    This video inspired me to mod my 3.9 mustang a long time ago. I went with the a 2007 Ford Freestar intake swap I learned from Grant Paradox Johnson instead on my automatic and my best 0 to 60 to date is 5.7 secs. Best part is it fits inside the 2004 v6 hood (cobra hood). I still gotta delete my Powersteering but havent because I plan to make it electric. It's just quite a project. I do have a bunch of other mods (long tubes, 4.10s, LSD, 65mm TB, CAI, and more).
    Anyways I never thought my mustang would be similar in speed to yours. I'm so stoked! They are fun ass cars that never got the credit they deserved. I'm going to install the 2007 freestar camshaft as well which will be another major boost for me. They are both Essex engines and parts interchangeable. I still come to this video from time to time to compare my speed to yours lol.

    You should look into doing the IAC mod so your RPM's drop faster and don't have the deal with the idle hang. It takes about 5-10 mins to finish and its very simple, all you need is a sheet of gasket material and a drill bit to make the IAC ports smaller. If you don't like how it responds after the IAC mod then its literally 2 bolts and switch back to stock gasket.

      My v6 has 210k on it. Bought it a month ago and have had to rebuild the front end when I got it, just bought a new torque converter with a 500rpm increase in stall speed over stock (cause the stock one went out) I got new high flow cats from magnaflow (the stock ones blew out, literally blew apart at the welds near the headers) and a dual catback exhaust system from Magnaflow also. I got a new screamin demon coil pack to replace the stock one with 210k miles on it new low resistance performance wires and double platinum plugs that have been regapped to .065 instead of .045 because of the new coil pack, but other than that the car is a beast and runs great.

    • @TheVulcan
      @TheVulcan  Před 4 lety +2

      4.0 is an entirely different engine than the 3.8L. There really isn't any manifold swaps for the 4.0L and very little aftermarked support

    • @GPMAX01
      @GPMAX01 Před 4 lety

      The Vulcan what did you use to port the manifold? Did you just match the gasket holes or port the entire way through?

    • @TheVulcan
      @TheVulcan  Před 4 lety

      Ported the opening where the throttle body is then i only ported/gasket matched the 6 short runners and left the 6 long skinny runners alone. On the F150 manifold on these cars the 6 short runners start big then as it gets closer the the lower intake manifold the ports get smaller to where you can actually feel a lip so porting the short runners all the way through isnt needed. But the 6 long skinny runners(for torque) i left alone. But in these cars you gain about 15hp, and 30tq with just swapping to this manifold not even ported because the stock one is so crappy. In case of the 4.0L all you can do is port the manifold, and maybe add a bigger throttle body.

      @@GPMAX01 shorty headers, because of the more torque bias manifold using LTs would improve top end but drop torque, and basically clash negitively. So i used shorties to improve both torque and hp, im trying to make the most possible NA power with a solid redline of between 5200rpm - 5800rpm. And basically with just a manifold and headers i put it in the neighborhood of a 2valve new edge stang, and i havent tuned it and the 0-60 was around 5.7 seconds with a bad Mass air flow sensor, running only 87 pump gas. I deleted it because of the annoying wine the I couldn't get rid of. You'll see some gains at high RPM, But if you're not comfortable with the tougher steering, you shouldn't. I'm very strong so it never bothered me and I like heavy steering.

    • @TheVulcan
      @TheVulcan  Před rokem +1

      Depends on your skill level I guess. But you'd rent a pully puller from the auto part store. Remove the pully then pump. That's easy. Key part: you must drain some, not all fluid from the rack, then cut the lines short, then you'll take some fuel line then loop the lines, or connect them together. This is commonly done on Hondas civic and integras. so there are many videos on it, if you need further guidance.

I give credit where credit is due and he did not even say he removed the godawful power sucking cats on exhaust either. you realize these turds came from the factory with 2.73 rear ends right ? you realize how much hp is needed to propel a mustang zero to 60 with those space shuttle gears ? dont know off hand but a fucking shit load is my guess possibly 5 times the stock hp of that car

      Dude. At least do your research before trying to talk shit. The fact that you dont even know gearing differences between mustang years you loose all credibility 🤣🤣1999-2004 manual v6 mustang come with 3.27 gears. not 2.73(11-14 v6 mustang). I didnt state exactly everything i did. Full A/C delete and P/S delete, along with full weight reduction, everything behind the front 2 seats are stripped including rear seats. And im not going put on video that i cut my cats off, that's just dumb. Also the reason i why the F150 manifold is best for a sharp torque increase only, and is the best fit for stock cam which gives it a good 0-60 but over 100mph falls on its face, if i wanted to use a cam i would've used a different manifold that's rpm focused. On all my vehicles I port the upper, lower and throttlebody. It's easy to be a keyboard warrior ain't it?
