I remember being told that the ceremonies for many brothers were a beautiful experience with many emotions. I can attest that althought I had a great sense of graditude for my experiences in the same areas, I Look back now and see that so many parts were rushed and others bumbled through and it became clear that there was a bit of "going through the motions" that occurred. I can see now how that can be discouraging in any degree considering how the ceremony sets the standard and tone for future masonic endeavors. If I am to be the change that I want to see, I know that I must put 100% of my effort into anything that I do for myself of the lodge, knowing that will dirrectly reflect onto the additude of other brothers and candidates coming up in the craft. Just as someone shows their willingness and readiness to recieve, so must we be willing to give with just as much passion for the craft and the individual.
I’m sorry to hear that some of the experiences weren’t the best but I’m proud to sense your commitment for giving a better experience to those who come after you. 🤝🎩

Gents I’m from the U.K. & can confirm I had an interest in freemasonry mainly due to the fact my grandfather was a MM. however I have to be honest, upon embarking on my journey into freemasonry I decided it absolutely wasn’t for me, the members of the lodge are all very old & the culture is so old fashioned I just can’t enjoy it. I was expecting to learn scientific truth & enlightenment, however what I saw was old working class men bickering over Masonic lodge finances😂.
No lies detected. I do hope you never lose that desire to seek scientific truth and enlightenment. Seek it, find it, live it. Wherever it may reside.
@southwest3369 It seems to me that your Proposer and Seconder didn't do their job properly. They should have furnished you with all the information you needed, for you to decide if you wanted to proceed and also to decide if they thought you should be put forward for membership.
Please understand though, that not all Lodges are the same. Their "vibe" is a product of the personalities of the membership.

@@Thewindingstairs The CIA, FBI ruined everything. Also, people are too greedy to share business oppurtunities. There isn't the idea of "growing a community" in the world anymore because community is an abstract formless thing that people supplement by having "interests" on the internet rather than being neighbors. So there's no way you can really trust anyone and the members of the organization that are more conservative are going to want to push out any new ideas or anything that would want any change.
