as someone who has lived their entire life in berlin i'm lowkey jealous of this flat bc i know how hard it is to find one in general and a beautiful flat in particular
The most important point is finding a flat that one can pay... as someone who has spent their whole life in Berlin as well and hopes to find an own place to live in the near future, this seems like the biggest obstacle
K A. E. But thats more of a recent issue. Berlin used to be quite cheap (still is compared to other cities that are a 1/10 of the size Berlin is (or much less than that) and the price per square meter is the same lol. Renting just became expensive everywhere
@@lilian8803 I know lol
me too :D
omg isso die wohnung is sau baba nhh
I feel like I just walked into an indie movie, everything looks so aesthetically pleasing đ„°
Hahahaha itâs so cool
Btw, Eve, yes, we want a video in German! đđâ„ïž
Naga smart me too wish I could go :/
kiyaniamy germany đ©đȘ is ugly even Congo đšđŹ Brazzaville is wayyy beautiful than germany.
Biautefaul programs welcome
Your apartment is beautiful and those views must be STUNNING to wake up to on a sunny morning - loving the Berlin content!!
Itâs honestly so gorgeous! X
Eve Bennett How is your flat mate going to self isolate
Jenny Scott I donât think Italy is on the list of countries where u have to quarantine when u get back x
What is described here as a lively and beautiful street is one of the most gentrified places in Berlin. Less than ten years back, ordinary people who couldnât afford an expensive flat were living around this area but because profit was prioritised the whole streets there changed and investors made them theirs. The old cafĂ©s and shops had to close to make place for more "fancy" and oh so "urban" places, the strikingly increased rents simply couldnât be paid by the former residents anymore. At the market place are now the homeless people and junkies the rich easily managed to suppress, ignore or simply look down at. And yes I get that people enjoy the feel of this area now because admittedly it is "pretty" when you ignore the past but it is so so important to know about the circumstances and history of this neighbourhood. It just schouldnât be that people are so unaware of what they are contributing to.
yes, absolutely right!
this!
:(
How much would an apartment like that be there? It looks so very expensive
@@jasser1918 germany is not a socialist country. it is a capitalist country with *some* socially-democratic elements
your sentiment is fair, and applies to many local neighborhood in major cities around the world. I'm from koreatown in Los Angeles, and from being completely destroyed in the 90s to now being one of the most sought out locations in LA, I've seen the changes over 30 years. but please, stop patronizing. it fucking happens. there is a better way to educate people and create awareness
Me: wondering why a room tour is so long
Eve: this is the door, this is the letter box, this is the doorbell
No hate just laughs
Facts lmaooo đđđ€đœ
Loool I love it, it's so Eve
No way, you literally moved into the same house which I used to live in đ enjoy your time, Bergmannkiez is absolutely beautiful âš
Maybe you could have a German word of the day at the start or end of your videos?
oh my gosh I love that idea. I hope eve sees this and does this!

Tip for moving belongings to another country: use 'Mybaggage' collection and delivery service as it is sooo much cheaper than paying to check-in multiple suitcases! I use it when moving stuff over to university and I also used it when I was on my year abroad!
Berlin is such a diverse and historical city, enjoy your time there! And as for supermarkets, Edeka is nice, but Rewe is even better đ Lots of love from NRW!
I agree, Rewe is definitely the best out of all of them!
Feier rewe irgendwie gaaarnicht xD
I love old European architecture, it has so much character and soul! Great apartment, great views, you'll be so happy in Berlin :) :)
Suuuuch a big difference in architecture between countries tho
Iâm German Berlin is ugly and is bad
Edeka is the most expensive supermarket here (think M&S Foodhall or Waitrose). You could see if there are things like Lidl, Rewe or Penny nearby for a sort-of happy medium. Lidl here isn't a discounter like in the UK - its just a regular old supermarket and their bakery is excellent. You'll see people waiting outside first thing in the morning queuing for fresh bread lol. Also, if you need cheap cupboard staple-type things conveniently, Amazon Prime in Germany is very cheap for students. I think its about 37 for a whole year at the moment? It is very convenient, most things come the next day and the bonus is having Prime video - which is great for helping with more colloquial casual German, since you can put English subtitles on for a lot of things.
I think Rewe is almost as expensive as Edeka? Cheapest should be Netto, at least around where I live
Lidl or aldi is the best
Aldi is definitely the cheapest and I would say that Lidl is still more of a discounter. Also I always buy bread from a local bakery, it's probably better in terms of ingredients and supports the local economy - not as mass produced as Lidld! Also if you buy the store brand at Edeka or Rewe it's not really more expensive than others.
