This video is all about producing Alternative music in the vibe of artists like Twenty One Pilots, Imagine Dragons, and girl in red.
Producing music in the Alternative genre really isn't that complicated. If you can get a few key things right you are well on your way to producing Spotify-level alt-rock jams.
A few of the key elements of alternative music are:
• Multiple layers of drums
• A TON of variation and dynamic changes throughout the song
• Filter automations
• A crap ton of saturation and compression on the vocal
• A groove that is enhanced and reinforced by the bass and electric guitars
I cover all these inside the 3 "umbrella" tips which are:
1. Layer the drums + add a ton of variation
2. Put a crap ton of saturation and compression on the vocal
3. Use bass and electric guitars to enhance the groove

Haha I appreciate it!
So good on loop snippets!
Learning more about music production. Surprising how you’re going for indie artists in your vids. Good job bro!
It's in the channel name bro

Nice one!
The chorus slaps, man. 🤌
Thank you much!
Dude is there a place where we can access all the pdfs?? Doesn’t look like the website is working!!
Sick Man! Where did you get these drum loop samples from?
Appreciate it! I think that loop was from Noiiz. They’re similar to Splice, just not as well known.
If I may ask.. Which software would you recommend to start with for beginners..
Honestly, they’re all great. Logic, Ableton, Studio One, you name it. You can’t really go wrong with any of them.
@@theindiemusiclab Thanks
Logic is really versatile if you're not just producing edm. the time signatures can be changed in the timeline whenever you want and the default loops and plug-ins are really good. I personally use FL for the workflow I have on it and windows but I have been trained on Logic. Ableton is good too with good plug-ins
What DAW do you use?
I use Presonus Studio One
