I feel like we honestly can’t take any Gunn casting rumors at face value because it’s such a crabshoot with him. On the one hand, he’ll bring in an unknown to play a girl who can control rats, and on the other, he’ll cast Rocky to play a shark demigod
And he also re-uses actors a lot. That girl who controls rats (Rat Catcher 2) came back as an alien hostage in GoG 3 same with Peacemaker's Team leader and the High Evolutionary. Not to mention the allegations of nepotism (granted they generally do really well in their roles). Drax or Ronan could be the next Superman for all we know.
@@haruhirogrimgar6047 Honestly, all that "nepotism" crap bothers me. The fact that so many Hollywood types do it and yet they don't get as much flack is odd to me. Paul Anderson and Milla Jovovich really stand out to me for this.
To be fair, we saw Billy Cudrup as Barry Allen's father, Jeffrey Dean Morgan played Thomas Wayne, Patrick Wilson ended up as Ocean Master (he also did a cameo voicing the President in BVS) and Snyder also mentioned Carla Gugino (Silk Spectre I) as a perfect candidate for DCEU's Catwoman. It's nothing new.
@@gregsanders61 Nepotism exists in every single line of work that exists. I have no clue why actors get singled out for it as if who you know doesn't give everybody a leg up in the job market.
One of things that always hampers online discussion of casting is the general public isn't familiar with an actor's stage work and, unless you live in New York, doesn't have access to see it. Christopher Reeve was doing off Broadway theatre in New York before he got Superman. I love Rachel Brosnahan, but I never got to see her in Othello with Daniel Craig and David Oyelowo. Right now she's in that revival of The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window with Oscar Isaac. I'd love to see that. There is a lot more to an actor's resume than just film and TV. I wish IMDB would list their theater credits too.
I really hope James Gunn doesn't mess up Lex Luthor and the Clark Kent side of Superman. I'm honestly more interested in the Clark Kent human side of Superman than the actual superhero stuff
James is probably the biggest comic nerd out of all the comic book directors etc, no reason to worry he’s gonna have Superman and Clark be a vital focus in his movie
For me, having photos of the actors put up would be hugely useful for these kinda videos going forward, like I think you did with the F4 video, I have no idea who any of the actors are so it's really hard to really understand the conversation here at times. Even when I am able to look stuff up, I sometimes can't seem to find the actor you're talking about, like I'm not sure how to spell the name or w/e You might assume that someone like me who doesn't know any of these actors and hasn't been following things closely would have no interest in a video like this, but, idk that's just not true, I am very interested I just need to see the people being talked about to feel some sort of connection
Jacob Elordi would be a good choice for Scott Summers in the MCU Honestly Nicholas Hoult should have been cast as Cyclops in X-Men First Class Apart from Hank’s intelligence in chemistry and engineering that we see in the movie, everything else about his character in those movies screams Cyclops Like his reluctance about his powers, his leadership, his piloting skills, his relationship with James McAvoy’s Charles and his loyalty to him Even in Dark Phoenix when he teams up with Magneto is something that a modern comics Cyclops could do if it was still inline with Professor X’s vision or was for the good of both mutants and humans And he looks more like a younger version of James Marsden than he does Kelsey Grammar
