You are so delightful! I love that you weren't prepared. We're just sitting together spontaneously having a chat. Loved the 'chaos'. Lovely. Congrats on your promotion!
I agree that you should ask your loved ones about their favourite books, films and songs. My mother, for example, died many years ago but just the other day, I was singing one of her favourite songs and I found it very comforting to me and it brought back good memories. 🎶
Claire you are a delightful person to watch. Thank you for your brilliant content ❤
Thank you so much for watching 💓 It really means a lot!
Similar to what you've said about Austin it's with Dickens to me. As if I'm finding bits of my own soul inside his books, the best parts at that.
❤️🌈📚❤️🌈📚 thank you for a great video! ❤️🌈📚❤️🌈📚
📚 Well deserved promotion xx
That copy of A Room of One’s Own is beautiful!
Wow, great video! My husband is collecting Agatha Christie, so you've persuaded me to read some of them. I've also added the Janice Hadlow book to my TBR. What you may lack in quantity of videos - you certainly make up for in quality. You always inspire me to read better books.
Thank you so much for watching 💓 I hope you enjoy discovering Agatha Christie as much as I did!
I really love the energy in this haha! Congratulations on all your achievements, in all of your fronts!! This year I was swept away by Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, after really having enjoyed The Remains of the Day (which I think you would enjoy too!). Here's to another year of great books and happiness! 📚📕😊
I'm yet to read The Remains of the Day but really want to so I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I really like Never Let Me Go too 📚
📖 📕 📚
Like you, I can't read a book that somebody says I should. It is too much pressure and I'm a mood reader. 📚📖
I'm exactly the same!
I’m glad you had such a good year both personally and professionally. I had my best reading year ever and it’s partly thanks to BookTubers. I’m perfectly capable of choosing my own books but BookTubers recommended so many intriguing titles to me that I’m grateful for their suggestions. I laughed so hard when you said, “I don’t deserve to be here” but you certainly DO deserve to be here and we’re happy that you’re a part of our bookish world. 📚😄
Thank you so much for watching my videos and always being so supportive 💓 It means so much!
📚📚📚📚
🐇Loved hearing about your reading year! I have to say, hearing you speak about history and classics always makes me want to pick up a classic immediately. Wishing you a great reading year for 2024~
I hope you have a wonderful reading year too!
You are probably the most aligned to me reader on Booktube, but still encouraging new gems. I read all of Dickens (in order of publishing) when my kids were little, and lately read all of Agatha Christie (also as published). It was such a comforting project during lock down and nursing my mom. I also have a book journal. I look forward to diving in to complete the Brontës and some of your recommended histories on them. 📚
📖 📓📚🥰🤗
I love your kookiness 📖📚🤓❤
💓
Thank you Claire !📖💜🖌️📚🖊️

Congratulations on your promotion! Too, thank you for these lovely posts and book suggestions. I went to Bath for a week this past summer, and consequently, really enjoyed the video of your visit. I live in the US, so I can't pop over any time, but videos such as yours helps to keep the memories fresh.
Thank you! I'm so glad you had a wonderful time in Bath - it's such a beautiful city ❤️
Your bookshelf necklace is so pretty !!
Thank you! It's one of my favourites ❤️
You’re one of my favorite booktubers, Claire, and I’m so happy to hear you had such a great reading year! I’m not normally a rereader, but you inspired me to reread Pride and Prejudice for the first time in at least 10 years and I couldn’t be happier I picked it back up. I’m also reading from the gorgeous Chawton wallpaper edition, which you introduced me to, and I think it’s my favorite book cover ever!💖📚
Thank you so much - that's really kind ❤️ They're SO beautiful aren't they?!
