I've always wanted one of these Ford cars. The 1949 to 51 were exceptionally great cars. My dad owned one from each year. He gave my oldest brother a 1949.

  • @jimmyhuesandthehouserocker1069

My dad Herb had one of these, identical to the video, except Dad's was an automatic, from the factory. Then the auto trans went out, and Dad converted it to a stick shift. Dad bought it brand new, when he got out of the army after ww2. This was our family car up until about 1962

My very first car was a 1950 Ford four door. I paid $200 for it when I was stationed at Geiger Air Force Base in 1962. I changed the column shift to a Hurst floor shift and changed the paint from a light green to midnight blue. I wish I still had that car. Not the best car I ever owned but it was my first. I would like to buy one again. :)

I’ve got a 1950 coupe like this. Pretty much original like flat head eight. It has a new radiator, 2 new water pumps, gas tank, fuel pump. Gauges work except radio, and clock. Pretty sweet! Thanks, oh, rebuilt carb.

You must have had door latch and other related fit and finish issues with your '49. Those '49s were as first line cars go, rushed through production to meet demand, with an economics to quality control. The '50 models had improved attention to quality control.

I find it amazing how much of difference there is between the 48-49, and this 1950 body style. Thy were real hold overs from the 30s, this is not. But also is still more compact than the slightly later cars by GM.

Min - 50a Custom hade Overdrive med frihiul, gick bra att spara bensin i utförs backorna, om motorn var för varm, lyfta foten och rulla. Likaså om det var isgata, rulla och bara styra, bromsa lite försiktigt. Man fick ha dåliga däck dåförtiden, 1960 talet.
