"This is Not My First Rodeo" should be the title of this video. I commend you for your skill sets and mastery to go head first into this complex panel. In no time you free- handed what you needed. No hammer form required here..bravo!!
Thanks!
The Bob Ross of metal forming! “Just a few little adjustments, and let’s blend this corner in, nice”
👍
Truly a metal worker!!!! This octogenarian still likes to see this type of workmanship.
Thanks Gregory, we try our best.
man...got to be the fastest half hour ever!! Great video though as always
thanks for video
I have been watching your videos for some time now, and I must say, you do great work. So many people have the misconception that doing great work, and being precise requires a lot of special expensive equipment, but you show how it's done without much of that. It boils down to planning, thinking ahead, and a lot of patience.
Thanks for watching John!
Mind over metal! That came out really nice Nic
That's the structure lesson I needed to see; thank you. The structure was not pressed in. You tipped, stretched and repeated starting with the outer most curve. You worked your way inward.
Glad this helped! 👍
I was thinking.. whoa where is he going with all those sharpie marks??... then it all made sense.
I'm really enjoying your " from scratch" builds mate.
Ratrodding a 38 Ford coupe so tips are great
'38 Fords are a sweet looking car! 👍
Nice ! Thanks for the start to finish Nick. If you want to run it for an hour I'll be here. Looking forward to the next installment 😉
I appreciate your support Paul!
This one deserved a thumbs up.
I appreciate that !!
Hey Nick, I appreciate your hard work. You are by far the best car fabricator I've seen thus far. Keep them videos coming, buddy!
Thanks for the support Dwayne! Will do 👍
Great work as always.
Thanks for watching Jojo!
I prefer the longer format. I get more information out of the video. Great content.
Hi Ray, These videos are recorded using my phone unfortunately. Still looking for a camera to replace the one that died(fell). Thanks for watching.
@iNVision Prototypes no problem, the prices of everything are nuts these days. I'll keep watching and learning new things with every video. I did an apprenticeship back in the 80s in an auto shop that did some crazy stuff, amc hornet wagon on a 1 ton ford chassis, 69 el Camino with a 4x4 suspension grafted onto the original chassis. Cool stuff.
WOWI love what your doing
Makin the hard look easy ... looks like you'll have plenty of room in there to get your buddies into the drive inn ... like the progress ... don't forget my shotgun ride ... 👀
Drive Inn?? What's that. The last one we had in the area was torn apart after a twister ran through while patrons were watching the movie Twister... no kidding. You still might find the news article for Fonthill, Ontario. You'll be next in line for a ride after my Dad :D
I came here for my weekly dose of shaking my head at how fast you work and then trying to not compare myself. It's all good man, every day is a learning day. Great QUICK video!
👍
Definitely - really, really good..... 👍👍😎👍👍
LOL! Thanks Joel!!
You are just amazing man.
Thanks Lawrence!
Very nice job again 😊
Great episode and work!
Amazing work as always! However, with my designers hat on there are always awkward things we'd rather not have but which have to be incorporated. A couple of videos ago I made a comment about the recess for the number plate based on UK requirements. Going to front of the car and thinking about what you are doing there... where is the front number plate going? almost every country in the world requires one and yet almost no car has a space other than clagging it onto the front bumper. The E type had a beautiful front but the number plate was stuck to the paintwork as happens with many similar designs. So, the designers challenge, incorporate a number plate, you know it has to be done!
Yes, I recall your comment :D Might attach it to a mount dropping down from the front's feature bar. We'll see.
Really - amazing work
So cool!!! I need to re make most of that structure on my 50. Also looking forward to the hidden hinges episode!!
My Dad has the hinges covered... next week. Thanks for watching!
Excellent !
Thanks Ronald!
Would that be a truncated truck now?
Great video and explanation (as always) 😊
HAH! I love that - truncated! 👍👍
Nice job as usual 👍 amazing results
Good effort
Thanks for watching!
You really good
Thanks Ed. I try my best!
It's coming alone just like I expected it, so exciting can't wait for the next video! Great my friend.
This project has been finished. Check out the 'Ford Shoebox - INFINITI Build' playlist. Thanks for watching!!
Nickster Tnx really look fwd to Friday evening post. Have you considered color ?? Well my 2 cents worth of opinion dark jade metallic green (ford) trimmed in gold Tnx again ! DantheMan
Original color on this '51 was Hawthorne Green Metallic. I'm thinking of keeping it in the green family... still playing with a few ideas on paper. Dark jade would look sharp. We'll see.
GOOD EYE!
Just got the Eyecrometers calibrated! Thanks for watching G.
Curious as to what gauge sheet metal this is? Also you make this look so easy, very inspiring!!
20Ga CR Thanks for watching Aaron
Another top job Nick👍👍👏👏. Could you tell me the brand and model number of your electric shear please.regards John
Hi John, sorry for the late reply. It's a Makita JS1602.
@@iNVisionPrototypes Thankyou😎
Nice one! How do you plan on the lock mechanism?
I'll get the trunk lid fitted to the body. Then using 1" sheet metal strips bend up profile templates of the new structure for the lower section that joins to the Ford's rear fascia panel to the inner working of the Infiniti. Someone(probably me) will jump in the trunk, close the lid and bend up a profile of the latch bracket that will then be attached to the lid's structure . It's a tricky process. Thanks for watching Marcus!
Doorhandles are far to low, but, the 49-51 Fords really need the tailight windsplits. I do dig your styling, but your losing too much, of , the original look. A couple of famous, sectioned shoebox Fords would have been good to study.
Maybe on the next one! Thanks for the feedback!
Isn't it a pain that every horizontal surface in a shop just has crap pile up on it? Almost overnight and without warning.
That's the result of FAFS syndrome - First Available Flat Spot.
It's crazy. I do a clean up every nite and by the next day BOOM!
Why do you not show any finished cars?
Hi Mary Lou Heis! I'm going to ask if you can have a little patience grasshopper 😉Videos are in the works for our other projects including finishing the Custom '40 which will be very soon. We have a lot going on and new and exciting stuff coming out soon. At the moment all my free time is devoted to building and editing footage for the '51. Thanks for watching!! Nick
