Ronaldo is Lebron James with Michael Jordan Mentality. Talent wise Messi is better, But he lucks killer instinct like Ronaldo. Ronaldo is the most hardworking footballer ever. He is also a big game player. If you personally ask me who do you enjoy watching most I will say Messi. However, If I was a coach and was asked to pick one of them to have on my team I will pick Ronaldo. The biggest difference is Ronaldo started his career in the hardest league in the world as a midfielder, that's why earlier in his carrier he wasn't scoring that may goals. On the other hand Messi started his career in a relatively easier league than Ronaldo. He was in the best team at that time surrounded by great players like Ronaldinho, Xavi and Iniesta. So it wasn't difficult for him to flourish. Ronaldo also challenged and proved himself in 3 top leagues and also done way more for his country despite having a bad national team compared to Leo Messi who has a better national team squad. Long story short, if our metric is pure talent Messi is the best player of all time. However, if we are talking about who has a better carrier or if we are talking about greatness, Ronaldo is the GOAT. There is a difference between being best and greatness. Messi is the best and Ronaldo is the Greatest.

For me there is a huge difference between being the best and the greatest. For instance, if you ask me who is the greatest boxer of all time, my answer will Muhammad Ali. However, if you ask me the best boxer of all time I will say Floyd Mayweather or Mike Tysen. Because Talent and Ability wise I think they're better than Muhammad Ali.
