Imma definitely use those codes to buy some parts thank you so much
I don't have a crawler so i can't be certain this would work for you, but I use the trim adjustment on the remote to initiate the slowest possible yaw rotation with my quad copter. Should work with throttle trim right? Adjust your throttle trim until it just starts to move then use the trigger to make it stop. That should be the slowest possible crawl.
That does work on a smaller motor. The problem he is facing is due the huge magnets In that mofo motor. It tells you on mofos website that it will take a lot of juice to start up that motor so you really need a lizard pro or other high end esc to run that motor smoothly. A lizard pro would make it almost brushless
Brushed is a better choice for “crawlers”
Why do you say that? @@dustin6828
@@thathobbyguy6135 I sell brushes for brushed motors and business sucks
We use dual rates, the slt2 that the v3 scx24 comes with has a 50, 75 and 100% throttle DR whereas you have to click the bind button 3 times on the v2 and then you can use the steering DR buttons to adjust the throttle DR. I personally just keep it all the way up because I can control slow crawl better that way, but some guys like to drop it down a few notches just to have a bit longer power curve from a “dig” for more control on throttle despite having less power at full throttle
This build takes me back to how I found your page I remember the first video I watched being about your yellow jly
Like going back to the beginning for me as well. Really enjoying it
Nice, this series has come at a great time for me. I am looking at possibly picking one of these up.
Same
red injora motor for smoothness, beautifull build!
That thing looks sweet. Can’t wait to build mine
The swamp kings are no surprise lol
I have the same JLU with the MB100 Esc. I started with the Mofo rc torque beast x 50 30k motor and had the same issues. Very jumpy. I don’t think the MB100 is powerful enough for those motors. I switched to the Mofo torque beast 30 with a 3s battery. It is so much quieter and very smooth. It fixed all my issues. My build is lighter than yours, but as long as you don’t go too heavy the torque beast 30 and 3s battery is pretty nice.
3S with the MB100 is EPIC
I have a TB30 on hand, I may try this exact setup. Thanks!
Great video. I appreciate the shout out. Looking forward to seeing where you go with this build.
Would be really interesting to see a spread sheet of how all your rigs have done on the setup table. Could see which ones are the best and compare. Keep up the awesome videos!
You should do an element eco 1/12 build series.
Nice build, Adam.
Regarding the stuttering modulation, using the stock esc as a receiver with THE MB100 is the issue. I stripped out all of the stock electronics and used an MB100 with a dumboRC radio. Control and modulation is unreal for the money.
Bronze is a Good choice 👌
Lol I have those same wheels on my cr18p pro. Can't beat quality for Dj Crawler prices. Also the Grizzly Works flex blades, I run the rears on EVERY scx24 build I do. The fronts I save for my RWS builds.
Awesome Build!
If your wanting a great brushed esc, the WPL 15a is amazing value at $15 and will give you the slow crawl engagement your after. The modelbau ASX24 from modelbau-reglar is arguably the best brushed esc you can get right now, silent in operation and tiny light weight setup. I run both of these and their performance is comparable but the asx is quieter.
If you pair either of these with a red injora motor you’ll have butter smooth power, almost as good as a furitek, minus some torque..
You’ll get that smooth operation without the jerkiness you have there. 🤙
Looks amazing to me 👍
Hey Adam that mofo motor needs a lizard pro. It would feel almost brushless with one. Anything mofo makes with an x on it has extremely powerful magnets inside. When you pull it out just try turning the pinion and feel how strong the magnets are. Get an injora motor or something to compare it to and it will blow your mind. But I highly recommend trying it with a lizard pro where you can use the app to tune it. Anyway the jlu looks awesome
The magnets are absurdly powerful on these little things!
And what I meant by feel brushless is you know how when you hit an obstacle with a brushless set up and you don’t have to add trigger to get the rig to climb. That torque beast x will also climb without more throttle input
Congrats on 100k! Been watching since like 5000 subs keep up the good work!
as always you have amazing very intersting and awesome production quality.
One thing's for sure is, I need to get me a new Treal front bumper as the 1st one snapped on me, from a crawl. 🤦🏼♂️😅
Very nice looking rig 👍🏻
Great vid bro. The JLU looks killer with the wheel and tire combo and I dig the stinger bumper. The little guy can crawl too!
I do like that front bumper. I'm not real sure about that motor, really jumpy at the beginning for me. Their rims look really good. Looking forward to see how this build progresses.
I think it's the esc. Got my child the Gladiator V2 Horizon Hobbies receiver/esc and Transmitter(has steering limit, throttle adj, L/R steering adj, etc, Channel 3 and 4 hot buttons, awesome). Throttle is a beautiful linear crawler esque sensitivity. Very cool.
Buddy got the Power Wagon with the Spectrum escape and transmitter, he has zero adjustments other then bind. Throttle is literally ether go full bore or stop making it virtually impossible to actually crawl slowly with(unless you gear the truck way down).
Other buddy has the C10 with the Axial ESC/receiver and Tranmitter. That again has few(Not none) adjustments and it's Throttle into as bad as the Spectrum Power Wagon, but it's still very touchy and hard to climb slowly with. It's like you "grabbin' gears" and yanking the Throttle, not any way to turn it down.
Why is Axiel making such vastly different and competent setups with these? The Horizon Hobbies V2 is the cheapest version and is far superior to the Spectrum and Axiel variants.
@@brandonbentley5453 thank you for the response. I have yet to get my first rc. Right now I am trying to learn about the hobby. I must say it is been really interesting trying to learn about the electronics side.
Injora purple motor pair's well with the mb100 thanks adam
This will be my next build. I need the Jeep 😂
I think just getting rid of the axial receiver will help a ton im running the mb100 as well and it's much more responsive and smoother than that.
