      @@MakeTestBattle I didn't notice it on the mitre saw section so I watched it again. I think you're right about the conduit flexing into the fence gap due to it being a sliding mitre saw. Tooth count and tooth geometry can also greatly affect the cut on different materials. A good blade costs more than the entire modded blaster though.

    When drilling out the cylinder for rear loading ports you could try using a piece of tubing as a drill guide.
    (As in, "load" a piece of tubing from the front of the cylinder and drill through it with a drill bit that just spins freely in the tube so the tube keeps the drill centered.)
    When cutting multiple parts on a chop saw it is common practice to clamp a stop the fence so that you don't have to measure and mark them all.
    A piece of wood (or other sacrificial material) clamped to the fence should stop the pvc from flexing and keep the cut square.
    I do believe this is the third time I've watched this.

  • @Crunkboy415
    @Crunkboy415 Před 4 lety +1

    You could've drilled the front out first then take out the spring and break the back plate with a hammer and screwdriver since it's a lot closer to the front.

    • @MakeTestBattle
      @MakeTestBattle  Před 4 lety +1

      The plunger would still stop at the remaining rim of the back plate with all that dead space.
      I nearly used a whole 25ml tube of epoxy to fill the dead space, say 20ml. If you are using 17/32 brass that would be 15.7cm of barrel's worth of dead space. You wanna that filled in.

    • @wadekirby8575
      @wadekirby8575 Před 4 lety

      I'd try drilling a small centered hole from the front then flip the plunger tube over and follow the pilot hole with a forstner bit to take the back plate off, letting you remove the ar spring. Then put a piece of tube where the ar spring had been and fill in around it with epoxy. (Hopefully this would be fairly easy and use much less epoxy.) Then drill out the pilot hole to your preferred size.

    Do you plan on adding a stock to it? You mentioned it was a bit tricky to prime without one in the heat of battle IIRC. Would a caulking gun with some silicone or adhesive work better to fill the dead space?

    • @MakeTestBattle
      @MakeTestBattle  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes, definitely. It needs a stock.
      And yeah, I guess a caulking gun would work, depends on the filler and if you can drill a clean hole through it.

  • @Daniemac
    @Daniemac Před 4 lety

    I have a theory for barrel lengths.
    To get the right length I believe the barrel should have the same inner volume that the plunger tube has, that way when all of the air has been pushed the dart has left the barrel.
    This would utilize all air in the plunger tube, and get the dart out before there is a vacuum in the sealed blaster.

    By the way, there's "some' pre-compression'" on that factory setup. On a side-note; I didn't fill the 'dead-space' in the plunger-tube my 1st time repeating the you've outlined here. Hilarious video by the way. I've watched it quite a few times. I'm going to be repeated this mod again in a different version(I do Integrations.)of this blaster. The next iteration of this build, I will be removing the dead space from the plunger-tube, In order to compare the difference between 'with-dead-space', and 'without-dead-space'. I'll be sure to send you pictures, and give you all credit for your influence. The blaster has been a great deal of joy, and frustration. As a result of this build, I've developed a new type of ammo. More on that later. Warmest regards. MrScott54, BionicBlasters.😉😁🤓😇😃😎🤠

      With thin enough OD barrel, like brass or PETG tubing.

    Do you mean to tell me you electrical-taped a hole and expect it to hold up over time? No. Put a length of electrical tape on the inside of the PT and put a bit of epoxy inside the hole from the outside. Then remove the tape and retape the outside to help that little epoxy plug from popping out.

      I was thinking that, I think I said it and cut it from the video edit for time, but it isn't touching nor rubbing against anything.

      @@MakeTestBattle I see. Overall, a lovely build!! Very cool! Reminds me of the Super Sledgefire (I followed your guide and made one when I was beginning with the hobby).

    I used a k26 and then the handle cracked while I was priming it. What do I do? Does anyone know where I can print a replacement?

      I know right. I made the model to match the tight inner diameter of the mega barrel 18.4mm, but the prints came out small.

      Okay, so on one of the sides of the shell there should be a slot shaped like a pentominoes N. It goes in there, and you have to click it into the upward postion before putting the rest of the internals back in.
