot  Před 6 měsíci +3

      That’s one thing I like about the deck: there are so many collage pieces in one single card, you’ll perhaps never remember all of them and will always see something new. Which very much fits this video. Thank you!

    I feel this way about the Gothic tarot and the Margarete Peterson, but for different reasons. The former I thought I would need the guidebook to work with it but it has felt so intuitive and magical to me that I've hesitated to get the guidebook. The latter is just pure energy. I like to take note of suit and number, then just "scry".

    Hello Anna. Great topic.This may seem strange, but during a deck interview the questions and answers go both ways.Example: During the interview with the Thoth, my question was, can we work well together? The answer: Are you willing to work for it? A valid question, really.Am I willing to go on a journey?Learn something new?Those are the decks I keep around.Not because they are pretty or cool; but because of the challenge.Also, I am a sucker for an inviting rabbit hole.Feel better soon.

Well, colors ARE very powerful and meaningful so.. it does make sense ;)

  • @Umurhan999
    @Umurhan999 Před 6 měsíci +1

    I've always had an issue with the RWS 10 of Cups. It started after reflecting on when I got this card, and the situations it described. Intimate relationships (all types), pleasure, but after a while, not being satisfied and those relationships and situations falling apart. So... Satiety - Thoth 10 of Cups. Tarot of the Abyss and its instagram-esque 10 of Cups makes me feel that there is something off too, even though that is not Ana Tourian's intent as far as I can tell. That's personal experience over any guidebook for you.

    • @AstralLadyTarot
      @AstralLadyTarot  Před 6 měsíci

      Exactly. That is a perfect example. I think you are correct in seeing something wrong because NO card can be ONLY positive/ negative. Satiety (it’s basically same in RWS) is not an all positive thing to experience either.. how long will it last? It merely shows a moment in time where the thirst is gone but it will come back.. etc
