  • Hikvision Cameras or any other generic brand IP Cameras which support RTSP protocol can be connected to Homekit Secure Video and hence displayed in the Apple Home app by following this tutorial.
We find the RTSP stream url of our camera and use it in Scrypted, a node.js based home automation platform, which helps us to make our laptop or rpi, a homekit bridge to connect our camera to Apple Home.
This way is completely free and enhances your Apple Ecosystem experience to next level.

You should make more videos on
"how to use non-HomeKit devices with HomeKit"
there is no CZcamsr who does it for India.... you can use the void to grow your channel at a great pace
People in India are less proficient in home-bridge configuration, etc.
    Great work!!
loved it and expecting more of such videos.

Does Scrypted need to be on all the time? Or doesn't it need to work after just giving QR with RSTP?

Hey Raghav, Nice videos, easy to follow. Appreciate the content.
while following you, i installed scrypted on raspberry pi 4 and it's working. i'm able to see my CP-Plus 3 cameras feed onto Home app using my iphone after adding the accessories all okay.
Question - For some reason, the notifications, or streaming options are not visible for any of the cameras. Any resolution for that ?
just to be clear, i've the homekit plugin installed, which i've restarted along with RTSP plugin and scrypted instance too. Any thing i'm missing? or any workaround, you can suggest ?
after resolving this (or without this) my intentions are to get telegram notifications somehow for the clips with motion detection? have you covered those 😀
Again, appreciate your good videos content. keep them coming 👍

I have a question - Did you try adding the NVR instead of individual cameras? I guess by changing the ChannelNumber in the RSTP url of the NVR once can access the different cameras?
Please share your finding with us in case you try it.
