One thing I've realized- people will think interacting is an "emotional load" and abandon you further. When what actually powers recovery is people who care about you checking in regularly and kindly. Don't back away to "give them space" and leave your friends and family alone when they're sick. It actually increases the emotional load much more for them to have to be the one to reach out, or sit with the reality that you don't care enough to initiate or check on them when they need you the most. Everyone's life is "busy," but we all make time for what's important!

I appreciate this video. I usually pay attention to my energy depleting patterns and recognizing types of tiredness, but I have not thought of recognizing my other life loads. Hearing it makes perfect sense, and it explains why I can end up getting too overloaded. I haven't been necessarily dialing down on any loads when a different one appears or increases. Unfortunately, that has led to some episodes of increased pain and physical, mental, and emotional tiredness or overwhelm.

You articulated these facets that I knew to exist and had difficulty clarifying to others. These are all stressors, even if eustress. But they all require mental, physical, and emotional energy. It’s about overall capacity.

How can someone get help if crashing from basic interactions, such as phone calls?
