      I think so! Embossers should be easy, but cookie cutters may require multiple cuts and gluing pieces together. If you are considering making a lot of cookie cutters, I would look into a 3D printer.

  • @KarenDriscoll-Scrapbyscrap

    Hi Lisa, I love your videos, and I am just about ready to plunk down that cash for a Glowforge! I am also a rubber stamper, and you will get the best results if you back your rubber stamps with foam. It gives you the cushion needed to get a totally clear impression. You can also use the acrylic block, but if you get a pad of like mouse pad material that will also give you a great impression! When you say Glowforge Premium, is that a software package? I’m very new at this, and haven’t even purchased it yet! Lol. I do love your videos, and I’m glad I happened apron you! Thanks for all your info!

    • @LisaPottsDesigns
      @LisaPottsDesigns  Před 3 lety

      Thanks for the tip, Karen! Yes, I started looking into foam, do you have a brand you like? Glowforge premium is an upgrade to the program. Some people use it, but it's certainly not necessary!

  • @liveyourfullest7898
    @liveyourfullest7898 Před 3 lety

    Lovely! Do you not feel the need to use any sort of foam between the rubber and the wooden base? Also, I see people talk about needing to create a "shoulder"... What do that even mean?? lol!

    • @LisaPottsDesigns
      @LisaPottsDesigns  Před 3 lety

      I believe the shoulder is that caved part on the stamp block. I am not creating one since I'm not a major stamper.
      I have heard of using foam and I actually got some. The foam helps gives a more even image when pressing down the stamp.

    • @LisaPottsDesigns
      @LisaPottsDesigns  Před 2 lety

      Yes, I'll make a video soon! Basically, set up your design, create a rectangle, send the rectangle to back, then subtract the design (words) from the rectangle. You should have a rectangle with the words cut out. After that, mirror the image and export!

    Hi Lisa! Love your videos. Quick, possibly dumb, question. Do I have to have a Silhouette machine in order to download and use Silhouette Studio? I own 2 Cricuts and a Glowforge so wouldn’t need a Silhouette too.

    • @LisaPottsDesigns
      @LisaPottsDesigns  Před 2 lety +1

      Not a dumb question at all! Nope, you don't need it! That's one of the huge benefits of the software, you can use it for multiple machines and there is no need to buy a Silhouette. I have many people who design with it, then cut with cricut.

      I'm working on an update video, but basically create the design, subtract it from a square, then flip horizontally before exporting it.
      Design - Draw Square - Right click the square and send to back - Select both the design and square - go to modify panel (icon with circle and rectangle) - click Subtract.
      This should create the square with the words cut out of it. Once you're done, flip horizontally and then export.
