Oh my ... that bass player has some style! And the drummer is ROCK steady. In fact, all five of these kids fucking nailed this song. I love their version.
I was first homing in on the stellar guitar, but soon realized the same thing you note...the bass, the drums, all superb. Vocals too. These kids did an amazing job. Loved it.
I absolutely love how naturally animated the bassist is, just being her best self
That would be INSANE !
This is one of those deceptively simple bass parts that’s absolutely key to getting the feel of this song right, and she NAILS it!
@@MrBerryK Yup. I was watching this and thinking what a rock-solid rhythm section that was.
She is letting it out.
The bassist's checkered sneakers did not go unnoticed. Nice homage.
Needed to flick some picks at the camera though.
Sweet vans
Great observation!
Agreed !
So did the singer's eye liner
That bass player……I love her ….she is breathing music…guitar solo was spot on…..brilliantly done everybody …
Bass player looks and moves awesomely
That bass is thundering like a freight train.
I also am 70 years old , These young people are great. They know how to rock☮☮☮
The lead guitar is on freakin' point!
Why can't School of Rock kids perform at the Super Bowl?
Great idea!!!! 😊😊👍👍
TRUTH!!!😊
Fantastic idea 👍😊 some real musicians performing with real love of their gift, instead of those God awful narcissistic spoiled brats we call "stars" looking to increase their bank account.. great idea 👍
I will watch definitely!
They can't because that would make too much sense!
The bassist and drummer are locked in the pocket I love it
I'll say they are! The groove here is tight!
Bun E Carlos would love the drums... But the bass player stole the show for me!!!
I could watch that bass player all day. She really steals the show.
Fred Flintstone buddy sounds like a creep lol
He is not, you are.
Same. Looks like she is having a blast
The singer is much more impressive. She's really good.
YABBA DABBA DOO !!
These kids nailed a classic in a cleaner, smoother way, yet keeping in all the greatness of the original. Big yay to them all for doing that, so well done!
Stayed true to the original song very well.
yeah !! great !! i think 2 members of the regrettes have been students here !! ( ??)
Her singing was subpar
Great work all the way around!
@@markbowman7420 and yours is BETTER?
I love the original but I love this version too! And my neighbor loves it too. Every time I play it, they put a brick through my window to hear it better.
HA ! good one.
😂
Damn....you got pal...laughed my ass off on that one!!!!!!!!!!!
😆😮
The lead singer ... man.. she is on the spot! hats off!
I want her to want me...but I'm too mature now to have her accept me.
She's cuter than a bed bug.@@mikejohn0088
The lead guitarist has a GREAT tone in this cut. the whole band is really tight too. excellent job.
Agree. But lower yr guitar, you can't "rock" with the guitar in that position..😉 that's my advice to the kid!
70 years old and so so happy that the rock energy is still being carried on through our future generations. Talent is a gift but you have to work hard to harness and grow with it. Keep kicking arse, love it.
I envy you... You lived it....
Well said sir.
I'm 68 and from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and I totally agree, these kids are amazing. If you haven't seen their version of Bohemian Rhapsody you absolutely must, it was the first "School of Rock" video that I saw and it brought me to tears...actually I was laughing and crying because it was THAT good, it starts out slow just give them time to start kicking it... czcams.com/video/pHK4chiRPts/video.html
67. Same here.
55. Long live Cheap Trick at Budokan !!!
Love how animated all the players are . Girl on the bass is terrific
Great cans too....
The kids are minors john.
@@xSGTxPEPPERx I was hoping he meant Vans-as in the sneakers she’s was wearing.
Bass player doing what good bass players do.
1. Keep everything all together.
2. Bring the funk.
😁😁😁
Rick should be flattered. He's no easy guitarist to copy and this kid nailed all of the lead parts. Wow!
I agree. The lead player was terrific ... as was Rick.
I always imagine Rick crashing this video with his signature ball cap, sweater, and bow tie
Lead guitarist needed saddle shoes!
Yep, this kids got it down!
I think Rick, Robin, Bunn E. and Toma would all be proud.
her voice is awesome.
My faith in the preservation of rock n roll has been restored. These kids rocked it!
Right... Rocked it, they're kids....
Shout out to the bass player! She’s Awesome! ❤️
It was the shoes she was wearing. Channeling Rick Nielsen lol
yep that bassline was steady and thundered along like a freight train
Maggie Smith......she's fantastic!
She feels the music. Not just play it
Very clear bass line, great playing.
These kids aren't just putting on a peformance . . . they are DIGGIN' IT! Really gettin' into it.
It makes me smile when watching talented young people play songs of my youth. Good music is timeless and is very refreshing to see a new generation appreciate these songs enough to not only play them, but play them very well.
Vince Marshall ...I feel the same way, awesome
Exactly Vince.
Love the joy that they bring.
Rock will live on forever!
