I’ve been watching all the Actor round tables and such, and Adam Sandler has been to every single one of them. They’re campaigning him. I think he’s gonna get the nomination, because Cruise doesn’t seem like it’s happening.
And he's been coming across as so likable, genuine and heartfelt in everything he says and does, he finally feels like a genuine dramatic journeyman who's finally paid his dues with enough credible dramatic roles - love that he's finally getting recognition
I loved Maverick very much, I saw it twice last year, one of the best movies of 2022 and Tom was great, as usual! But definitely not Oscar worthy, he really does not need that anyways he is already a name in the industry like his name itself is a film production already :D
Adam Sandler just pulling Ben Affleck's Tender Bar in my opinion. 5th spot on Oscar will be wide open, I think Paul Mescal's Aftersun is still a possibility
I’m so glad babylon got in, there were so many amazing supporting performances in addition to the main three (jean smart, jovan adepo, pj byrne, tobey, li jun li, samara weaving are all scene stealers)
IMO: The reason for the Babylon ensemble nomination: probably recognition that a) with the crowded fields in this year's acting categories, and b) even though some people were not a fan of the movie itself, voters felt that the acting in it still deserved recognition. The reason for the Women Talking nomination: recognition for the acting when the ensemble cast probably cannibalized each other in terms of getting individual Supporting Actress nominations, especially when the passion for the film isn't as strong as EEAAO and Banshees to garner multiple noms in a category.
Overall I think SAG did a great job! There are a few I would change based on personal preference, but all the noms make sense. I understand Babylon Ensemble - they liked all the performances and thought they worked well together, but when it came to individuals for best actress/actor there were 5 individual performances they liked more. Same with Women Talking.
This is an exciting year. It's nice to have each show doing something a little different. What this does is makes the BAFTAs that much more interesting. The BAFTAs are out before the SAG Awards???? Because I don't see (BAFTA) them going along with half the supporting actress nominees. I think Ana de Armas will get in at BAFTA but Michelle is getting in that Oscar race. The older crowd is going to go for Fabelmans as much as they can. But I wouldn't mind if she didn't It's exciting that Paul Mescal could get in. There is space for that. So that's super cool. As long as Jamie Lee Curtis gets in at the Oscars I am happy. If Angela can hold on.. I'm even happier. But Jamie hasn't been nominated ever and she had a great year. I now feel confident enough to put Ana de Armas in my predictions. Hollywood seems to really like that movie. Colin Farrell spent like 30 seconds of his GG acceptance speech just raving about Ana de Armas

At worst, he'll have 2.5 out of 4. That seems like a good bet.
Can't take the SAGS seriously these days. The newly expanded membership where practically the cleaner at the film studio now gets a vote means the whole thing is now just a popularity contest. Hence you get wins by the likes of Black Panther. It's half way to the People's Choice Awards.
Let’s GO Angela Bassett. I’ve been rooting for her since the Globe nominations and I hope she wins the Oscar. We wanna talk about actors being long overdue? Bassett. Plus, she’d be the first (and let’s face it, probably only) Actor/actress to win the oscar for Marvel.
Paul Mescal being the hot talk on the internet and just everywhere for the last month or so makes it much more likely for him to get that Oscar nomination. Everyone and their mothers are going to watch his play and then they invite him for dinner and stuff, like Angelina Jolie
love top gun but i think overall acting wise cruise isn't strong at all compared to other nominees, he's great in the movie overall but performance wise i think sandler in hustle was even better. The Oscar loves surprises. Anything can happen
Adam Sandler got some recognition 🎉🎉
Can't take the SAGS seriously these days.
The newly expanded membership where practically the cleaner at the film studio now gets a vote means the whole thing is now just a popularity contest. Hence you get wins by the likes of Black Panther. It's half way to the People's Choice Awards.
Angela Bassett is winning supporting actress, that's a fact. She's overdue
Not happening.
I’m happy for Adam slander.
So happy for Adam Sandler and Hong Chau
If that SAG five for Actress is the final five at the Oscars, that’s fair enough. As long as Danielle Deadwyler gets in
Stephanie Hsu and Hong Chau! I hope they make it all the way
They did!!
Let’s GO Angela Bassett. I’ve been rooting for her since the Globe nominations and I hope she wins the Oscar. We wanna talk about actors being long overdue? Bassett. Plus, she’d be the first (and let’s face it, probably only) Actor/actress to win the oscar for Marvel.
who was announcing the nominations in the background? I just wanna talk...
Paul Mescal or Jeremy Pope could be number 5 but it depends on the bafta nomination.
What if both Paul mescal and tom cruise get that BAFTA nomination?
@@tharunvishal720 that would make it more complicated to predict who's gonna be number 4 and 5.
@@sebbvell3426 bro i literally want cruise to take that 5th spot as a career achievement😭
Paul Mescal being the hot talk on the internet and just everywhere for the last month or so makes it much more likely for him to get that Oscar nomination. Everyone and their mothers are going to watch his play and then they invite him for dinner and stuff, like Angelina Jolie
at the end of the day, award season is all about PR and he's getting it right now
HOLY SHIT ADAM SANDLER
I honestly LOVE these noms... only thing I would have liked is to see Sandler out and Mescal in
Lets all just watch blonde and Hustle
Im nervous for Michelle Williams but im still confident she will get an oscar nom
As much as I love Jamie, I think Stephanie’s performance in EEAO deserves more nominations
I told you ana should be In the top 5 guess what she made it . This till lady you keep obsessing about , the movie is not all that .
Adam Sandler?? Really!!😂
Claire Foy needed to be in here
Maybe they gave WT and babylon ensemble to make up for not gettin actors in
love top gun but i think overall acting wise cruise isn't strong at all compared to other nominees, he's great in the movie overall but performance wise i think sandler in hustle was even better. Cruise may not be able to snag a nomination for actor just for his dedication to the craft and the love for top gun, director may even be more likely than actor despite no nominations for kosinski
Stephanie Hsu!!
Are they going to give SAG Ensemble to The Fablemans because of the Lead Actress snub of Michelle Williams?
If Adma Sandler gets an oscar Nom Im going to tear up.He deserves it like Jim Carey does.
This year might have the record of most first time nominees at the Oscars, with everyone for supporting actor except Pitt, everyone for actor exept tom cruise, everyone for sup actress except bassett, and deadwyler, and yeoh
dammit Tom Cruise !
