- Watch me make this Chevron Swirl design in my latest cold process soap making video! This technique is another slab mold design using combing, which is inspired by paper marbling or ebru patterns. Stay tuned to the end of the video for the "What I learned" segment, where I share lots of tips. Today I talk a bit about how to keep your batter fluid for these types of designs. At the very end of this video, I leave you with some lovely color combo ideas for this design that you won't want to miss!

I love how you make use out of what you have. You don't need fancy tools, just skewers and cardboard. Genius, innovative and economical.
Hi Teri! OK - well it took me 4 batches but finally did it!
Only thing I did incorrectly, was when pulling my chopstick to make final Chevron design, I went from top to bottom, top to bottom, etc. and now see I should’ve done that step every other one top to bottom, then bottom to top and so on.
I still got a beautiful design and 5th batch will be a win! This design is not for the faint of heart that’s for sure. Just making the dividers was a project unto itself. But for the first time I actually soaped with lye at 71 and oils at 115.
Your suggestion to “just wait” for the perfect batter consistency was so true.
If the batter isn’t just perfect, and also matched with a well behaved fragrance, it firms up before you can rake it. Hence 4 batches LOL. Thank you SO much for sharing this design and wonderful tips.
I really appreciate you taking us step-by-step. You can never know what the soaping community has meant to me.
Some day I hope to give back.
Take care! -Momo
Hello, Teri! I love this design! Just stunning! I always appreciate your "What I learned" segment!
LOVE all the colors!
Videos about more organic soaps would be great! ☺️
Very cool design, Teri!! I love the digital color changes at the end - the turquoise and dark pink ones would have to be my favorites!! Hope you sell lots of soap today!! ♥️

@@TreeMarieSoapworks I'm very excited to try your soap!!! 😘
I probably already watched this video, but I liked the soap so much that I watched it again. You are always so calm in your talking and have all these little details that you impart on your fans, it is really interesting. I love these colors and the Chevron design. I like the tips that you have learned, like the plastic bags, from packaging inside the bottles, the small bottles of oil that you use, so you do not go over, the way you use a pallet knife to mix your colors, your cardboard and skewers tool is very creative and so precise. All these little details make it fascinating to watch you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent.
The original blue and the teal are my favorites

Oh my, this is GORGEOUS! I think I like the royal blue best, but I'm such a big fan of the color pink. My hubby sat and watched your video with me (he has NEVER watched a soaping video) and he was thoroughly pleased with your knowledge and skills ♡ [He said I'm college-level ball, and you're pro 😅] I AGREE!
I love this design, and the comb made of corrugated cardboard is genius! I am definitely going to try the green and yellow version. Thank you!

Teri this soap is stunning! The magenta might be one of my favorites! I always appreciate your videos so much, I always learn a ton! I've only been. Making soap for almost a year...so some of the techniques are a little above my skill level, but I'm just preparing for the future! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, tips and tricks! Thanks so much! After trying for a while to figure out how to make this design, this was gratifying! 💕✨
your designs, explanations, and advice is incredible and extremely appreciated. unfortunately i cannot pick a favorite color as i like them all. your page is very insightful and inspirational. thank you for the time you take to do.
Idk why but this is giving me Attack on Titan, wings of freedom brigade emblem. Absolutely gorgeous soap
OMG, I think I want to try this with Melt and Pour suspending base. That looks cool.
Great video btw - love the entire process :)
Thank you, Dean! Cheers!
Teri! This is such a beautifully done video and the technique you are demonstrating is clearly shown and easily understood.
I already tried it the hard way, LOL, without the dividers, and it was definitely a fail due to the acceleration of the batter. BUT thanks to you will try again - using your methods and tips which are wonderful. Every tip is a great reminder because there’s such a laundry list of things to “do right” when you’re making soap! It’s easy to forget the little stuff like don’t overmix! You are so generous with your information, and your Chevron pattern is absolutely gorgeous. You are so appreciated by me and many, many others.
-Momo
Absolutely stunning, thank you 😊
My pleasure, Tracey! 😊
You are an artist, it is very cool👍😍
I would love to see a video about determining colorant usage - I've used the calculator but would still love to see a video on how to calculate based on total oils, batter, usage, etc. And you are so right about being patient with stick blending and waiting for trace - especially as a new beginner.
So beautiful😍 I love it :) thank you for share😊😊👍
Thank you so much 😊
