I love 8 track tapes for the win. I have a huge collection of 8 track tapes in my living room behind me. He bought the car in 1977. When he first bought it, the car was midnight blue. This was the only car he had at the time. We've had this car for a long time. I was born in 1984, so we've had it all my life. It's my favorite car in his garage that he owns.

Ford has made a lot of really great engines. This one, and the V8 287 ci, and most recently the Duratec V6. All of these were engines that just did not want to die. They have also cranked out some real crap. Ask anyone who ever owned a Pinto, or a Mustang ll, a Fairmont, Tempo, Escort, or an early Focus.
Pat Butete Yes, you're correct. The FORDs sold abroad of much higher quality than here in the US. Focus is another example. The foreign versions are great, the US version is a piece of crap. Don't anyone start trying to tell me how great Ford Fuckus is. If you had a good one, you were just lucky, or traded it off just in time.
Very fair price!...but I would want to put it on a lift, and check out the underside for rust, suspension problems, etc...Still, the basic auto looks great!

You were talking about a 10.000 paint job on your mustang. Don't use base coat clear coat, use single stage urethane or acrylic paint. Gallon of paint with thinner and hardener is under 100 bucks. Go too; paintforcars.com Find a guy that knows how to apply it and they look and last just as good if not better then b-coat c-coat. Nice 50 ford. Im 66 and have been doing hot rods all my life and always use single stage paint. Another older guy like me told me one time that b-coat c-coat "was made to sell". Kind of like over priced 20 and 21 and 22 inch tires that look goofy on most applications. Tire companys came with that idea, to "sell more expensive tires" that dont cost anymore to make then 14 and 15 and 16 inch tires. PS, a 39 chev here in portland or i did over 25 years ago in acrylic looks as good as the day Whitey Hilmoe from The Dalles OR sprayed it for me. I have seen ALOT of clear coats peel of that were done years after my 39 chev was done. He did a 51 merc for me couple years after the chev and it still has the same nice paint job on it too.
I really do not know why he would sell this fine automobile for 17500. I mean what can he buy for that, maybe I don’t know what I’m talkin about but I would not sell it for that.

I currently own an entirely stock 1950 Custom Sedan with the Flathead V8. These cars truly are iconic. I wouldn't trade it for any other car.

That engine seemed to be in great shape with no exhaust smoke on start up and a great exhaust note to boot. I hope it found a good home.
