    Learn how to incorporate Intarsia Crochet techniques into a tapestry crochet project. I will show you how to drop your yarn and pull it back up into your work for a minimum of color bleed through on your tapestry crochet project. I will also show you how to pull yarn into your work from a distance and how to work over it. Adding these techniques will allow your tapestry projects to become reversible as well as become more professional in appearance. These techniques will build on your tapestry crochet knowledge as you gain experience in tapestry crochet.

    OMG! the yarn flip is amazing! my projects always end up with uneven tension because of the floats, and then aren’t as flat because of it. i can’t wait to try this!

    I used to do little projects with intarsia and tapestry. I always enjoyed it, but it’s been so long I wouldn’t know where to start!! Love the bunny!!

      Thank you so much Laurel - so glad you like it! I think it was about 35 years between tapestry projects for me so I totally get it 😉. I would recommend starting out with a small project to get your feet wet again - a coaster or mug sleeve. I think you might be surprised how quickly it all comes back to you. Have fun 🌸💕

    So I tried to do a mm candy blanket today and had to change colors multiple times and what I was doing was cutting the yarn and than I would have 20 ends to each sections .. I’m gonna use this pattern and practice I pray this works for me
    I frogged 15 rows and threw my project out .. it was a mess thank u so much

      I hope the video helps you! I hate having a tons of ends to weave in at the end - such a chore! I am always looking to make that part simpler with fewer ends to weave in. Let me know how it goes ❤️😊

    Can you do another video where you do the yarn flip .

  • @elizabethhenson9954
    @elizabethhenson9954 Před 2 lety +1

    I love your video but is there a way you can go a little slower on how to do the yarn flip over and how to do color changes if you add the new color 1 and 2 stitches later.

  • @elizabethhenson9954
    @elizabethhenson9954 Před 5 měsíci

    I love your videos but can you do another video with more detail on how to do the yarn flip and how to change colors on the wrong side when you have to change colors 2 stitches over.

      Will definitely put this on my list - I will have a tapestry pattern coming out later this year so hopefully I can get out another tapestry video with more details. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Tonya , do you have a way to do color blocks from slanting in crochet in the round hat for a child ?

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome  Před rokem +1

      My best recommendation for working tapestry in the round to help prevent slanting would be to work your stitches in the back loop only as well as using the "yarn under" technique which will also minimize the slant. I talk about the yarn under technique in my beginner tapestry guide video tutorial you can find here: czcams.com/video/M-pQc-HeODc/video.html
      I hope that helps! Thank you for watching 💕🌸 Tonya

    What yarn and crochet hook do you recomend for intarsia. It’s my first

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome  Před 2 lety

      Honestly you can use any yarn and hook size that you like to use. When beginning with it as you practice I would recommend at least a size DK light weight yarn as I find it easier to practice with either a light or medium weight worsted yarn. However, any size yarn would be fine. I hope that helps!

    My I ask if not being rude or mean do u put anything on your hands because mine have dried out since doing ceochet

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome  Před 3 lety +5

      Not at all - I know exactly what you mean! During the winter especially my hands get so dry and crocheting certainly dries my hands out even more. I use Nivea cream daily on my hands - sometimes reapplying multiple times in a day. I would also recommend using gloves when washing dishes. I should practice what I preach though because I am constantly skipping that and washing by hand without gloves. However, using gloves helps tremendously. I hope that helps 😊❤️

      Listen
      I flip my work to wrong side to right side and even tho I can’t get rid of the ends all together I find weaving my ends in as I go when I can helps a lot ! But I also found a knot her video and if I seen it correctly she used alottttttt of bobbins so much that I don’t think she was cutting anything..so I should use like multiple and I mean alotttttt of bobbins so I’m not cutting anything
