One of the most common complaints of the S550 is the resonator box that crosses the exhausts. This box is very heavy and very restrictive. The simplest solution has been getting an aftermarket cat-back system, but this can be rather costly. Now thanks to MRT you can delete the resonator without having to replace the entire exhaust on your 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 GT Mustang.
Available only at CJ Pony Parts, Mustang Racing Technologies, aka MRT, has engineered this Resonator Delete H-Pipe that easily replaces that bulky and restrictive OE Resonator. Manufactured completely out of CNC mandrel bent 304 Stainless Steel tubing, this H-Pipe will bolt-in-place once two simple cuts have been made and the OEM segment is then unbolted and removed. The new H-Pipe will reuse the two factory clamps found on front and MRT will supply two new clamps to use on the rear section after the applicable cuts have been made.
Installation is pretty simple, remove the factory exhaust, cut off the factory resonator box and clamp on the new h-pipe, no welding required. The whole process can be don in about an hour in your garage or driveway and the results are amazing. As soon as you fire up the engine, even with the factory mufflers, your Mustang will sound much louder and more aggressive, like the muscle car that it is.
After installation your Mustang will be ready to hit the road, no tune is required with MRT's Resonator Delete H-Pipe.

The resonator started rattling in my 15 GT Premium the day after the warranty expired. The replacement was $400 without the install. Ordered this and had it installed last week for 1/3 the cost. This video is spot on for the results. I even recorded my own before and after.

I've heard that some lose torque with the H Pipe installed. I have Roush axle back on my automatic (traffic here sucks) 2015 GT and I am considering and H Pipe. Also, confirming, no issues with California emissions.

Bill, these videos are great! I love the H-pipe look and sound. However, does anyone offer the mufflers and pipes coming straight back to the center (even if it requires a new rear valance) like Shelby?

@CJ PONY PARTS: I have a 2021 GT and I get the "Exhaust Mode Selection is not available" dash message only on the freeway going over 65 mph it appears. Any advice? It's all stock exhaust , oem resonator still on it.

Does doing a resonator delete affect the car in a California Smog check? as in not being able to pass one? It shouldn't since the cats are still on correct?

The resonator is difficult to cut on the car as it is very close to the floor.
Dears, i ordered this h pipe from you guys along with the quad roush axle back. I was told that i will need to cut into my stock exhaust in order to complete the installation. Could you please clarify if that is true then where exactly am i to cut on my stock exhaust?

Hesham Thabit The resonator delete and the axleback will require cutting. There are videos on both showing the process. A length of stock pipe under the axle is still used

If you don't enjoy the drone of a V8, get a Tesla. Otherwise, get some nitrous oxide in them veins.

No you will not need a tune.
Is there any hp gain with the h pipe installed to the stock exhaust?
No, the days of 25+hp for your exhaust on your stang are over. There is better flow, but the HP gain (I'm sure there is a wee tad) will be so minimal, it probably wouldn't even change your dyno numbers.
Steeda did a video of the hp gain on the H-pipe and X-pipe. On a Mustang Dyno it showed 5+ hp gain on the H-pipe and 6+ Torque and on the X-pipe 6+ hp gain and 6+ torque gain. Plus 15 pounds lighter and better sound. All good for about $150 dollars spent!!!

What would you recommend if i wanted to delete the resonator and the muffler? There really isn't a package to do that.

ckdifazio1996 Every Mustang I have heard with muffler delete and either off road pipes or resonator delete was overly loud
ckdifazio1996 Go with this H-pipe kit or the FRPP X-pipe, then get the Magnaflow Race axle-back or Kooks muffler delete kit, both use just pipe, no mufflers. If you keep the stock cats, it won't be too loud. If you want to delete the cats and resonator (especially adding headers), use a muffler otherwise it will be too loud.
sounds great with the stock mufflers. i just dont like how the ford motors have that slow down rev. i didnt like that in my 08 GT. my tunrda falls down like it hits a brick wall. i like that more.
It's all in the tune of the car. If you wanted it gone, a tune shop could do it.
It's to keep the cars RPM's up as you're accelerating.

The mufflers are. Most resonators have a strait through design and are only there to help resonate droning.

When I bought my 2016 GT Premium my sales person was trying to suggest I lease the car because I turned my previous 2 cars over after 3 or 4 years with about 10 to 15 thousand miles on them. I was kind of surprised at first because I didn't think they offered leases on sports cars. BUT, after she checked she confirmed that I was correct, and leases were not available for the GT model. Maybe it depends where you live??? I'm in PA. I wouldn't have leased anyway because I always wanted to eventually get a Mustang, I wanted to be able to modify it if I wanted to, and I plan on keeping it after I pay it off.

A little white smoke on cold start is no big deal, blue smoke would mean oil.
Would like to hear the H pipe from a 2018 Mustang GT Please.
Have this h pip on my 2018 Roush RS2......amazing sound. Tried it also with an x pipe. IMO the h pipe is better not raspy at all, deep muscle car tone. I woud reccomend getting after market exhaust to get the most out of it. The stocks do not give it justice. The neighbors hate me....

@@Dude-tb8ry I would say the sound is hard to describe or explain other than it’s a lot deeper tone with an H pipe as opposed to an X pipe when I had an H pipe on my 2016 GT convertible and Roush axle backs it was the most amazing sound you could ever hear

So I've heard if you just do the hpipe and don't do long tube headers you lose power ( i was told that from a performance shop and they probably just wanted me to go with that since it's a lot of labor ) is this true? I already have a muffler delete and am looking to install an Hpipe
The resonator delete frees up a restriction and removes weight as well. You will not lose any power.

It will also depend on the muffers but I would suggest an X pipe.

If you want the 60's muscle car sound, delete the resonator with straight pieces of pipe. If you want the stock sound but louder, H-pipe. If you want the corvette sound, get an X-pipe. If you want the nascar sound, Y-pipe with a single outlet dumped out the passenger side.
The gains will be small. The reason car guys like the new 5.0 is it's already a great engine.

i put a xpipe for a gt it fit my 2015 v6 clamped on in the front welded the back
you can put it on anything if you're brave enough

+Jose Sustaita X Pipe is louder but kinda raspy loud and will give you gains in the higher RPM range, the H pipe while not as loud it is a more deeper sound, more like what in my opinion a muscle car should sound and you get the gains in the lower RPM's. I bought both and tried them out and I decided to go with the H Pipe and I love it!

It's possible but its easier to remove the catback since it is pretty simple to do.
