Nah, in front of cameras in interviews and stuff Ronaldo defenitely does talk like he respects Messi but off the camera he is different unfortunately, there have been many cases of Ronaldo(and especially his family) disrespecting Messi while Messi literally never in his entire career said anything bad about Ronaldo, a recent example of this is Ronaldo commenting "Facts" under a post on an Instagram fanpage of Ronaldo himself, saying that Messi robbed an award (Ballon d'or) and Ronaldo deserved to win it(even tho he finished 6th), and Ronaldo's sisters basically talk trashes Messi monthly on Instagram(saying that Messi bows down to Ronaldo or making fun of Messi's bicycle kicks or saying that Messi won Ballon dor 2019 because of "Mafia" or saying that the World Cup 2022 that Messi just won is the "worst World Cup in history", etc., one of his sisters said that word "Messi" is banned in Ronaldo's house, it's actually insane how negatively obsessed Ronaldo and his family is with Messi despite how video like the one you reacted to and media try to potray it like it's all respectful from Ronaldo's side. I respect Ronaldo as a football player but not as a person.
I use to think it's just healthy rivalry between the two, but lost my respect for Ronaldo a little after the "factos" incident. The way I see it, he lost himself in the constant comparisons, praises and criticisms from the media and fans regarding the debate of who is better and sort of made it his goal to prove to the world that he is indeed the better one, leaving remarks like 'If Lionel Messi wins the Ballon d'Or, I'll quit football' ect.
His focus shifted from being the best football player to being a better player than Messi. Whereas Messi never really concerned himself in his rivalry with Ronaldo or anyone else for that matters, he was definitely competitive but not in the sense of trying to be the best in the world, Messi's ultimate price had always been football itself.
Not only that he embarrassed himself simpin over a younger Messi is younger then messi I would be ashamed tryna prove myself and compare myself to a younger messi is 36 ronaldo is 38
In Europe many people lost their respect for Messi after his disgusting behaviour during the World Cup. He was disgusting in the match against Holland (look it up on you tube)

None of the replies actually answered your main questions so I will give you one and I hope it's clear for you. The reason why people put Messi and Ronaldo against each other is simply because people are media puppets, so easily manipulated by media games that literally painted Cristiano as a villain for a really long time since his youth in England vs Messi as the angel who does no wrong. It's still going on to this day btw, you will never find as much negative press surrounding any athlete as it is to Ronaldo and that's actually one of the main reasons he forced his way out of England last year. From a neutral point of view, anyone who sees major media outlets posting about him everyday to belittle him, especially when he loses a game, you'd think he killed someone because there's no other justification to why media owners hate him so much and are always bleaching Messi's overall performances. None of these videos does Cristiano justice for the way he's been literally bullied by the media for like twenty years, imagine the mental strength he has to face all the negative stuff said about him everyday along with his family. Messi might not have a problem with Cristiano, but the people behind surely have and there's no doubt about it. Pressure is healthy to a certain extent but there's a point when it becomes too much and leads eventually to outbursts and negative reactions, you will find people saying Cristiano did this and that but they never mention the disrespect and disgusting provocation that will break any human. I'll give you an example, Barcelona fans (Messi's former team) along with rival fans in Spain had a chant for Ronaldo where they called him with homophobic and xenophobic slurs, as well as cursing out his mother literally every away match, they even chanted it during one of their legends memorabilia in the stadium (you will also find people saying it's just a minority but that's not true, it was a moment of silence and the chant was so clear to the point Cristiano kept shaking his head in disgust). You will always find false stories about Cristiano coming from people online who weren't even adults when Messi and Ronaldo both were in Spain, I remember everything so vividly and I lived it so I know the extent of abuse from all sorts Cristiano had to endure, nothing was easy for him. That's why you will find young football players now idolizing Cristiano more, Mbappé literally plays with Messi yet he always says Cristiano is his biggest idol. Abuse from media is what gets people to hate, obviously both men have different characters but due to Cristiano's straightforwardness and boldness he has been always painted as egocentric and selfish when in reality he's a very empathetic and emotional person. Messi reacts negatively sometimes on the field but no media speaks about it, when Cristiano does you find the whole media worldwide talking about it, even when his child died last year media didn't stop crucifying him for his team's losses. I remember in Spain he had an away game and rival fans were verbally abusing him with chants i'm talking the whole stadium thousands of people chanting and throwing stuff at him, the refs were turning a blind eye to everything, he was getting fouled by players with no consequences, he had a bloody ankle by the the end of the match and when he said that he didn't understand the refs decisions to a reporter after the game he got suspended for next games. Everything was so bad and biased, but what hurt him the most is when he went through some bad time in terms of performances and his home fans booed him and borrowed the same xenophobic slurs (In Spain there's a history of oppression towards the Portuguese) and the frustration made him even cry towards the end of one game, close to tears on a lot of away matches. Which of course led to more mocking and abuse because "men don't cry", the thing about Cristiano is that he's a controversial character he's both regarded as a very masculine figure in sports yet he's a very emotional person but when he shows emotions people don't like that and you wouldn't find much said about his childhood traumas like bullying, poverty, losing his dad at a young age, his brother being a drug addict, him being alone most of the time growing up. He is simply an inspiring person for everyone struggling, he's a very open person and never been shy to talk about it. ( if you want to know more about this subject just pick any documentary about him and it will show you his background )
Finally i would say that both Messi and Ronaldo are great footballers but hopefully history will do justice away from all the misleading judgements said currently and I wish everyone a good day ! ✨