@@hendrike4813 I think Rewe has better sales.
But it really depends on what you are planning to buy... Edeka has Gut&GĂŒnstig and their own brand which is pretty cheap as well. And I'm pretty sure Lidl, Aldi and Netto are discounters.
Lil pro Tip: Kaufland or Real. They carry a very wide range of food and household necessities with reasonable pricing.
Why do I feel like I'm listening to Florence Pugh? you guys sound THE SAME!
Omg thatâs what her voice reminded me of đłđđŒđ
Yeeees đ
Bruh they sound nothing like each other

ikr!!!
Your apartment is stunning! Loving the Berlin content, itâs seriously making me want to visit âșïž
Itâs so gorgeous you deffo should!
Eve Bennett what job are you doing in Berlin xx
Videos in German. Yes please!! Iâm going to be an au pair next summer and want all the practise I can get
Woo ok hha
Where are you going to? :)
Love the apartment and the area as a whole is gorgeous. A year abroad in Berlin sounds really exciting, I hope you have an amazing time!
Your flat is stunning! I'm loving the Berlin content already!
I've loved watching how far you've come over the last few years, i remember when you were sharing your GCSE results with us so clearly haha :) Xx
It could be a good idea to put a pair of menâs sandals out in the front,in the tray. Just a little bit more safety since the door are very old
Kreuzberg ist pretty safe and as it seem she either has to enter through at least one or two doors bc those houses are all build in the same style... those doors aren't unsafe as well :)
Lol it's Germany people don't barge down doors like that, only in empty places. And people in Germany earn a living wage so they don't need to go for crime, Germany is probably top 10 safest country, and just so you know that building is from the early 1900s maybe even older and the doors have not been kicked in as you can see it's the same original doors.
@@juuk3103 burglars donât barge down doors, I know its Germany but sheâs still a single young woman living in it. Itâs just a tip. I live in a safe area as well and know very well how these apartments are due to the fact that they exist where I live as well. The problem is if u have to open the door, thatâs when something bad can happen, and an indication that you donât live alone might help you.
@@mariakiwi1428 no need to put uneccesary stress and worry on yourself, it's a bit paranoid don't you think? It literally never happens, i guarantee you non of those doors in that apartment building has been kicked down in over 100 years, i just don't think it's healthy living thinking about serial killers comming after you or things alike for your psyche
@@soph-mc1qr There is no crime in Germany??? So there must not be any sort of police either.đŻ
your life is genuinely such an inspiration for me cause i literally want to do german at oxford alongside beginners italian, i basically want to live your life!!! lysm đđ
This makes me want to live somewhere abroad so badly. Europe is stunning đâ€ïž
Where are you from?:)
T A N Y A England. In my comment I meant mainland Europe
T A N Y A there are some lovely parts of England and i know there are not very nice places in mainland Europe too. There are so many beautiful European towns and cities that I would love to visit. I would just love to like somewhere other than the Uk to experience the different culture.
Prague is one of the places Iâd love to visit. Iâve seen pictures and it looks stunning.
Isabelle Eccles
Imho, the best European capital cities are:
1. Madrid !!!
2. Lisboa
3. Rome
4. Paris
5. London
Speaking of Prague, yea, definitelly add it on your bucket list; it's heritage-rich, probably has the WOW factor but...to be honest, nothing compares to South European capital cities. đ đ„
The only city that stole my heart *completely* is Madrid, tho. What a clean, safe, fun & friendly city! Ngl, I totally fell in love with it! With its every single part and especially with the neigborhood LA LATINA that is full of lovely churches, basilicas, hidden down narrow streets...where, at the same time, you feel 100% safe! â„ïž Madrid is deffo a hidden gem of Europe, it's criminally underrated. It may not have 'bucket list sights' like The Eiffel Tower or Ponte 25 de Abril, but as a whole city it works WAY better; its urban design is đ. Give it a try (preferably in summer when everything looks green); I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised âșïž
Berlin is such a beautiful city. Absolutely full of history wherever you go or live. If you actually look closely on the streets, you can see what's called "Stolpersteine". Those are like the names of people who got killed by the Nazis or fled the country.
There is also a Musum called "Berliner Unterwelten" which I also always wanted to visit but never got to. I hope you explore as much as you can in Berlin. One of the must beautiful cities in Germany.
