    Decided to throw some money at the "whoa" pedal since we have so much behind the "go" pedal. Super straight forward install. If I can do it, so can you.
    Thanks for watching!

    Glad I found you. I have the same brake kit for the front of my 83 Malibu, good to see how they install.

    I know this is late but I believe the orientation ring goes on the hub before the rotor is placed.

    Nice video Honestly tho i think you would have been better off doing the 2wd 2000 blazer spindel swap "at least in the front" its a direct bolt on, zero modification required and can be done for 1/4 of the price😅

      I considered Corvette spindles as well but it was easy enough to do this.. I was going Wilwood regardless.. which was going to be expensive no matter how I handled it :)

    did you by chance add the wildwood brake kit? if so how to you connect the front the cable to the wildwood kit since it doesn't have the adjuster rod? thanks. great video!

    • @betterbeaters
      @betterbeaters  Před rokem

      I sure did. I tried a few things but what ultimately ended up working for me was a 3/32 clevis.. I had to modify it slightly but it's been working just fine. If I had to do it again I'd just make one out of sheet steel, but link is below if you want to try it.. something like $7.

      @@betterbeaters is there any way you might be able to send a pic/video of the set up from the front cable to the back portion of the cables Im stuck! Appreciate any help you can give.

    Quick question im running the same set up on my 78 impala but in the front i get a little rubbing on one side of the of the brake pads but when i add shim i get the rubbing on the opposite side but the rotor spins freely what do you think i should do great video

    • @betterbeaters
      @betterbeaters  Před 9 měsíci

      Your shims might be too thick. See if you can find some thinner ones.. McMaster Carr has a great selection. If it's only barely rubbing maybe just run with it. They will self clearance pretty fast :)

    What's your plan for wheels since the rotors are as big as the factory wheels?

    • @betterbeaters
      @betterbeaters  Před 2 lety

      I showed the new wheels at some point in the video but I went with 15" Jegs Spikes. Not too flashy and pretty affordable. Was originally going to go with the YearOne 17" SSII replicas but I need a wider rim than what they offer.

    Dope video, did you use the stock master cylinder or a different 1 if so what's the part number?

    • @betterbeaters
      @betterbeaters  Před rokem

      Stock master cylinder for now... I might upgrade to Wilwood at some point just for bragging rights but stock is working great.

      @@betterbeaters ok did you have to modify it any or did all the stock stuff work?

    I have similar rotors but I bought 2 passenger side rotors do you think it you’ll make a big difference if I installed them anyways?

    • @betterbeaters
      @betterbeaters  Před rokem

      These rotors are directional.. there's a little arrow stamped into it that tell you which way it needs to rotate. You may need to swap one out for drivers side.

    • @betterbeaters

      I'm running 15x7 up front and 15x8 for street / 15x10 for strip in the rear.

      I used everything that came with the kit as directed. I'm sorry for the vague answer.. it's been a while since I put these brakes on but I know I just followed their instructions.

    Why is there what looks like a diff rear cover on you Ford 9"?

    • @betterbeaters
      @betterbeaters  Před 2 lety +1

      That axle is actually an 8.8 out of an Explorer. I had Moser put 9 inch ends on the axle tubes when they built the rear end to make it easier to buy brakes. That was actually their idea. I had never heard of it but I guess it's a pretty common upgrade.