So true Musik of today hasnt got the same spirit like the Musik of the past
you guys rock. i'm 67. you tube is great to be able to see stuff like this. reminds me of when i was your age. I played in some awesome bands. The young man on lead guitar has very advanced techique and nuance for his age. All of you have great influence and teachers. enjoy! Remember!
The energy these very talented young musicians puts this into rock perspective!
I am in my 60"s and these kids are killing it, headphones on volume cranked...............
Late 60s and enjoying this!
Someone should send this to CT .
Robin , Rick , tom , daxx and Bun will be blown away. Great cover , young rockers! 🎼🎵🎶🎶🎵🎸🥁 back here again in March of 2022. Im still damn impressed. Kudos and bravos to everyone. Keep rocking guys and gals.
I love a bass player with a groove on. Go Maggie!
Ive been a Cheap Trick fan for over 40 years and a guitar player and I can tell you these young people NAILED it! Everyone sounded professional but also full of mojo...just like Cheap Trick!
Can someone please tell me why this doesn't have millions of views? I mean I was a teenager in the sixties and I have seen a lot of rock and roll and this performance is absolutely perfect. It's insane how good these folks are. All of them. They are so tight it's as if they've been together for years. There isn't a note out of place, their timing is perfect, not a single slip up anywhere. The lead singer has a beautiful alto voice that shines in this song, the guitarists are absolutely crazy good, the drums are spot on and the bass player is basically from another planet. I would gladly pay money to see this group perform, anytime, anywhere. I don't know how School of Rock works but whatever they are doing it is working. Each of you should continue in music; don't get distracted, don't become accountants or coders or go work for Google. The world is a much better place with you as musicians.
Because it's a bit of a dull rock by numbers pop tune
I will tell you why. The girls vocals not good at all very dry and this is not a female song eather
I agree with you totally! This is a fantastic performance!
Stewart Johnson - This is a reply, instead of a separate comment, because you pretty much said it all. The very last phrase, where the vocalist intoned 8th's - then the lead joined her during the 7th -- that was as good as it can be done.
@@sidstewart7399, well, Cheap trick is that kind of a band, whose songs can maybe sound a bit simple, but they are certainly not.
I’m impressed that the drummer is actually playing the kick snare pattern correctly during the verses. Not a lot of drummers get that right.
These kids were some of the School of Rock AllStars in 2019. The website says that students audition for the AllStar program, and each year less than 1 percent of School of Rock students are selected to represent the school as AllStars. Congrats Kiddos!
The drummer "Nate's" grin is priceless! Well done all! Shout out to the lead singer "Aden" too she was wicked. Tricky song to sing and she nailed it!
That grin comes from the confidence of knowing that he and the rest of the band are absolutley nailing it !
I love this song. The girl on bass is awesome. The girl singing made the song. Actually it is hard to have favorites with this group.!!
Of all the vocalists to come out of this school, Aden seems to be the class. Let it all hang out, Aden!
She did it again. Awesome talent running School of Rock.
What a groove! So tight! I've lost count of how many times I've watched this stellar track! Her vocals are out of sight!
This makes me so happy to see young people making music.
That's the voice of a rocker. Hope you're still out there four years later.
Ya, I came here from " California Dreamin' " and made up my mind I gotta gush. Not only did Aden ( lead ) range it properly she put the same gusto ( spirit ) Cheap Trick did in oh so many of their live performances. And as with Cali Dream, the studio mixing is superb. The axes and the accompanying artists are spot on and drums has something to groove about. I am 1 happy old Dude who is ecstatic the former masterpieces are being re-mastered by a group of folks that appreciate making it heard all over again. In some cases the way is should have been. Captured with the latest tech.
the bass player steals the show!! she rocks!!!
They ALL rock! Those folks are TIGHT!
@@paulbrown7064 drummer looks like he's really enjoying this
@@63striker Oh HELL, they're ALL havin' an absolute BLAST from the looks of it.
This cover is not a cheap trick. It sounds great and you can hear the power and the passion of the band! They nailed it!
Kid on lead guitar killing it
I Agree. Note For Note.
These guy's are top notch. What a treat to listen to.
These kids got groove!! Excellent job, all!
Solid,
Love her voice.
Tight band. Everyone is right on with timing, pitch, accents. I am very impressed here!
Yes, and no auto tune either, which is rare nowadays. A REAL vocalist!
Next generation of rockers, go get em. From a 54 year old rocker. Love how the girls are so expressive!
the bass, guitars, and drums were right on point...excellent!
school of rock is legit they know how to teach kids to play music these kids that did the song was awesome
Every band member was totally rocking it.......but then the bass player is just enough over the edge to steal the whole show.
Excellent ! Everyone put all their passion into this performance 👍👏👏 Can't stop listening to it 😂
I LOVE this singer!!!
Absolutely loved the energy of the rhythm section. That bass player leaning in and pushing that beat. Just wonderful.
Rhythm section is killin' it.