I love your necklace! Wow, it's amazing
Thank you! I'm in love with it at the moment ❤️
Hi, Claire! I'm also characteristically late with 2023 wrap up videos and posts :) Here's to 2024 being another great reading year! 💗📚✨
I hope you have a brilliant reading year too! 📚
📚
📖📚📘📙
Great video, as always. I love those GORGEROUS editions of “A Room of One’s Own” and “Pride and Prejudice.” I must track them down. 😍😍😍
Thank you for watching! I really love them too ❤️ A Room of One's own is an older Folio and P&P is a Cranford Classics edition
Ooo I love your copy of A Room of One’s Own! 📖
It's definitely one of my favourites!
my favourite Antonia Fraser book is Warrior Queens. Really enjoyable book looking at female leaders and warriors from antiquity to the modern age. Really superb.
I really enjoyed Warrior Queens too!
📚📒❤
📚📖📒📃✒️📝🖍😂Thanks Claire
Hi Claire! Loved your video - I read 'A Christmas Carol' as a read-aloud to my son this year who is 8 and he really enjoyed it - I cannot say he understood everything exactly, but you are so right about it being accessible! Congratulations on your promotion!📚
Thank you so much!
I have never ready Price and Prejudice, I have a long haul flight from NZ to the UK soon, popping home for a visit, might start it on my flight
It’s a great book- we read it in school - 3 times maybe by the time we had studied and ‘pulled it all to pieces’ and still I loved it.
I really hope you love it as much as I do!
I'm one of those who's just found your channel! One of my reading goals for 2024 is to finally read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, I've been so intimidated by it but every time I see someone gush about this book and author now I can't help but feel quite excited and almost itching to finally pick it up^^
So glad you had such a great bookish year, I hope 2024 treats you just as well!📖
Welcome! I'm really enjoying your videos ❤️ Pride and Prejudice is just so lovely so I really hope you enjoy it 📚
I love your channel, I saw you on the national portrait gallery on Saturday. You looked amazing. I was going to my friend I've just seen one of my favourite book tubers! .
Aw that is so lovely! The National Portrait Gallery is always one of my favourite go-to days out ❤️ I hope you had a lovely time too!
📚📖📙
You have the prettiest books. Maybe mention the publisher/edition when you show a book?
I'm drooling over that P&P and the Agatha Christie editions you held up
I’ve added them all to the description of the video although some are now out of print including the edition of P&P 📚
Lol your charming babbling reminds me of me XD How my brain works! Also love that green top, looks great and the colour brings out your eyes.
Glad you had a great reading year, as did I, and had several favourites. Just finished Small Things Like These, and thought the ending was hopeful, but there would be a rocky road at the start of that ending (if that makes sense!)
I also started listening to the entire Poirot series, and loving them! Hugh Fraser is the narrator, and he played Hastings in the excellent BBC series. Also had David Suchet narrate one, which was great!
Thank you so much for watching! My neurodivergent brain was in full force in this video 😅 I also really like the Poirot audiobooks so I need to download a few more - do you have any particular recommendations?
@@Claire_Fenby Hello, no worries! I'm only up to the 4th in the series (as listening to them in 'proper' order, ie: publication order) so listening to The Murder of Roger Ackroyd at present. Going to listen to 1 a month, and there are 37 Poirot books in total, so slowly but surely haha.
They are all unabridged and published by Lamplight Audiobooks, and Hugh Fraser (or David Suchet) are the narrators 🙂I listen to them via Libby, but they'll list Hugh Fraser as the narrator in the details and those have been fantastic!
I love all your videos, Claire! I especially love your tour videos; they always make me want to visit all those places. Shame that I live on the other side of the world. On another note: I need to know what edition of Pride & Prejudice you held up. It's gorgeous and I need one!
It's a Cranford Classic! Thank you so much 💕 I hope you enjoy my upcoming videos too!
📚💜
I just found you !!!! ❤😊 l love your books!!! What press do these beautiful books come from?
Welcome! I hope you stick around ❤️ They're all mentioned in the description now so hope you find a copy 📚
📖📚♥👏💕
📚📖
OMG where is your necklace from? so gorgeoussss
I love it too! It's the World Book Day necklace from Tatty Devine. The link is in the description but full disclosure that it's a gifted piece ❤️
