Guys, initially this problem existed, but now you can find more or less everything, the thing that disgusts me is the markup that the shopkeepers make on €100 products by selling them for €300 and the extra profit generated , in practice only the players are the ones screwed by the system as the shopkeepers will march on our passions for their own profit. And I'm not saying that the products shouldn't increase in price: But on day one or as soon as an expansion is released, if it is successful, there is an immediate price increase based on the prices that online scalpers make. Before, buying in a comic book store was different, now they seem like sellers Random online for their prices.
The marked up prices are crazy lol. OP01 will eventually get reprinted just like in Asia. If you're selling OP01 singles, you want to sell now before reprint
It already has been reprinted multiple times and the price is still inflated. My local has a heap of product but no one buys it because its at 2x retail

Yeah but they’re most likely Japanese versions. You can only play using the English version with the exception of some local tournaments

i love how in hong kong the op01 boxes are 68 usd and op08 are 35 usd and prb01 boosters are 4 usd and op08 boosters are 1.3 usd

its STILL like this - besides maybe getting your hands on a black structure deck. However you need a LOT of OP-02 cards to make it playable

Scalpers are bad, but what’s even worse are game stores that are trying to make the same profit by overpricing goods - sucks that it happens in all tcg games

Thankfully my lgs has been able to get starter decks in, charge retail and we are building a nice community!
The same happened to me at my LGS. I should've bought a case of boosters when the 1st set released for like $70-80 a box. I didn't think the game was gonna last tbh. But , After playing it recently and experiencing how well designed it is and fun to play, I realized I made a gross misjudgment.
It isn't popular though, especially for that stupid mark up price. A lot of shops don't even run game days and even less shops run game days for it
I buy singles the price of packs is INSANE.
part of the fun is not knowing what you will pull from the packs too tho
Canada is crazy expensive Romance dawn sells for like $600 here and the booster packs range up to 13-15 for the 06 and 07 sets, yugioh sells for cheaper. I may just stick to the sumulator to play instead of dropping 300 on a meta deck

You want to invest in the BLUE BOTTOM OP1 booster box. Those are the most rare and will be worth a fortune, and cannot be reprinted. The blue bottom was the first print ever and they fixed the issues and rereleased it with a white bottom. The blue bottom is now selling for over $1,000. I have one and will keep it sealed for YEARS.

Boxes going for 130 online, even at 130 its crazy. Yugioh is half the price to get into.
At least they got the boxes, every place I got only has the starter decks
Had a similar experience the other day … still want to get into it but didn’t know it’s $40 minimum just to get a viable starter deck, plus extra cost of building it up
I feel that they need to make make boxes. If you don't want to look for singular packs or spend 150 plus on a booster box, than they should make more traditional styled boxes. For an example just look at how pokemon does it.
Not going to lie I agree with the sentiment of this video.
. My ability to get any of the next two box sets are pretty much going to determine whether I keep attempting to play the game competitively or if I'm only going to just keep it as a fun game to play with my daughters and friends only

Lucky I bought two green starters for cheap. But prices too crazy. It's a throw off to want to invest. Too expensive. They are stupid if they think I'm paying 300 for a booster box that's only worth 90 most
I legitimately understand this, I got into the game just 2 weeks ago and it was HARD to get any product or packs, I was lucky to find out ST-10 came out 1 week ago, so I was able to buy 2 and use them, been playing at my LGS and getting packs that way and met people who sell their's singles. So I am just lucky I suppose but yea OPTCG is heavily under printed.
This game is going to die out quickly like Super. When you have over 1000 episodes, you're a fresh new game and youre already printing out cards from the most recent Arc, is just a recipe for a quick kill.

I had to go to two different stores to get my st-01 and st-08 luffy decks. Even my LGS doesn’t even have any OP chaf. It’s insane.

Nothing annoys me more then a shop that doesn't keep enough stock. If your running a buisness and your always sold out, even if it's popular, eventually people will turn away and go to other stores. It's the managers job to monitor the sales and adjust product orders accordingly. Had a very nice tcg shop shut down for this very reason. Couldn't get anything because everything was sold out. People stopped going and it went under.
You obviously have never ran a shop…
It has nothing to do with the store and everything to do with the supplier. A store can only get as much as a supplier will give them…
It’s better to understock and sell out than overstock and never sell. Basic business

This was mainly a problem with the manufacturer itself. The first 2-3 sets and structure decks were so under printed it caused these shortage and prices. Stores got their initial shipment on release (which was capped since supply was so low) and that was it. They couldn't order or get more from any distributor.
It's been fixed for the most part since this vid, but it definitely hurt the game and getting new players.

Im into mtg with a bunch of friends.. and one of them bought 12 booster box of one piece to try it out... alone. No one in the lgs around us plays it.
But in my country it only costs 3.36 USD

I was very lucky and got op05 box for $100. All the online prices were saying about 160 at the time. Now I'm trying to have a very lackluster enel team. Really don't want to spend over $200 on cards just to make the team good. The price for these cards are stupidly insane

Been playing for over a year and still can’t find cards I have pieced together some starter decks but in order for them to be competitive I’m gonna have to order single cards that aren’t cheap