Berlin is ugly
that apartment actually looks like a dream its so lovely!! also id love to know what your internship entails like what sort of work you're actually doing there? xx
Hey Eve ! Your apartment is lovely, Iâm surprised at how big it is! I remember going to Germany and being confused by the size of the duvet which is not covering the whole bed, I thought it was just the family I was staying with, but I guess itâs actually just a German thing! Also, I was planning on spending the summer in Berlin to practice German, which obviously I couldnât do because of all the uncertainty of COVID, so itâs nice to see your video and live the Berlin life a bit through you (even though Iâm a bit jealous ahah) ! Enjoy your time there and thank you for spending so much time in Starbucks to upload these, we really appreciate that
that dress gives me main character in a european film energy n i am HERE for it
Love your apartment, so excited for you!! Berlinâs a gorgeous city, canât wait for more vlogs!!!

Eve Bennett Yayay that is going to be so iconic
@@RevisionWithEve Yay!
Omg yes yes yes!!đ
This apartment totally reminds me of the architecture of apartments in my hometown Szczecin, Poland! It's making me totally nostalgic since the buildings in the UK are so different and I haven't travelled to Poland this year unfortunately :( Am planning a trip though and will be back at the square cushions and funnily sized duvets hopefully in October đ
hope you get to visit!
You find a lot of similarities in Berlin :)
5:38 Iâm from Germany and I hope I can help you here, the regulator on the bottom means for how long you want to have it in, the more you turn it to the right the Longer. And the thing in the top is how warm you want to have it, here you have to try what is the best, I think the black dots are all to heat up and the white ones to cool down (maybe) our microwave has something where we could put stuff we had in the fridge in to make not frozen (if you understand what I meanđ )
Can you do a what's in my wardrobe? / fall clothing for back to school etc :) loved this video, your new flat looks so nice!
Your apartment and the viewsss are so stunning đ
Im so happy for you, im pretty sure you will be having such an amazing time in Berlin â€ïž enjoy your time âaloneâ, hahaha little bit of adulting. Love you stay safe girly đ
I am! Thank you x
This makes me miss Berlin so much, I was there exactly a year ago! My favourite city ever
Your apartment is gorgeous! Iâm starting my languages degree in September and Iâm so excited for my year abroad! đđ
Grace Keates same!!! We love languages. The yesr abroad though will be amazing. I canât wait x
Your apartment is wonderful, especially your room. I hope you enjoy the experience of living in Berlin a lot.
Hey Eve, I was wondering if you could do a video at some point about how you're preparing with regards to Brexit? Moving to a city somewhere in Germany or Spain has been my dream for a while and this video was brilliant - gave me a glimpse of where I could be if I work hard enough!
I love the way you commented on the way the windows open đ that's the normal way in Germany and I always struggle with British windows that open in the other direction ;D
the flat is very beautiful and i get huge florence pugh vibes from you!
The Germany teddy on your keys is adorable â€ïž
so random but the quality of your videos is alway at its best!! Love your videos
The room is HUGE. How will you readjust to Oxford when you return? đđđ Kidding, of course. It sounds like the changed plans from South America are working out well so far. This is welcomed and wonderful news after all the pandemic situation has done to all of you.
Love this ! Iâm going on my year abroad next year and this has made me so excited! Whereâs your planner from btw?
Typo :)
So excited as alwaysâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Hope you enjoy! X
Your room is LUSH! I love it!
Perfect thing to watch while I sit around waiting for my flight to Munich to board đ
The Kite Runner will make you cry for at least 3 - 7 business days so make you're mentally prepared! Aside from that, you've always been an inspiration and your apartment is absolutely beautiful! xx

Hi Eve!
I just came across your channel and saw this video. So excited for your adventure in Berlin. Just one thing: I think your windows aren't closed properly. You usually have to rotate the handle all the way down.
Beautiful video. Germany is so beautiful I've been dreaming of moving there đ
What job are you doing in Berlin? Iâm getting super nostalgic for my year abroad ( Mons in Belgium and Alicante in Spain), which I did in 2002/3!
love this eve
Hiiiii, love ur videos Eve đâ€ïž
Such a helpful video! Any tips on finding accommodation for the year abroad? Iâm moving to Barca in September and finding it super hard to find stuff!! X
Great idea with the over-the-door hook!
I may have said this already (I don't know at this point). But Eve I hope you have the BEST time on your year abroad, can't wait to see where this takes you, both content wise and personality wise đ.
Nice, a typical "Altbauwohnung". :) Used to live in one of these too years ago in Stuttgart. Ours even had the bathroom built into the kitchen (I guess in the 18th century a bathroom wasn't standard yet ;) ).
Wasn't the most comfortable/ modern flat you can find, but quiet cheap and perfect for students.
Such a vibe, I wanna go to Berlin!!!
i love this!!!
So happy for you babe xx
What a gorgeous apartment!! â€ïž
Induction hobs are the best! So quick for boiling water etc...
