I remember seeing somewhere someone saying that he would be physical, like Baby Yoda and that Sweet Toth creature, but nothing stops them from putting CGI on him to make him more cute and believable, but he still has his transformations, where the The entire team will probably have to give heart and soul for Chopper. Chopper could be CGI like Sonic, Pikachi and Rocket, but he could be like Momo and Appa, incredible but momentary CGI, and unfortunately Chopper can't do that, he's very important to the series and can't count on goodwill of the lack of pressure to always do good work, and so, they chose constancy.

@@Koutzin Knuckles was the title character of his series and was still CGI. Sure, they had to give Wade more focus, but we won't be seeing Chopper until Drum Island, which I would expect to be Episode 5 of Season 2.

I was very skeptical about the effects since one piece is so cartoony but the stretching was actually nice and the idea to use a rubber band for the mouth stretch was really good

kinda makes you realize that luffy's rubber physics never really made sense since he would need to whip his arms IRL. So it was always going to be a littel off or completely different in a live action version. lovely CGI great work by the team. but if uncanny is all you have uncanny is all youll get.

Using the rubber band seems very smart and so simple.
But honestly there are just things that don't look in Live-Action, One Piece clearly is one of them.
The worst part though was the terrible looking costumes, I've seen better cosplays than that.
