    Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis also co-written HER- “Damage” which is probably one of the best r&b songs I’ve heard in a min (maybe in years)
    They gotta be the only producers that can adapt into this new era of brining da old/timeless feel in r&b and make it a hit in this era

    • @DLK90zBaby
      @DLK90zBaby Před 3 lety +25

      Yeah “Damage” samples “Making Love In the Rain” which Jimmy and Terry wrote and produced in 1987. I was happy when i found out H.E.R. sampled it for “Damage” cuz the original track is such a great gem and H.E.R. did the sample justice. Probably is the best R&B song released this era.

      As Jim & Terry indicated however, H.E.R. and her team are perfectly capable of creating a completely original tune. Those brothers can bring her in to collaboratively chef up something original and electric.

They gave a five star interview showing their brilliance and musical genius. They will for ever be iconic and black royalty of music/producing. Glad to see they have come out with there New album and looking for the album volume two. Great interview breakfast club it was refreshing to finally have someone from the music industry who can actually articulate words and not sound like they just woke up from a drunken weeds/barbiturate/narcotic slump

    I could go on and on, naming situations, dates and people, who are connected to my memories, musically...but playing in the back of my life, is the music from these bruthas. It also needs to be mentioned, that they were just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which to most recording artists, is considerably bigger than a Grammy. These guys are legends.

    These are reflective of the times we grew up in. Specifically on the interview, they flipped all the pessimism to optimism in a blink of the eye. Media sensationalism is not needed here, we just need the stories in making the music. It was enough to engage me for over an hour and I watched it 3x already. Job well done, Jimmy, Terry & the breakfast club.