I would say this check out big kids tiny truck escaped you can run it on brushed or brushless definitely an amazing platform
The remote is what is making it so jumpy. Remove the 2in1 and add a receiver on the side
That’s a great looking build! I’m thinking about trying out a 4ws jlu set up!
Hello,i bought recently the Power wagon, and before doing some upgrades,I would like to see you first doing some upgrades. Thanks!
Change the radio and it should smooth out the throttle control.
I like phase 2 Adam. Great job always like to learn and watch so i can try them once i get my hands on one because i went to Hobby Town USA today in Schaumburg, IL not in stock 😢 im a try another hobby store in Plainfield, IL Leisure Hours Hobbies might just pick up both rigs JLU & Gladiator 🤞🏻🙏🏻😊
👍👍
Now that you’ve tried a new eat, any thoughts on jumpiness being tx/rx related? Or do you think think an esc upgrade might do the trick?
I know it's probably sacrilegious to some, but a cheap fms MG41 speed controller handles brushed motors like a boss.
Does it have an external receiver bypass so you can just plug your own receiver to it? If so do you know where you can just get the receiver alone? My brother has the fms k10 which I believe comes with that stock, and even in second gear he can crawl slower than my scx24 v3… kind of annoying.
Could we see your son’s scx24 power wagon build? I dont think you’ve made a vid on it
Thanks for all the great videos. I watched one of your videos about the pros and cons of building or buying. I think I'm wanting to build a rig with the parts that I would end up upgrading anyways. I'll look to see if I can find a video a out brushless vs brushed motors. I'd like to know your thoughts on that after seeing how jumpy our new motor is. And what frame would you go with? I'd like to build a JUL thanks for all the tips keep up the good work.
I dont want to give up on the torquebeast X. I'm going to continue to try to smooth it out with some other electronics combos. But if you didn't want to buy the supporting electronics, the Injora pro 50 motor is a great choice
i think you need to move the wheels in till the middle of the tire is in line with the end of the fender. this is a purely aesthetic decision on my part.
also my personal opinon is magnetize the body mount it feels so smooth and strong as well as less wobble in the body.
if you see this i am moding a scx24 bronco chassy to be a rally car, it is going well but i need help figuring out how to speed it up to a better speed for a rally car any suggestions?
Servo and purple injora motor.
How did you wire the injora mb100 to the stock ecs/receiver?
Can you try the 6x6 kit for the Trx4m?
Is the injora 050 66T a good motor for this?
Hey did you install overdrive gears on this? Because I just bought some injora overdrive gears for my v3 and I’m noticing they’re very tight causing binding/drag in the driveline, that could be why you’re having the slow speed issues. I’m thinking it might be the orings making it too tight, cause the stock gear doesn’t come with the orings and I think the older ones do. I’m the process of taking it back apart right now to see what’s going on, but the injora overdrive gears are definitely binding up for some reason on mine.
If anyone has any suggestions about this I’d be happy to hear them!
Edit: I just double checked and the stock v3 gear actually has one oring on the side towards the differential cover, so I took the oring towards the driveshaft out and it seems to be pretty loose now. I’ll update after I run it for a bit and see if that’s the fix here.
Edit 2: Alright, seems to be working fine now. I don’t know if that’s the issue with the one in the video, but a binding driveline can definitely cause that.
very surprised by the jump in the motor, put a tb50 in my jlu non X version not sure the difference. but the initial crawl is very slow compared to yours ive been very impressed with the 15$ upgrade.
Interesting. I tried it in another SCX24 on stock electronics and got the same jumpiness. I wonder if its my motor?
always a possibility, is the X version some sort of lower range motor by any chance? @@CapeCrawlers
Can you do anything to the mb100 esc with a program card?
No, not that I am aware of
How could I get the grizzly works lcg kit if they can’t ship to Australia?
The mb100 esc can I use same stock remote or do I need injora remote
Depends on what esc you have . V1 and v3 can have another esc plugged into them allowing you to use factory radio with different esc. The blue v2 does not allow you to do that but you can get a nice little dumbo radio for 30 bucks to go with the mb 100
@nathanross5406 OK thank you
Looking at picking one up to make a scale version of my real truck. Question- will the new deadbolts in store have the new electronics? Or just the new models like this JLU?
So far the JLU, gladiators, and power wagons are the only ones to have these electronics.
If i upgraded the esc to i need a new remote?
You do not
@@CapeCrawlers oh cool, thank you
Hi congratulations on 100k, would you recommend those little guy racing drivers and work mat you use?
Thanks! Yes I like the driver set a lot. Occassionally I find myself using my MIP .05 driver because it grabs better, but 90% of the time the LGRP kit is my go-to
@@CapeCrawlers Thank you
Would you say that the MB100 is a better esc than the stock V2 electronics?
There’s a video review by donaldsneffe (I think I spelled it right) where he compares it to stock, and it seems much smoother, also no pwm whine according to him which is a huge plus imo and almost worth it just for that, but the 50% reverse is just such nonsense and the only reason I haven’t ordered one yet.
@@travispratt6327 I'll have to look up his video, thanks!
Did you run a different type foam or stock foams
stock foams
Thank you that helps
Maybe it's the Esc that doesn't work well with that motor from Mofo rc
And what battery are you using?
Stock spektrum battery. I also like the urgenix batteries in 450mah or 900mah
its not too wide
Please just build the high trail f-150 not a single CZcamsr has done it yet that I’ve found
That motor doesn’t seem to give good control on takeoff. That would bother me too much, I would keep the stock or keep looking for an alternative. That lurches like a Bronx
I ended up tossing in a 66t motor and enjoy it much more
dude again calibrate your throttle position all the jumpiness will go away!
Too wide looks goofy