I hope Aden realizes how special her voice is. Combined with the way she 'feels' the song she's singing, she is star material.
I think Aden has given up singing. Does anyone know for sure.?
WOW ! Super Star !
@@richardstedman7462 she is definitely still singing! Currently looking for votes on opening act :-)
Another great School of Rock performance. The bassist's checkered shoes were a perfect touch and it added to the vibe.
How can anyone not like this? Great job guys!!!
She's got a VOICE! 😄👍
it's great to see young people playing all the older music!! Rock and Roll forever!!!!
Maggie is a BEAST on Bass... Really gets into the music..Fun to watch!!
I love the fact that they are playing perfectly and still enjoying themselves, doesn’t even feel like they’re sweating it. It’s supposed to be fun and they are having fun.
The energy of this performance is so awesome. One of my SOR favourites!!
I just love watching and listening to these great kids!
The singer has a really interesting voice. Kind of deep and baritone, yet his the higher notes very well too. Totally impressed. She made the song her own. GO GO GO!!
Yep!!
Kinda made me think of Joan Jett here and there
I agree, however they could have found a much better angle to film her.
Yes, would love to see her do 'Still Got The Blues' by Gary Moore.
She's lead singer in another of this series. She's way better here than in the other one.
Love it. Just the perfect twist to this classic tune. Keep em coming.
I love that you're playing classic rock... and doing it justice too! Well done.
I love the bassist's whole body rhythm. She's 100% in the song.
Thanks to all involved in this performance! The vocals are so fresh and each of the instruments are just owning it.
Fantastic rendition of this iconic song...loved it! Everyone is excellent! Vocals are awesome!
Simply put, EXCELLENT! Hats off to the students of School of Rock!!!
Every time this video comes up on my sidebar I have to give it a click and watch one more time. With 1.8 million hits, I feel I'm not alone.
It's good to see some young people find and play some real heartfelt rock
I saw this maybe a year ago and keep coming back to it. They really did the song justice. Not to insult Cheap Trick, but I think this bunch does the song full justice.
This group certainly looks like they had the most fun compared to other videos! Great job all around for sure
These students get it. Totally captured the essence of the song along with great execution. Amazing job.
Ive watched this every day for 6 weeks. It moves me each time
Kudos to this kids for helping to keep this gem alive..☺
All 5 did an excellent job. I was there when Cheap Trick did it live , I would love to see these 5 did it live as well. Thank you for keeping Rock alive.
that is a golden oldie. Fantastic young musicians.
I have watched this video a dozen times. Just outstanding and the vocalist is awesome.
This is so tight. It sends chills down my spine every time I watch it...and I have watched something like 50 times now.
Three minutes and thirty six seconds of talent. Great work!
This is incredible...I know, I grew up with this group and song! Bravo!
Great to hear a classic updated in a fresh vibrant way!!! Love it!
Excellent rendition of a classic. I always enjoy School of Rock. Thanks, guys!
These kids are great. They're very talented and deliver a very good version of classic rock songs. I always enjoy watching the School of Rock!
Fantastic! Love it! You all ROCK...literally!
That band were fantastic, such a crisp sound 👌
I keep coming back to this video because it's such a great cover. So expert, they feel like a band that's been together for years. So much talent. Kudos to all of them.
Awesome!!! Rock on kids, save the classics!!!
I just love watching the younger generation rocking out to classics like this, and they nailed it. I could watch them all day.
The kid on guitar is killin it.
High octane driven bass with excellent singer really motors along with great players. Wow!
Really strong performances from everyone!! 🤘😆
Its so nice to see that young people still love the old songs ❤👍 And yes, very good performance !!
Drummer can't stop smiling - love it!
I'm an old man (75) and what I like about these kids is they are having a ball with music, and they are playing music with a melody (fancy that!) Plus, a great beat for dancing. (Do kids still dance these days?)
Freddie Mesquit
Mostly provocative dancing that I’ve seen. No twist or potato.
You’ve got almost 20 years on me. You have lived through 2 of the best decades in music in my opinion (50’s and 60’s). An absolute footprint of decades to come. The 70’s were very cool too
Kids are so lazy and have such short attention spans these days that they might dance for about , maybe 15 seconds and then they'll stop and whip out their devices and stare mindlessly at them for about an hour.
@Alanna Figliozzi I'm not just looking at one kid who's addicted to their phone. It's pretty much a fact. Most kids are addicted and can't be away from their phones for more than 10 minutes.
I see it everyday. I went to see the movie 'It" a couple weeks ago. The theater was mainly empty. And in comes about 12 teens. It was bad enough that they wouldn't shut up and talked pretty much through the whole movie, but what was worse, was everyone of them had their phones out. Using them. It was pretty distracting and annoying as shit.
Keep listening to those bands though. You have good taste in music :)
Bass player has some great attitude playing with some awesome feeling
Those young musicians owned that, well done.
Aden is very simply a natural performer. Excellent work.....rock on!
