- Hey guys, in this video I'm testing a 4-stroke mini gasoline engine.
This 2.6cc engine is water-cooled and can run on gasoline, aviation kerosene, or lighter fluid. I added 2 drops of oil to the fuel for lubrication. I didn't add oil to the crank case but I did lubricate the bearings for the test run. I fabricated the custom muffler out of stainless steel, it does quiet it down a bit but would still be loud if you wanted to run it on your desktop at work :)

*@ManualdoMotorStirling* You mean exactly the opposite, because the power is too weak and the engine sounds like a 2-stroke engine.
Gas/air mixture is not in the correct ratio to each other, see 3:47.
The oxygen supply is throttled, but the petrol gas supply is not. See 4:04 A lot of gasoline is still being added to the combustion chamber, which is why the engine cannot run optimally.

My grandfather used to make these. Navy engineer. He was incredibly talented.
He'd use lathes and stuff to make them for fun. Had hundreds
But none of this buying crap. He'd make them from a solid block of bronze or woteva.

What kind of oil did you add to the fuel and how did you know it could run off of different fuel types?
The engine came with a data sheet showing allowable fuel types. I don't remember what oil I added to the fuel, I think a few drops of machine oil.

That’s a great little engine. The only question is, what about valve train, piston and crankshaft lubrication? I’m mystified. 🤓👍
The crankcase probably holds a small amount of oil. The valve train doesn't need much oil and you just manually oil them once in a while. Old industrial engines used to operate with exposed valve trains all the time and you just manually oiled or greased those parts.

It's pretty cool but not very efficient with fuel consumption but I was still buy one
Looks like it's modeled after a Yanmar TS/TF series engine
You can clearly see how a lot of unburned gas is discharged immediately after closing the throttle.
I can understand the reason why the engine carburetor of the actual car was changed to injection.
Car carborators don't do it that much it was mostly changed because carborators don't like the cold and change in elevation
my first car, I wired up a spark plug to the exhaust and run the contact points of the engine to to an aux coil in the rear of the car. I wired up a 3-way switch to activate the aux coil and spark plug whilst simultaneously cutting the ignition to the engine. i could flip the switch and max throttle some decent flames out the back of the exhaust. Finish it off with a pull of the choke and got some quite large ones that came up to the rear window. seeing this on the video I wanted to see a tiny spark plug in the exhaust :)
I see someone else asked, what about the lube for crankcase and valve gear! Do you actually run it dry!!!!!
Don't worry, I put oil in the crankcase off camera.

Depends on the generator. Possibly 12 volts

it depends you can get 12v generator and make circuit and get it down to 5v for phone charging and maybe 20w of power
