This was straight to the point and helped me so much 🥹 Thank you so much! I can now create my slug bug without stressing out. I was just tying two colors together and it would always come undone 🫤

Thank you so much for not just this excellent tutorial that makes me feel like I will be able to make intarsia crochet, but also for your website full of free patterns, including the pumpkin coaster intarsia pattern to practice, I'm really glad I have found you, thank you for sharing your work, it's much appreciated and is so helpful! (going to grab some cream, orange, brown and green yarn to practice while making cute coasters! :) )

You can and should do this without the floats you use two balls of wool for MC one for left side one for right side.

You do an excellent job of explaining and demonstrating, however I think this technique creates a messy and unprofessional looking back side.
Do you have any suggestions for possible solutions to this problem?

Thank you! If it feels too messy, I would recommend using bobbins to place at each point of changing color. By doing that you won't have any floats on the back when you switch colors. Tapestry Crochet is another great option. You carry the colors as you work the yarn, which will make both sides clean and almost identical. My tutorial for how to do tapestry crochet can be found here: czcams.com/video/4IkstOIryFM/video.html. Hope that helps!

Since this is a coaster, I think adding a piece of felt on the back (either hot glue or sewing) can make it look neat and easy to do. 😊

I agree. This is NOT intartia. Lock for another channel that will show you how intartia crochet is done. There will be hardly no difference between the both sides.
