Festive Ebb & Flow Cold Process Soap (Tree Marie SHORT #3)

- Lately, I have been designing my soap with bright colors and fun swirls using the 9-Bar Slab Mold. Paper marbling techniques inspire this swirl. It has many names such as the Ebb and Flow, the Back and Forth, the Come and Go, the Zig Zag, and the Turkish Ebru name, Gelgit. Everything you make intrigues me. The way you use color and use design together gives your soap so much visual interest. Your soaps are mini works of art. As you plopped white, black; violet, aqua, blue, red, ;yellow, and neon green in to the mold, I was skeptical (or I would have been had I not already seen the finished soap). The colors were off putting and fighting for attention. But then you swirled them together and boom- MAGIC.. Suddenly, the colors danced together in the way you wanted them to -no more fighting-and the result is visually appealing and I couldn't stop looking at it.
We all love watching you mix colors because it's so satisfying to watch the pigments and micas glide under the glass muller but it's also really interesting to see how you mix colors. Sometimes it's s very subtle change to the color you purchased but it always improves the color to create that Tree Marie Magic. I can always tell it's your design just from the thumbnail.

Thanks so much. I calculate the proper amount of colorant, and I make sure and cure them for a good 6-8 weeks. (I think the soap is better after an eight week cure.)
where did you purchase the cutter and shaver in this video?
The green wire cutter is from a company in Japan. (It's hard to get, and the shipping is very high.) My husband and I made the wood guides and planer. I have talked to customcraftsupplies.com about a wire cutter and guide. They have come up with a 2-in-1 wire cutter & guide/log splitter. They are sending me the prototype to see how I like it. Maybe that will be something you would like. Stay tuned! You might check if they have a soap planer.
I love this!! I've been wondering how to make a pride month soap with all current colours in the flag. Was gonna do ITP swirl but this is WAY simpler and less likely to turn into a mucky mess
