In this video, we discuss all the main characters who won't survive the Targaryen civil war in House of the Dragon Season 2. The following contains spoilers.
Rhaenys Targaryen and dragon Meleys, Otto Hightower and his son Gwayne Hightower as well as a member of Aegon’s small council, Jasper Wylde, and a few other lords will not survive season 2 of a Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon.
Princess Rhaenys Targaryen and her dragon Meleys will die in the upcoming episode, House of the Dragon season 2 episode 4, at the hands of Aemond and Aegon and their dragons Sunfyre and Vhagar.
Otto Hightower and his son Gwayne Hightower alongside Jasper Wylde and a few other lords will die in the season 2 finale in the fall of Kings Landing. Otto and Gwayne are going to die at the hands of Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen.
In the season 2 finale, in House of the Dragon season 2 episode 8, Aegon’s Kings Landing will fall to Rhaenyra and Daemon and their dragons Caraxes and Syrax alongside 4 more dragons that are on Rhaenyra’s side. So in total, Rhaenyra will come for Kings Landing with six dragons while the Greens will have none to respond with at the capital since Aemond will be away with Vhagar.
After the battle for Kings Landing, Alicent and Helaena will be taken captive but not all are going to be so lucky. Otto Hightower, Gwayne Hightower, and Jasper Wylde will be executed for treason by Rhaenyra.

The fact that we are finally getting a proper look at the most beautiful dragon recorded in history books, Aegon’s Sunfyre, only to see him immediately crushed and his beauty disappear, feels like a serious crime.

This isn't accurate for the TV show. Season 2 will not even have the battle of the gullet, so The Blacks will not take King's landing in this season either. That means Otto wouldn't die, but the TV show also appears to be swapping Ormund's role as Daeron's mentor with Otto, so dont expect him to die until the 2nd battle of Tumbleton
Also they didn't include the little girl with the dragon who flys with Daemon to Harrenhal to help fight Aemond and Vhagar. Daemon also has a relationship with her up until his encounter with his nephew.

“Daemon gave us these cloaks and they are gold no matter how you turn them” is a perfect response from the Gold Cloak commander to Hightower’s accusation of being a turncloak. Sums up perfectly the City Watch’s loyalty to Daemon as they kill Otto’s son Gwayne. Otto is the one who put Daemon in charge of the City Watch years ago during the reign of Viserys as a humilation since it was not a desired position for a Prince, Daemon was thrown to wolves but walked out as the leader of the pack which will now bite Otto back as well as his bloodline.

Might be in the minority here,but I actually am not impressed by Vhagar nearly as much as I should be so far.
Arrax and Luke weren't even a light snack,let alone full grown,and Meleys and Rhaenys while fierce get jumped in a 2 vs 1 while focusing on another target.
A legitimate 1 vs 1 where both the dragons and riders are full fledged savages is what's really gonna show off aerial combat and be considered a true proper battle between dragons...
In the book it says Rhaenys with Meleys would stand a chance against Vhagar and Aemond if Aegon and Sunfyre were not there..

There's not enough content between Rook's Rest and the Fall of Kings Landing besides the Sowing of the Dragonseeds which is happening in Season 2 and the Battle of the Gullet which is supposedly going to happen early in Season 3. Like, the fall happens right after the Battle of the Gullet so I don't see how that would work.

Had a feeling this season would end with the falling of Kings Landing. During an interview Criston Cole's actor made a small comment that stuck with me saying how the actor who PLAYED Gwayne Hightower was awesome, but he said played, not plays, so I knew that he would have to die this season and his death obviously happens during the fall of kings landing

“When dragons flew to war, everything burned..” including House Targaryen and their dragons, first Rhaenys and Meleys followed by almost every other Targaryen and dragon, and they never recovered. By the end of the Dance of the Dragons, Targaryens were left with no dragons and the sick little one died during the reign of Rhaenyra’s son. Without dragons, they were left valnurable and eventually overthrown by Robert Baratheon, event which would have never happened if the Targaryen house wasn’t torn apart between Aegon and Rhaenyra since Targaryens would still have dragons to this day rendering them unbeatable by the rest of Westeros.
All because of Viserys. Worst Targaryen king

So silly to me how in depth and long planned Otto's plan was except... they never prepared Aegon to actually BE a ruler. And somehow thought they'd keep him under their control, which makes little sense to me. 3:58 That's not all that fair. Of course they're going to "Turn" when you didn't protect them and their seats of power are sacked. Or their entire family line dies out. Their support was given with the idea Rhaenyra would defend them.

It's definitely kind of a finale event, so it would feel oddly placed if they put it in the middle of Season 3 since it can't be the premiere if that episode is for the Battle of the Gullet. In my opinion, they really should've just stuck with 10 episodes so that the Gullet would be episode 9 and the fall of KL would be episode 10, but oh well, I hope they do it well anyway.

I seriously doubt that Otto would die this season, because he last the nearly the end, where Rhaenyra take the city of Kings Landings, after Daemon takes the attention of Aemond, by taking the Riverlands, Gayne is a real possibility, but you also cant discount the death of Cole.

How will they explain how Daeron has a dragon then, assuming he is the son of Alicent and Cole? Is Daeron going to adopt Nettles storyline in which a person without Valyrian blood can claim a dragon? I would hate such a change. In the book its clearly stated by many people that Daeron has silver hair, he is a Targaryen

Because of the death of her son. She goes into a deep depression. That's another added layer of why Blood and Cheese was so devastating. They took both Aegon's heir and one of his dragons from him
