- Tom Aspinall recently confronted Jon Jones in person at an event and had a face off with him in an interaction trying to get the fight, this is my reaction to them meeting, let me know what you guys think in the comments section down below.

What I noticed about this, Jon Jones was REFUSING to use any language or energy that would commit him to a fight with Tom. Aspinall "let's make it happen" Jones "we might have to" Aspinall "I would love to have the honor one day" Jones "maybe one day" Then Jon not wanting to face off. My take on the energy between them is that Jon hates Tom's existence but Tom is too nice a person for Jon to let it be known so he has to hold it back. The look after Tom wanted a face off was a "man %!£% this guy" look from Jon. He knows that if not for Tom he would be able to sail off into the sunset as the baddest man without question. Unfortunately, Tom is the question.

The important take away for me is that Aspinall is not intimidated by Jones. Jon beats his opponents before they even get into the ring, that's not going to happen with Aspinall and you can see it by how relaxed he is, he is not scared of Jones. And that's what worries Jon, he doesn't like that

I'd say him having the best and most dangerous stats against some of the most dangerous fighters in UFC history is a bit more than nothing. He's already in the UFC's history books. He's set so many records already.

Yeah there’s a lot more nuance in this scenario. For one, Jones has only fought one heavyweight and Tom has slain numerous. Being an interim champion means you are the champion in the INTERIM that the undisputed champion must face. In the event where the undisputed champ vacates the belt the interim champ becomes the undisputed champ. When Dustin became IC he eventually fought for the UC and lost, while Jones is very clearly ducking Tom and making it clear he will probably retire after fighting Stipe, meaning Tom will ultimately become the UC. Because of this, until Jon outright agrees to fight Tom it is fair to consider Tom the UC seeing as it is likely he will assume that title anyway.
