Funnily enough, Groningen is the only city where people don't assume I'm German. I'm from Antwerp, Belgium. And I absolutely love the vibe in Groningen. People are extremely nice up there and it's not too hard to get outside of the city and find some lush countryside views. Perfect balance if you ask me.
I am American and I stayed in Antwerp as a student for one year and in Ghent for three years.
I love when cars are not allowed in the city center! Would love to visit! Looks like such a charming place :)

I totally agree Amsterdam is not the only cool city in the Netherlands!
Amsterdam is the second worse after Rotterdam. Rotterdam is just way too windy, lots of junkies, Amsterdam is full of wannabe's and annoying British tourists.
@@DarkAngelEU I feel like lots of cities would be Godly if annoying tourists stayed home.
@@fntatn It really depends on the city and the tourists, I find. If they're visually present, like druggies in Amsterdam or couples in shorts with cameras strapped around their neck in Greece, it will take away some of your authentic experience of the place because they keep distracting you from what the location provides. A place like Berlin, or New York, where people often just roam around and aren't visibly tourist-y, I'd say it can definitely add to the atmosphere and the pleasure of meeting fellow natives in such a faraway location suddenly becomes surprising instead distracting :)
I went to Groningen for an exchange. Absolutely love the city! Your video reminds me a lot about my sweet experience there :(

Awesome! This snack in Brasil is called Bolovo, it all started with a truck accident on the road. One was carrying eggs and the other one flour and milk. The mixed up over the hot pavement when the trucks have crashed.

I met a Dutch au pair here in America and she was driving a car with a bumper sticker in the dialect of Groningen. I didn't know the dialect, but I recognized it as possibly a Dutch dialect, so I asked her.

So what is happening in that beautiful square in front of Grote Markt? I have always enjoyed watching it on CZcams but for some time now it has looked like a building site, an eyesore with apparently no one actually doing any work. Such a shame!
